SE PRESENTA UN METODO Y UN APARATO PARA DESCODIFICAR UNA IMAGEN DE PIXELES REPRESENTATIVA DE UN SIMBOLO DE CODIGO DE BARRAS. UN SIMBOLO DE CODIGO DE BARRAS ES EXPLORADO A LO LARGO DE UNA PRIMERA LINEA DE EXPLORACION PARA DETERMINAR UN PRIMER CONJUNTO DE VALORES DE CARACTERES DE CANDIDATOS. CADA VALOR DE CARACTER CANDIDATO DE ESTE PRIMER CONJUNTO TIENE UN VALOR DE ERROR ASOCIADO CON EL MISMO. SI LA EXPLORACION A LO LARGO DE LA PRIMERA LINEA DE EXPLORACION DA COMO RESULTADO UNA LECTURA INFRUCTUOSA DEL SIMBOLO DE CODIGO DE BARRAS, ENTONCES EL SIMBOLO DE CODIGO DE BARRAS ES EXPLORADO A TRAVES DE UNA SEGUNDA LINEA DE EXPLORACION DIFERENTE PARA DETERMINAR UN SEGUNDO CONJUNTO DE VALORES DE CARACTERES CANDIDATOS, CADA VALOR DE CARACTER CANDIDATO DE ESTE SEGUNDO CONJUNTO TIENE UN VALOR DE ERROR ASOCIADO CON EL MISMO.
