Definitions

  • the invention relates to an awning for a vehicle, comprising a support frame, which in the assembled state spans a roof area, at least one roof membrane being assigned to the roof area, the roof membrane being connected to the support frame, the support frame having frame elements, the frame elements having a covering have, in which an air hose is arranged, the casing being closed on at least one end face by a cover.
  • An awning with the features of the preamble of claim 1 is, for example, from EP 3 372 754 A1 known. Awnings are used to expand a living space created by a caravan or mobile home with another weather-protected room. To do this, the awning is leaned against a side wall of the vehicle and attached to the vehicle.
  • the awning has a roof membrane and can also be provided with side walls to improve weather independence, creating a space that is closed on all sides.
  • the support frame can be formed from metal profiles, and it is also known from the prior art to form the support frame from inflatable frame elements. These have the advantage that they are particularly easy to install.
  • the awning is erected by filling the frame elements with air using an air pump.
  • the awning can be attached to different vehicles, for example both caravans and mobile homes.
  • the problem is that mobile homes in particular can be equipped with awnings and that compact mobile homes are often equipped with sliding doors. In such growing situations it can However, it can happen that functional elements of the vehicle, such as the sliding doors, cannot be operated unhindered.
  • the invention is based on the object of providing an awning for a vehicle which is easy to assemble and adaptable to different vehicle types.
  • the awning according to the invention for a vehicle comprises a support frame which, when assembled, spans a roof area, with at least one roofing membrane being assigned to the roof area, the roofing membrane being connected to the support frame, the support frame having frame elements, the frame elements having a covering, in an air hose is arranged, the casing being closed on at least one end face by a cover, the cover being at least partially removable to extend the air hose.
  • the awning according to the invention is first attached to a vehicle and then the support frame is unfolded by inflating the air hoses, whereby the awning stands up automatically.
  • the cover of the casing which accommodates the air hose, is at least partially removable.
  • the cover can be at least partially removed to extend the air hose. If the cover is opened, the air hose can extend beyond the casing due to the increased internal pressure and accordingly protrudes beyond the front side of the casing when the cover is removed. This ensures that the air hoses are supported on the side wall of the vehicle so that the awning is particularly stable.
  • a distance can be created between the roof membrane and the side wall of the vehicle, which is particularly advantageous if the vehicle is equipped with a sliding door. In this case it is guaranteed that the sliding door can be operated without any problems even when the awning is installed.
  • the end faces of the casing facing the vehicle are provided with the cover.
  • the awning can be particularly well adapted to different vehicle shapes, in particular to vehicles with sliding doors and/or with awnings.
  • the air hose can be designed in at least two layers and have an elastic inner body which is surrounded by a support layer.
  • the elastic inner body is preferably provided with a valve through which air can be introduced into the inner body so that it expands.
  • the inner body is preferably made of elastic material, for example thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
  • TPU thermoplastic polyurethane
  • the inner body is designed to be airtight so that the air conveyed into the inner body cannot escape.
  • the support layer is preferably formed from a flat layer which is tensile stable in the longitudinal direction. Accordingly, the support layer dictates the shape of the air hose and ensures the mechanical stability of the air hose.
  • the support layer preferably consists of a textile fabric, for example based on polyethylene (PE).
  • PE polyethylene
  • the support layer limits the extent of the air hose in the circumferential direction and preferably also in the longitudinal direction.
  • the support layer can be designed in such a way that, viewed in the longitudinal direction, it has a greater extent than the casing in which the air hose is accommodated. If the cover is opened, the air hose unfolds due to the pressure prevailing inside the inner body, so that the air hose protrudes from the casing, the extension in the longitudinal direction resulting from the shape of the support layer.
  • the cover can be connectable to the casing via connecting means.
  • the connecting means are designed in such a way that, on the one hand, the cover can be easily opened and, on the other hand, it also has a certain mechanical stability, so that the cover does not open automatically.
  • the connecting means can be designed as a zipper.
  • a zipper is easy to use and has a high level of mechanical stability.
  • the connecting means can also be designed as a Velcro fastener. Velcro fasteners are also easy to use and can have sufficient mechanical stability. Snap fasteners, magnetic fasteners and the like are equally conceivable.
  • the support frame has frame elements in the form of roof struts which hold the roofing membrane. Furthermore, the support frame has frame elements in the form of support struts, which are supported on the ground and which carry the roof struts. Preferably, each corner of the awning is assigned a support strut, so that each side area, apart from the side facing the vehicle, can be provided with a side wall.
  • the support frame When assembled, the support frame can span several side walls, to which wall panels are at least partially assigned. This improves the weather protection of the awning.
  • a vehicle according to the invention with a side wall comprises an awning according to the invention, wherein the vehicle has first connection areas and the awning has second connection areas, which interlock with each other in a form-fitting manner, the frame elements of the roof area being supported on the vehicle and further frame elements being supported on the ground.
  • the vehicle is a mobile home.
  • different designs of motorhomes come into consideration, for example motorhomes with alcoves or fully integrated motorhomes.
  • the awning according to the invention is particularly advantageous in connection with mobile homes in the form of panel vans. These are compact and usually have one Height between 2.40 m and 2.60 m.
  • panel vans are regularly equipped with a sliding door.
  • the awning according to the invention can be attached to vans in such a way that the awning lies against the side wall and that the sliding door can be easily operated.
  • the awning is firmly connected to the vehicle and the fact that the frame elements are supported on the vehicle in an adaptable manner results in a particularly high level of stability for the awning. This always ensures that functional elements of the vehicle, such as sliding doors, can be operated without any problems. It is also possible to adapt the awning to different vehicles.
  • the first connection area and the second connection area can form a piping connection.
  • the awning is connected to the vehicle particularly firmly and in a linear manner via the piping connection.
  • the connection is preferably made in the area of the roof membrane, so that the roof of the awning is highly tight.
  • An awning can be attached to the side wall of the vehicle, with the first connection area being assigned to the awning. It is particularly advantageous here that the first connection area can be retrofitted to a vehicle together with the awning. However, the problem can arise that the arrangement of the connection area on the awning creates a greater distance between the awning and the vehicle.
  • the extendable air hoses can ensure that the awning is supported on the vehicle via the frame elements.
  • the frame elements are preferably connected to one another in a flow-conducting manner. This makes it possible to fill the support frame using just a single valve and thereby erect the awning. Accordingly, at least one frame element is preferably equipped with a valve.
  • Three frame elements can be assigned to the roof area, with a middle frame element forming a gable. This improves the resistance of the awning to rain.
  • the connection of the roof membrane to the middle frame element can be done in such a way that when the awning is erected, there is a slope in the direction of the two side frame elements.
  • the advantage here is that the roof membrane is arranged higher in the central area than in the side areas, which can ensure that the roof membrane does not hinder a sliding door of the vehicle that is installed in the side wall.
  • the covering of the frame elements can be provided with additional sealing elements.
  • the sealing elements are preferably firmly connected to the covering and can optionally be arranged between the vehicle and the support element in order to be able to achieve a better seal of the awning against the vehicle.
  • the sealing elements can be designed as a fabric web or as a bead, which can optionally be arranged in a non-positive manner between the frame element and the vehicle.
  • FIG. 1 shows an awning 1 for a vehicle 2, comprising a support frame 3, which spans a roof area 4 in the assembled state.
  • the support frame 3 has frame elements 6, the frame elements 6 having a casing 7 in which an air hose 8 is arranged.
  • the roof area 4 includes three Frame elements 6, which accordingly form roof struts.
  • a central frame element 6 forms a gable and a roofing membrane 5 is arranged between the frame elements 6.
  • the roofing membrane 5 is firmly connected to the coverings 7 of the frame elements 6.
  • Further frame elements 6 form support struts, which are supported on the ground and carry the frame elements 6 forming the roof area 4.
  • the end faces 9 of the casing 7 facing the vehicle 2 are provided with a cover 11.
  • the end faces 10 of the casing facing the ground are provided with a cover 11.
  • the cover 11 can be at least partially removed to extend the air hose 8.
  • the air hose 8 is designed in two layers and has an elastic inner body 12 made of thermoplastic polyurethane, which is surrounded by a support layer 13.
  • the support layer 13 limits the extension of the air hose 8 both in the circumferential direction and in the longitudinal direction of the air hose 8.
  • the support layer 13 is made of textile material and, in the present embodiment, consists of polyethylene.
  • the cover 11 is connected to the casing 7 via connecting means 14, with the connecting means 14 being designed as a zipper in the present embodiment.
  • the connecting means 14 can be designed as a Velcro fastener or include snap fasteners.
  • the support frame 3 When assembled, the support frame 3 spans three side walls 15, with wall panels 16 being assigned to the side walls 15.
  • the wall panels 16 are connected to the frame elements 6 of the support frame 3 delimiting the side walls 15.
  • the frame elements 6 forming the support frame 3 are connected to one another in a flow-conducting manner.
  • a frame element 6 is equipped with a valve, wherein the support frame can be unfolded by filling the frame elements via the one valve.
  • the awning 1 can be dismantled by releasing air via the valve.
  • FIG. 2 shows a vehicle 2 with a vehicle wall 17, on which an awning 1 according to Figure 1 is attached.
  • the vehicle 2 is a panel van with a side sliding door 23.
  • the vehicle 2 has first connection areas 18 and the awning 1 has second connection areas 19, the second connection areas 19 of the awning 1 engaging in a form-fitting manner in the first connection areas 18 of the vehicle 2.
