Niederflurfahrzeuge werden im öffentlichen Personennahverkehr eingesetzt, um Fahrgästen einen möglichst barrierefreien, bodennahen Ein- und Ausstieg zu ermöglichen. Dies wird unter anderem dadurch realisiert, dass Fahrwerke oder Fahrwerkskomponenten und Fahrgasträume aufeinander abgestimmt werden. Beispielsweise werden hierzu Fahrgastsitze erhöht angeordnet, um Antriebe darunter zu platzieren. Dies hat jedoch zur Folge, dass verstärkt Emissionen wie Vibrationen oder Geräusche in dem Fahrgastraum auftreten.
