EL DISPOSITIVO EN CUESTION TIENE AL MENOS DOS SENSORES QUE SON SENSIBLES A DIFERENTES COMPONENTES GASEOSOS DE LA MEZCLA DE GASES Y ESTAN DISPUESTOS SOBRE UNA BASE COMUN. CADA SENSOR ESTA PROVISTO DE MITADES DE CELULAS ELECTROQUIMICAS CON UN ELECTROLITO SOLIDO EN FORMA DE UN MATERIAL CONDUCTOR DE IONES DE OXIGENO TAL DIOXIDO DE ZIRCONIO INMOVILIZADO EN ITRIO, Y CON LOS ELECTRODOS CONTENIENDO PREFERIBLEMENTE METAL Y/O OXIDO DE METAL, EN FORMA DE PELICULAS FINAS; UNA SEÑAL ELECTRICA DE MEDIDA QUE VARIA CON LA CONCENTRACION DEL COMPONENTE GASEOSO MEDIDO POR EL SENSOR ES PRODUCIDA POR LOS DOS ELECTRODOS DE CADA SENSOR, Y LA BASE ESTA OPCIONALMENTE PROVISTA DE UN ELEMENTO DE CALENTAMIENTO ELECTRICO.
