Definitions

  • the invention relates to platform-type height access devices.
  • platform we mean here in particular mobile ladders with a platform, and more precisely mobile ladders with a working platform with a maximum surface area of 1 m 2 and a maximum height of 5 m, designed to be used by only one person at a time.
  • platforms are presented in standard NF EN 131-7.
  • the invention relates in particular to individual rolling platforms (PIR) or individual light rolling platforms (PIRL).
  • An individual rolling platform is conventionally a secure workstation complying with standard NF P 93-352.
  • An individual rolling platform is then a platform used for work at height, which can be carried and/or handled by crane in building work by a single operator, working on a floor at a maximum height of 2.5 m above. above the ground.
  • the PIRs have a means of movement, a means of immobilization and a means of access to the workstation.
  • Portable PIRs have a mass of less than 50 kg and can be folded without separating their elements.
  • the PIRs are equipped with two wheels to allow their handling in the closed position.
  • the PIRs have a floor protected on three sides by means of protection against falls from height. These means of protection against falls include a plinth, extending over three sides of the floor.
  • the means of protection against falls comprise a rail extending substantially at the height of the user's pelvis, and an under rail extending at the height of the user's legs.
  • a mobile closure of access to the workstation is planned.
  • the presence of the operator on the platform must not be an obstacle to closing access to the workstation.
  • standard NF P 93-352 provides that a locking system for the mobile closure is mandatory.
  • the document FR2914683 shows an example of PIR.
  • a lightweight individual rolling platform is conventionally a secure workstation compliant with standard NF P 93-353.
  • a lightweight individual rolling platform is then a platform used for work at height, which can be carried and/or handled by crane in building works by a single operator, working on a floor at a maximum height of 1.5 m above above the ground.
  • the PIRLs have a means of movement, a means of immobilization and a means of access to the workstation.
  • the PIRLs have a mass of less than 50 kg and can be folded without dissociating their elements.
  • the PIRLs are equipped with wheels to allow their handling in the closed position.
  • the PIRLs have a floor protected on three sides by means of protection against falls from height.
  • These means of protection against falls include a plinth, extending over three sides of the floor.
  • the means of protection against falls comprise a rail extending substantially at the height of the user's pelvis, and an under rail extending at the height of the user's legs.
  • a mobile closure of access to the workstation is planned. The presence of the operator on the platform must not be an obstacle to closing access to the workstation.
  • standard NF P 93-353 provides that a locking system for the mobile closure is mandatory.
  • the document FR3023571 shows an example of PIRL.
  • the guardrail comprises an upper rail articulated to the two longitudinal members of the climbing plane, the upper rail being articulated to the floor by two connecting rods, each connecting rod being mounted articulated on the upper rail by a sliding collar, the sliding of the collar on the upper rail taking place when folding or unfolding the platform.

  • EP3015640 AUDINNOV
  • FR2918408 FR3027942
  • FR3067742 .
  • This first design has drawbacks.
  • the platform is provided with an automatically opening gate, each of the two leaves of the gate being pivotally mounted on a connecting rod, the connecting rod being mounted articulated to the upper rail and to a spar of the climbing plane.
  • the connecting rod comprises two telescopic elements between a deployed position of the platform and a compact storage position of the platform.
  • This second design has drawbacks.
  • the platform comprises a lower rail and an upper rail, the two rails being articulated to the rise plane and connected to each other by two parallel lateral links, the lower rail being connected to the floor by two other links.
  • a movable U-shaped rail is articulated to the upper rail and rests inclined on the lower rail.
  • This third conception has drawbacks.
  • the closing means are formed of a simple chain or a strap, as presented for example in the documents EP3095952 (CDH) , FR3066223 (CDH) , EP1921249 (ZARGES) , or when the closing means are formed of a bar, as proposed in the documents EP2818625 (CDH) , WO2019/170141 (SCG) , DE202007000406 (HYMER) , CN209385045U (POSH ), EP2868859 (TUBESCA) , or even when the closing means are formed of semi-rigid rails, as presented for example in the documents FR3005986 (CDH) , FR3005987 (CDH) . It has been noted that some users consider that the installation of these means of closure is not essential and constitutes a waste of time.
  • Access to the workstation requires unlocking the gate, then passing through it, the gate returning to the closed position under the effect of return elements.
  • the gate opens towards the inside of the workstation.
  • This inward opening gate arrangement is the most natural. Indeed, when climbing into the platform, the gate opens as the user passes and closes automatically behind them, the user being able to enter the platform with tools in hand.
  • the space available in the workstation is sometimes reduced, the presence of the user being able to hinder the movement of the gate inwards, when the user wants to leave the workstation.
  • This disadvantage is particularly present when the gate is formed of a single leaf, extending over the entire width of the workstation.
  • a second disadvantage is that the access gate most often extends in a plane parallel to the ascent plane.
  • Such a configuration is present for example in the platforms described by the documents CN206722749U (SHIYA) , CN103233675 (SUZHOU) , CN203308371U (SUZHOU ), CN203308376U (SUZHOU) , US9663989 (WING) , US 2013/186710 (WING) .
  • This arrangement of the access gate parallel to the ascent plane is not ergonomic.
  • the opening of the gate is caused by the feet and legs of the user when moving on the ascent plane. The user can engage and lock their foot in the gate with the risk of unbalance and falling.
  • the invention aims in particular to overcome the disadvantages of platforms of the prior art, by proposing a new guardrail structure adapted to platforms, in particular to PIR or PIRL, or platforms used for shelving products.
  • the invention relates, according to a first aspect, to a device for working at height comprising a work station, a first base forming a plan for climbing to the work station and a second support base, the plan of rise comprising two stringers and at least one step, the workstation being provided with a floor, a guardrail, and a means of closing access to the workstation, the guardrail comprising a upper rail and a lower rail, the upper rail being pivotally mounted relative to the longitudinal members of the climbing plane, the guardrail and the means for closing access to the workstation being movable between a folding position in which the rail upper is substantially parallel to the ascent plane, and a deployed position in which the upper rail is substantially horizontal, the means for closing access to the workstation comprising a leaf, the device being such that in the deployed position, the leaf is pivotable relative to the upper rail and the lower rail around a substantially vertical axis of rotation, the pivot axis of the leaf being mounted in articulation to the upper rail by a first articulation means, the
  • the upper rail is articulated to the longitudinal members of the climbing plane by a third articulation means, the lower rail being articulated to the second support base by a fourth articulation means, the four articulation means forming the tops of a deformable quadrilateral.
  • the deformable quadrilateral comprises a first segment, of length L1, between the first means and the third articulation means; a second segment, of length L2, between the first articulation means and the second articulation means; a third segment, of length L3, between the third means and the fourth articulation means, and a fourth segment, of length L4, between the second articulation means and the fourth articulation means, the sum of the lengths of the first and of the second segment L1+L2 being substantially equal to the sum of the lengths of the third and the fourth segment L3+L4.
  • the first upper segment of the cam path extends over an angular sector of between 20° and 90°, and preferably extends over 90°.
  • the second lower segment of the cam path extends over an angular sector of between 20° and 90°, and preferably extends over 90°.
  • the movement of the leaf takes place against mechanical return means.
  • the invention relates, according to a second aspect, to a device as presented above, the device being an individual rolling PIR platform, or a light individual rolling platform.
  • Platform 1 includes two legs.
  • the platform has simple access, a first base 2 forming a climbing surface, the second base 3 forming a crutch.
  • the platform has double access, and comprises two legs each forming a rise plane.
  • Each of the access points is then advantageously provided with an automatic gate.
  • each of the two automatic gates can be opened towards the outside of the platform.

  • the steps 6,7 advantageously comprise a non-slip support surface, this surface being for example embossed, ribbed, perforated.
  • the steps 6,7 comprise an element in the form of a grid, a grating, expanded metal or perforated metal.
  • the steps 6,7 can be made of metal, in particular aluminum alloy or steel, or of composite material.
  • the second base 3 comprises two longitudinal beams 8, 9 and a lower crosspiece 10.
  • the crosspiece is in the form of a substantially horizontal bar.
  • the second base comprises more than two crosspieces, for example in the form of two substantially horizontal bars.
  • the platform includes for example five to seven steps, the maximum working height then being around three to four meters.
  • the second base comprises a lower crosspiece in the shape of a bent or curved tube, forming a U with an opening towards the ground. This arrangement allows the use of the platform above an obstacle such as for example a toilet bowl.
  • the ascent plan is of fixed height and includes two steps 6, 7.
  • the ascent plan may include a single step, or more than two steps.
  • the climbing surface is adjustable in height, and includes for example two telescopic assemblies, the second base also being adjustable in height.

  • Each of the two spars 4, 5 of the rise plane 2 carries a non-slip pad 11, 12.
  • This pad 11, 12 is for example made of elastomer.
  • the fixing of the shoe 11, 12 on its support beam 4, 5 is for example obtained by force fitting.
  • Each of the two spars 8, 9 of the second base 3 forming a crutch carries a non-slip pad 13, 14.
  • This pad is for example made of elastomer.
  • the fixing of the shoe 13, 14 on its support beam 8, 9 is for example obtained by force fitting.
  • platform 1 When a user climbs onto platform 1 in the deployed position as shown in figures 1 And 2 , platform 1 rests on the ground on its four non-slip pads 11-14.

  • the ascent plane 2 is inclined relative to the vertical, so that the wheels 15, 16 come into contact with the ground. It is thus possible to move platform 1 manually and effortlessly, like a wheelbarrow.
  • the wheels 15, 16 advantageously do not touch the ground.
  • each of the two spars of the stand carries a wheel, allowing the platform to move, in the deployed position for use or in the compact folded position for transport.

  • the upper sections 4b, 5b are substantially parallel.
  • the lower sections 4a, 5a are not parallel, and approach each other starting from the ground. This arrangement makes it possible to increase the support polygon and the width of the first steps of the ascent plane, compared to a platform whose spars of the ascent plane would be parallel over their entire length.
  • the longitudinal members 8, 9 of the stand comprise a lower section 8a, 9a and an upper section 8b, 9b.
  • the upper sections 8b, 9b are substantially parallel.
  • the lower sections 8a, 9a are not parallel, and approach each other starting from the ground. This arrangement makes it possible to increase the support polygon, compared to a platform whose strut spars would be parallel over their entire length.
  • the spacing of the sections lower 8a, 9a facilitates the installation of the platform above the obstacle.
  • Platform 1 includes a horizontal floor 19.
  • the floor is at a height corresponding to the junction between the lower sections 4a, 5a; 8a, 9a and upper sections 4b, 5b; 8a, 9b of the spars 4, 5 of the rise plane 2 and the spars 8, 9 of the stand.
  • This floor is advantageously non-slip and has, for example, an embossed, ribbed or perforated surface.
  • the floor can be made of metal, in particular aluminum alloy or steel, or of composite material, for example with a polymer matrix and fiberglass reinforcement.
  • a plinth delimits the floor 19, this plinth comprising three sections substantially perpendicular to the floor 19, namely two lateral sections 20, 21 and a junction section 22, opposite the rise plane.

  • At least one of the gate leaves comprises a solid or perforated plate. This arrangement can reinforce the feeling of security for the user present in the workspace, and reduces the risk of falling objects.
  • the platform is provided with two operating handles 29, 30.
  • These handles 29, 30 are used by the user of the platform, when folding or unfolding the guardrail.
  • the ergonomics of the handles 29, 30 are reinforced by the dimensions, shapes and materials used.
  • the handles are of generally cylindrical shape, with a diameter of between 30 and 50 mm, typically of the order of 40 mm, and of a length of at least 100 mm, typically of the order of 120 mm. , these dimensions offering good power take-off.
  • the material forming the handles 29, 30 is non-slip, non-conductive and compressible, and is for example an elastomeric material.

  • the cam path 61 comprises a first upper segment 63, a second lower segment 64, and a connecting segment 65 between the upper and lower segments 63, 64.
  • the first upper segment 63 extends parallel to a plane perpendicular to the axis 43, over an angular sector of approximately 90°.
  • the second lower segment 64 extends parallel to a plane perpendicular to the axis 43, over an angular sector of approximately 90°.
  • first segment and/or the second segment are inclined relative to a plane transverse to the axis 43.
  • the movement of the cam in the cam path is then facilitated by the own weight of the leaf.
  • the simple weight of the leaf causes it to return to the closed position, or facilitates the return of the leaf to the closed position.
  • the connecting segment 65 allows the cam-forming pin, carried by the axis 43, to pass from the stroke delimited by the first upper segment 63 of the cam path 61 to that delimited by the second lower segment 64 of the cam path 61.
  • the cam path 61 is stepped, with two stages.
  • the first upper segment 63 of the cam path 61 is followed by the pin forming a cam when the leaf 27, 28 is in the low position, pivoting towards the inside of the work space.
  • the pivoting stroke is defined by the angular sector over which this first segment 63 extends, and is advantageously 90°.
  • the second lower segment 64 of the cam path 61 is followed by the pin forming a cam when the leaf 27, 28 is in the high position, pivoting towards the outside of the work space.
  • the pivoting stroke is defined by the angular sector over which this second segment 64 extends, and is advantageously 90°.
  • a vertical action from bottom to top on the leaf 27, 28 causes the part 44 to rise along the axis 43, the pin passing through the connecting segment 65, and then being able to travel along the second lower segment 64 of cam path 61.
  • a gripping zone can be provided on the leaf 27, 28.
  • This gripping zone is for example an elastomer sleeve attached to the arch 40.
  • this first return means is mechanical and includes a spring.
  • Other return means can be used, in particular pneumatic or hydraulic means, or mechanical means other than a spring.
  • the leaf When the pin projecting on the axis 43 enters the upper segment 63 of the cam path 61, the leaf can be moved by opening towards the inside of the work space.
  • Maintaining the leaf in the open position, towards the inside of the work space, is done against a second return means.
  • the second return means comprises a spring.
  • Other return means can be used, in particular pneumatic or hydraulic means, or mechanical means other than a spring.
  • the second return means causes the leaf to return to its closed position, corresponding substantially to the figure 8 . If no force is exerted on the leaf, the first return means ensures that the pin carried by the axis 43 is maintained in the first segment 63.
  • the leaf can then no longer open outwards, the pin abutting against a second end 67 of the first segment 63.
  • the leaf can, however, be opened inwards, for example when the user climbs into the platform.
  • the gate can then be opened towards the outside of the workstation, against a third return means.
  • the third return means is mechanical and comprises a spring.
  • Other return means can be used, in particular pneumatic or hydraulic means, or mechanical means other than a spring.
  • the cam path thus comprises a first upper segment 63, a second lower segment 64 and a connecting segment 65 between the upper segment 63 and the lower segment 64.
  • the travel of the cam in the lower segment 64 defines a first angular movement of the gate leaf 27, 28 against a third return means.
  • the travel of the cam in the upper segment 63 defines a second angular movement of the gate leaf 27, 28 against a second return means.
  • Actuation of the leaf 27, 28 makes it possible to move the cam in the connecting segment 65, against a first return means.
  • a single means for example mechanical, provides the three recall functions.
  • this mechanical means is in the form of a spring 70.
  • the spring 70 is of the torsion spring type, comprising a first group of turns 71 and a second group of turns 72, separated by a connection zone 73.
  • the spring 70 comprises a first free end 74 and a second free end 75.
  • the spring 70 is mounted coaxially outside a support tube 76.
  • the support tube 76 comprises a first transverse light 77 in which the first free end 74 of the spring is placed.
  • the support tube 76 comprises a second transverse light 78 in which the second free end 75 of the spring is placed.
  • the shaft 43 comprises a lower part 43a and an upper part 43b.
  • the tube 76 is fixed in position relative to the lower part 43a, for example by a pin passing through a hole 79.
  • the upper part 43b of the shaft 43 carries the pin forming a cam.
  • Each half-shell includes a reservation 54, 55, forming a housing for the connection zone 73, when the two half-shells are assembled.
  • Each half-shell comprises means maintaining them in a fixed position on the connecting part 44.
  • These means include for example internal projections 56, 57 of the half-shells, being housed in corresponding reservations 58, 59 in the connecting part 44.
  • the first group of turns 71 of the spring 70 is placed in compression.
  • the spring 70 thus ensures a return to the bottom of the gate leaf, as soon as the manual action on the leaf 27, 28 ceases.
  • the arch assembly 40/connecting part 44/half-shells 52 , 53 is driven to pivot around the vertical axis of the shaft 43.
  • Part 73 of the spring 70, locked in its reservation in the shell, is driven to rotate. This rotation possibly causes a slight sliding of the free end 74 of the spring in the slot 77, followed by the stressing of the turns 71.
  • the arch assembly 40/connecting part 44/half-shells 52, 53 is driven to pivot around the vertical axis of the shaft 43.
  • the part 73 of spring 70 locked in its reservation in the shell, is rotated. This rotation possibly causes a slight sliding of the free end 75 of the spring in the slot 78, followed by the stressing of the turns 72.
  • the stiffness of the first group of turns 71 may be different from that of the second group of turns 72.
  • FIG. 16 to 23 illustrate the folding kinematics of a platform of the type represented in figures 1 to 15 .
  • the wheels 15, 16 are not shown on the figures 16 to 23 .
  • Handles 29, 30 are also omitted.
  • the rise plane is inclined relative to the vertical
  • the floor 19 is horizontal just like the upper rail 24 and the lower rail 23
  • the gate leaves (or any other device for closing the work space) extend substantially along a vertical plane.
  • substantially is meant here the fact that the device for closing the work space advantageously extends vertically, or along a plane inclined a few degrees relative to the vertical.
  • the guardrail is articulated by four articulation means 31-34, arranged at the vertices of a deformable quadrilateral.
  • fictitious lines we mean here the fact that the segments are not entirely formed by material elements of the platform.
  • a first segment of this quadrilateral, of length L1 is mainly defined by the upper rail 24, between the first means 31 and the third means 33 of articulation.
  • This first segment is movable between a substantially horizontal position, when the guardrail is deployed, and an inclined position, substantially parallel to the rise plane 2, when the guardrail is folded.
  • a second segment of this quadrilateral, of length L2 is mainly defined by the device for closing the work space, for example an automatic gate, between the first means 31 and the second means 32 of articulation.
  • This second segment is movable between a substantially vertical position, when the guardrail is deployed, and an inclined position, substantially parallel to the rise plane 2, when the guardrail is folded.
  • a third segment of this quadrilateral, of length L3, is mainly defined by the upper sections 4b, 5b of the spars 4, 5 of the rise plane, between the third means 33 and the fourth means 34 of articulation.
  • a fourth segment of this quadrilateral, of length L4 is a fictitious line joining the second means 32 and the fourth means 34 of articulation.
  • the lower rail 23 includes an elbow 35 between a front section 36 and a horizontal section 37.
  • the second articulation means 32 and the fourth articulation means 34 are not placed at the same height.
  • the lengths L1-L4 of the four segments of the deformable quadrilateral are advantageously such that the sum of the lengths of the first two segments L1+L2 is substantially equal to the sum of the lengths of the two other segments L3+L4.
  • a locking means ensures that the guardrail is maintained in the deployed position. After manual activation of this command, the guardrail can be folded, as shown in figures 16 to 21 .
  • the two legs 2, 3 can then be brought closer to each other, with the floor 19 pivoting, as shown in figures 22 And 23 , for moving or storing platform 1.
  • the gate When folding the guardrail, the gate leaves gradually rotate from their vertical deployed position ( Figure 16 ), up to their folded position parallel to the ascent plane ( Figure 21 and following).
  • the upper rail gradually pivots from its horizontal deployed position ( Figure 16 ), to its folded position parallel to the ascent plane ( Figure 21 and following).
  • the guardrail folding kinematics have many advantages.
  • the gate leaves are arranged approximately vertically, when the guardrail is in the deployed position.
  • a larger working space is offered, compared to the platforms of the prior art in which the gate extends parallel to the inclined rise plane.
  • the folding/unfolding kinematics are particularly advantageous when the gate opens as described.
