Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for warping a chain, in which a ribbon having a plurality of threads is fed to a warping drum by a ribbon feed arrangement, the ribbon is attached to the warping drum and wound up on the warping drum with a predetermined number of turns, wherein according to upon reaching the predetermined number of turns, severes the band and forms a first end and a second end of the band and gathers the strands of the band at at least one end.
  • the invention relates to a sectional warping machine with a sliver feed arrangement for feeding a sliver having a plurality of threads and a warping drum, wherein the warping drum has a device for fastening one end of the sliver.
  • a sectional warping machine for example, is out JP H08-13278 A known.
  • the beginning of a tape formed from several threads is gathered and hooked into a hook provided in an opening on the periphery of the warping drum.
  • EP 0 659 914 A1 describes a method and an apparatus for winding warp bands, each formed from a plurality of threads.
  • a warp tape When a warp tape has been wound up to the desired length, it is severed. Before cutting, the threads of the warp tape were fixed with adhesive strips so that the threads at the end of the warp tape and at the beginning of the new warp tape are held together.
  • a warp which is used, for example, to produce a woven fabric or a warp-knitted fabric, has a multiplicity of threads.
  • the number of threads is usually so large that not all of the threads can be pulled off a creel and wound up at the same time. For this reason, a limited number of threads are used, which are pulled out of the creel and wound up together. These threads are also referred to as "tape".
  • the winding process is repeated, the second band then being offset by one band width relative to the first band.
  • the ribbon is attached to the warping drum and the warping drum is rotated until the ribbon has been wound up the desired or predetermined number of turns. Then the ribbon is cut so that there are two ends.
  • the first ending belongs to the part of the tape that has been wound up.
  • the second end belongs to the part of the tape that has to be wound up in the subsequent winding.
  • a knot is created at at least one end of the band, but usually at both ends of the band.
  • the first end of the tape is then passed under a turn in the radially outer region of the wound tape and is thus fixed to the coil.
  • the knot at the second end can be used to tie the beginning of the second part of the tape to the warping drum.
  • the invention is based on the object of specifying a possibility with which warping can be at least partially automated.
  • this object is achieved in that the threads of the strip are combined at at least one end by crimping with a crimp sleeve.
  • crimping When crimping, a crimp sleeve is wrapped around the threads of the tape and pressed together. The threads are then clamped in the crimp barrel. Crimping is known per se from the field of electrical engineering or electrical installation, for example to connect conductors and connecting elements to one another. Crimping replaces knotting.
  • the crimping can go through a crimping device can be carried out, which can work automatically or semi-automatically, in particular is PLC-controlled. If the end of the band is crimped together, there is a crimp sleeve at the end which, in addition to fixing the threads of a band relative to one another, can also be used to fix the respective end of the band.
  • the handling device for example a robot, can then grasp the end with the crimp barrel and move it to a predetermined position.
  • the tape is severed after crimping.
  • the tape is still connected before it is severed. So there are no loose ends of the tape, which makes further handling easier.
  • the band can be tightened or straightened in length prior to crimping, thereby simplifying the application of a crimp barrel.
  • the filaments of the end are placed in an open crimp barrel and the crimp barrel is squeezed around the filaments.
  • An open crimp sleeve has the advantage that the threads do not have to be fed through the crimp sleeve, but there is a side opening in the crimp sleeve through which the threads can be inserted.
  • a crimp sleeve is preferably used which has at least two deformation regions arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the threads. The areas of deformation are then compressed around the threads of the belt. If two or more deformation zones are provided, the certainty that the crimp sleeve will hold the threads of the band together in the desired manner is increased.
  • a crimp barrel is used at the second end to secure the second end to the warping drum. If the second end of the band is provided with a crimp sleeve, then at the second End of an increase in diameter through the crimp sleeve. You can then hook the second end of the tape to the warping drum. The crimp sleeve then prevents the second end of the strap from being pulled out again.
  • an auxiliary device is wound under the band and a crimp barrel is inserted into the auxiliary device at the first end of the band, the auxiliary device being removed from the coil after the crimp barrel has been inserted.
  • the auxiliary device is thus used to pull the first end of the tape through under one of the last turns of the coil and thus to fix the first end of the tape to the coil.
  • the crimp sleeve forms a slightly enlarged diameter of the first end of the band.
  • the auxiliary device can exert a certain tensile force on the first end of the band and thus pull this first end through the coil in the radially outer region of the coil.
  • a crimping device is preferably used for crimping, into which the strip is inserted by a handling device.
  • the handling device can be of relatively simple design, for example as a one-armed robot. The handling device only has to be able to insert the strap into the crimping device and, if necessary, to align it. No complicated movements are necessary for this.
  • the object is achieved in a sectional warping machine of the type mentioned in that a crimping device is provided which summarizes the threads of the band at its end.
  • the crimping device thus produces a crimped connection on at least one end, in which case a crimp sleeve is pressed together around the threads. The threads are then held together by the crimp barrel. At the same time, a defined point of contact is created at which the respective end of the strap can be handled.
  • a handling device is preferably provided, with which the strip can be moved into a crimping area of the crimping device.
  • the handling device only has to move the band laterally if the crimping device is arranged outside of an area through which the band is guided during winding. Such an arrangement is expedient because the crimping device then no longer interferes with the winding.
  • the crimping device is arranged adjacent to the warping drum and the tape feed arrangement. It is particularly preferred if the crimping device is arranged between the warping drum and the band feed arrangement, but laterally offset from the area through which the threads of the band run during winding.
  • the crimping device preferably has two crimping areas which act on the strap at a distance from one another in the longitudinal direction of the strap.
  • the crimping device can then produce two crimped connections, ie a crimped connection at the first end of the band and a crimped connection at the second end of the band. This simplifies the handling of the tape.
  • a separating device is preferably provided, with which the band can be severed between the two crimping areas. So you can cut the tape after the two ends have been prepared in such a way that the threads cannot separate here. This further simplifies handling.
  • the warping drum preferably has at least one opening in which a crimp sleeve catching device is arranged.
  • the crimp sleeve catching device has a slot into which the end of the band is inserted. This slot has a width that is slightly smaller than the diameter of the crimp barrel, so that the crimp barrel can hook behind the crimp barrel catch device.
  • the slot may well have a greater width at its opening than at the position where the crimp barrel catches. This makes threading easier.
  • the crimp sleeve catching device has a magnet.
  • the crimp sleeves are made of a metal that is attracted by a magnet. The magnet can then be used to pull the crimp barrel and the end of the strap far enough into the crimp barrel catcher.
  • an auxiliary device which, in a state in which it is wrapped in a lap being formed on the warping drum, has a first end protruding from the lap, which has a crimp sleeve hooking device, and a first end from the lap has a protruding second end on the side opposite the first end, at which end the auxiliary device can be pulled out of the coil.
  • the first end of the tape can then be fixed to the roll with the auxiliary device.
  • the warping machine has a warping drum 1 .
  • the warping drum 1 has a cone section 2 .
  • a warping carriage 3 Arranged parallel to the warping drum 1 is a warping carriage 3 which can be moved parallel to the warping drum 1 on a guide.
  • a measuring roller 5 is arranged on the warping carriage 3 .
  • a Volume 6 ( Figures 2 and 3 ) to be wound on the warping drum 1 is fed by a tape feed assembly 7.
  • the tape feed arrangement 7 is only shown schematically here. In a manner known per se, it can have a reading unit and a thread reed. The distance between the tape feed assembly 7 and the measuring roller 5 can be variable.
  • a band 6 is to be wound up on the warping drum 1, then the beginning of the band 6 is attached to the warping drum.
  • the warping drum rotates and winds up the tape 6.
  • a relative movement between the warping carriage 3 and the warping drum 1 takes place parallel to an axis 8 of the warping drum 1, so that the tape 6 to be wound up is guided up the cone section 2.
  • the tape 6 When the tape 6 has been wound onto the warping drum 1 to the desired length, it is severed.
  • the end of the coiled portion of the tape 6 is referred to as the first end.
  • the end of the part of the tape 6 which is subsequently to be wound up is referred to as the second end.
  • a knot was made at each end to gather the threads of the ribbon together at the end.
  • creating the knot was only possible after the ribbon had been severed. To create a knot, an operator typically needs two hands.
  • the knot at the first end was then tucked into the wrap to prevent detachment of the first end from the wrap during a subsequent wrapping operation.
  • the knot on the second end was used to attach the second end of the ribbon to the warping drum and start another winding process. This process is repeated until the desired width of a chain has been reached.
  • the warping device has a crimping device 9 which is arranged laterally next to the warping carriage 3 .
  • a crimping device 9 which is arranged laterally next to the warping carriage 3 .
  • it does not have to be arranged on the carriage 3, so that it can also have a relatively large mass. It doesn't need to be moved.
  • the crimping device 9 has a crimping zone 10 with a first crimping area 11 and a second crimping area 12 .
  • the two crimping areas 11, 12 are arranged one behind the other in the running direction of the strip 6, specifically at a distance from one another.
  • the crimping device 9, the band 6 in each Provide crimping area 11, 12 with a crimping sleeve and compress the crimping sleeve around the band 6. This process is called "crimping".
  • a separating device 13 is arranged, with which the band 6 between the two crimping areas 11, 12 can be severed.
  • a "running area" for the strip 6 is arranged between the strip feed arrangement 7 and the measuring roller 5 . It can be seen that the crimping zone 10 is located outside the running area so that it does not interfere with the running of the tape.
  • the band 6 is only pushed out of the running area for crimping.
  • a lateral limitation for example in the form of a disk, on the measuring roller 5 in order to prevent the strip from being moved off the measuring roller.
  • a handling device 14 is provided, which is designed as a single-arm robot.
  • the handling device 14 has a robot arm 15 with which it is possible to handle the strip 6 or ends of the strip 6, as will be explained below.
  • the handling device 14 is also not arranged on the warping carriage 3 .
  • the distance between the crimping device 9 and the handling device 14 is so great that the warping carriage 3 can be moved relative to the warping drum 1 to an extent that is sufficient to wind the tape 6 sufficiently far up the cone section 2 .
  • the warping drum 1 When the tape 6 has been wound onto the warping drum 1 by a predetermined number of turns, the warping drum 1 is stopped.
  • the robot arm 15 now presses the strap 6 between the two crimping areas 11, 12 into the crimping zone, as shown in 2 is shown. This creates a point 16 at which the threads of the band 6 are brought together.
  • the crimping device 9 can hold the threads at this point 16 after they have been brought together.
  • the robot arm 15 is now moved to the other side of the first crimping area 11 and brings the threads together again at a second point 17 .
  • the result of this is that the band 6 is no longer flat between the two points 16, 17, but rather forms a bundle of threads.
  • This bundle of threads is pushed by the robot arm into a crimping sleeve (not shown in detail) which is arranged in the first crimping area 11 or has been made available by the crimping device 9 .
  • a laterally open crimp sleeve is used, into which the threads of the band 6 can be inserted.
  • the crimping device 9 can then compress the crimp sleeve in the first crimping area 11 in order to gather the threads of the band 6 together by crimping.
  • the band 6 can be pressed together by the robot arm 15 on the side of the crimping zone 10 facing away from the measuring roller 5 in order to insert the band into a second crimp sleeve which is arranged in the second crimping area 12 .
  • the crimping device 9 can then combine the threads of the band 12 by crimping.
  • the crimping device 9 can also actuate both crimping regions 11, 12 at the same time, so that the band 6 is provided with a crimp sleeve at the same time in two positions which are at a distance from one another.
  • the band can be severed by the separating device 13 between the two crimping barrels.
  • the crimping device 9 can now hold the second end of the band in the second crimping area 12 .
  • the robot arm 15 can, as shown in 4 1, grasp the first end 18 of the band on which the first crimp barrel 19 is located.
  • the band will hang down slightly at the first end 18 under the effect of gravity, so that further handling must take this deformation of the band into account.
  • the auxiliary device 20 is wrapped between the coil 21 already formed on the warping drum 1 and the supplied tape 6, preferably between the last turn of the tape 6 and before the crimping. Aid 20, when wrapped in wrap 21, has a first end 22 protruding from wrap 20 and a second end 23 protruding from wrap 21 on the opposite side of first end 22. The second end 23 projects radially beyond the coil.
  • the first end 22 has a slot 24 open on one side, the width of which widens radially outwards.
  • a radially inner end of the slot, ie the closed end, has a width which is smaller than the diameter of the first crimp barrel 19.
  • the robot arm 15 can now release the first end 18 of the strap and grasp the second end 23 of the implement 20 and pull the implement 20 out of the coil.
  • the first end 18 of the band 6 is carried along by the first crimp sleeve 19, which is hooked to the first end 22 of the auxiliary device 20, so that the first end 18 of the band 6 is pulled through the coil and is subsequently fixed to the coil.
  • the robot arm 15 then only has to turn the auxiliary device 20 over so that the opening of the slot 24 points towards the warping drum 1 and the first end 18 of the band 6 with the first crimp sleeve 19 can slip out of the auxiliary device 20 .
  • Figure 1 shows a second end 25 of the strap 6 with a second crimp sleeve 26.
  • the second end 25 of the strap 6 is inserted into the warping drum 1 which has a series of openings 27 for this purpose.
  • a crimp barrel catching device 28 Arranged at each opening 27 is a crimp barrel catching device 28 which also has a slot 29 which is open on one side and widens towards its opening.
  • a magnet 30 is arranged at the closed end of the slot 29 .
  • the second crimp sleeve 26 can be attracted by the magnet 30 .
  • the robotic arm 15 can grasp the second end 25 and insert it into the opening 27 .
  • the robotic arm 15 then only has to move the second end 25 such that the second end 25 is inserted into the slot 29 .
  • the second crimp barrel 26 has a diameter that is larger than the width of the slot 29 at the closed end. Insertion is facilitated in that the magnet 30 attracts the second crimp sleeve 26 . If the warping drum 1 is then rotated, (referring to the representation of the 7 ) the crimp barrel catcher 28 from top to bottom and takes the second End 25 of the band 6 by acting on the second crimp barrel 26. As a result, the band 6 is wound onto the warping drum 1 again.
  • the two crimp sleeves 19, 26 are only shown schematically here. However, it is expedient if crimping sleeves 19, 26 are used, each of which has two deformation areas which are arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction or running direction of the threads of the strip 6.
