LA PRESENTE INVENCION SE REFIERE A UN METODO POR REDUCCION DE OXIDOS DE NITROGENO EN MEZCLAS DE GASES, ESPECIALMENTE LA REMOCION/DESCOMPOSICION DE OXIDO DE NITROGENO EN GASES CALIENTES DE COMBUSTION. A LA MEZCLA CALIENTE DE GAS QUE CONTIENE N2O SE LE DA UN TIEMPO DE RETENCION DE 0,2-3 SEGUNDOS ANTES DE SER ENFRIADO. DE ESTA MANERA SE DESCOMPONE APROXIMADAMENTE EL 90% DE NO2 EN N2 Y O2. A UNA MEZCLA DE GAS CALIENTE FORMADO POR COMBUSTION CATALITICA DE AMONIO SE LE DA UN TIEMPO DE RETENCION DE 0,5-2 SEGUNDOS ANTES DE SER ENFRIADO EN UNA UNIDAD DE RECUPERACION DE CALOR. TAMBIEN PUEDE LOGRARSE QUE LOS GASES DE COMBUSTION ENTREN EN CONTACTO CON UN METAL O CATALIZADOR DE OXIDO DE METAL PARA LA DESCOMPOSICION CATALITICA DE NO2.
