EL ELECTRODO SE COMPONE DE CUATRO SEGMENTOS PRINCIPALES: UN ELECTRODO CON SOMBRERETE METALICO (10), UN RETENEDOR DE ALUMINA (12), UN MANGUITO METALICO ANULAR (14) Y UN CONJUNTO DE TRANSFERENCIA DE SEÑAL Y POSICIONAMIENTO (16). EL ELECTRODO DE SOMBRERETE METALICO (10) TIENE UNA PORCION DE PUNTA Y UN ANILLO DE CIRCULO QUE SE EXTIENDE DESDE EL MISMO QUE DEFINE UNA CAVIDAD PROVISTA DE UNA SUPERFICIE INTERIOR (24).
