Definitions
- the present invention relates to a cosmetic container, in particular a mascara container, which has as components a container part, a container cap, a wiper inserted into a container neck arranged on the container part and an applicator connected to the container cap, which has a brush rod provided with an applicator brush at its free end Stripper penetrates.
- Cosmetic containers of the type mentioned at the beginning are regularly designed as material hybrids, which means that the cosmetic containers composed of a plurality of components have components that are made of different materials.
- these are mostly material hybrids or material mixes of aluminum and plastic, so that, especially in the case when the respective material content exceeds a certain order of magnitude, effective recycling requires a separation of the materials.
- the separation often proves to be very costly, with the inferior or inferior in particular in the case when a separation cannot be carried out economically less valuable material is sacrificed in order to enable recycling of the more valuable part of the material. This can be done, for example, by melting down cosmetic containers that contain both aluminum and plastic components for recycling, so that the materials are separated in this case by incineration or gasification of the plastic component.
- the most extensive possible recycling of a cosmetics container composed of several components is therefore possible, for example, through two different approaches, with the first approach of the cosmetics container being designed in such a way that the individual components can be separated from one another in the simplest possible way, or with the second approach
- the aim is to keep the plastic content as low as possible in order to limit the non-recyclable portion of the cosmetic container to a minimum when sacrificing the plastic material.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a cosmetic container which enables simplified recycling of the materials used or is characterized by a particularly high proportion of recyclable materials.
- the cosmetic container according to the invention has the features of claim 1.
- material interfaces are at least partially designed to separate the different materials or components, which are designed as a releasable form-fitting, material-locking or force-locking connection, so that the cosmetic container according to the invention does not have to be fed to a recycling process in its entirety, but rather a division of the components before recycling due to the material interfaces for the subsequent supply of the components to different recycling processes or, if necessary, a separation of non-recyclable materials or materials that can only be recycled with great effort from the materials with comparatively better recycling suitability.
- the wiper can be formed not only from plastic, but also from a material other than that which is otherwise used.
- the cosmetic container according to the invention also offers the possibility of reducing the plastic content to as low a level as possible, e.g. less than 10%, and a uniform recycling process for the other components, especially if they are made of a uniform material, such as aluminum in particular to choose.
- the cosmetic container according to the invention thus enables the container recycling to be simplified.
- the container cap has an outer cap part and an inner cap part, each of which has a sleeve part which is connected to one another via a press, adhesive or welded connection.
- the differentiation into an outer cap part and an inner cap part enables the use of different materials for the outer cap part and the inner cap part with the formation of a suitable detachable material interface between the sleeve parts in order to allow a high proportion of recyclable material on the container cap.
- an interface can be defined by the applicator holder which enables a particularly simple separation of the applicator from the container cap or the inner cap part.
- the applicator holder preferably has a connection area for connection to the inner cap part, so that a separation between the applicator holder and the inner cap part is also possible.
- connection area is pressed into a receiving area of the inner cap part, the components can be mechanically separated in a particularly simple manner by applying appropriate separating forces.
- the applicator holder preferably has a connection area with a sleeve-shaped connection end for connection to the brush rod, so that the connection of the applicator holder to the applicator is also defined for simplified material separation.
- connection end is preferably connected to the connection area by means of a clamp connection, so that even comparably low separating forces are sufficient to separate the applicator from the applicator holder.
- the container part has a container body with the molded-on container neck for receiving the scraper and a container base formed independently of the container body, so that complex container designs are possible, especially with regard to their shape, without having to rely on materials that are as easily malleable as possible for production of the cosmetic container or the container part, such as a thermoplastic plastic that can be processed by injection molding. Rather, it is possible to select more valuable materials, such as aluminum, for the container part without this being associated with restrictions with regard to the shape of the container part.
- the scraper is formed from an elastically deformable plastic material, such that the scraper in the container neck by two locking beads each formed at an axial end of the stripper is axially fixed, one locking bead resting from the outside against an opening edge of a container opening of the container neck and the other locking bead engaging behind a container shoulder formed in a transition from the container neck to the container body, can easily or at least the container neck can be made from a different material, such as aluminum in particular, without the need for any special effort to separate the materials as a prerequisite for a subsequent recycling process. Rather, the connection between the scraper and the container neck can be made by suitable deformation of the scraper.
- the container bottom is cup-shaped, with a cross-sectional enlargement formed on an opening edge of a cup wall compared to a base base, the cross-sectional enlargement corresponding to the inner diameter of the container body or being slightly larger, so that a mechanical separation of the container base from the container base is simple and easy Container can take place in that the container base, which is pressed into the container body to produce the container part, only has to be pushed or pulled out of the container body for material separation.
- the container body has a base opening with a radially inwardly protruding opening edge, the diameter of the base opening defined by the opening edge corresponding to the outer diameter of the base base or being slightly larger, the above-described advantageous connection between the container base and the container body of the container part can be made possible without this being associated with a disadvantageous aesthetic effect on the external appearance of the container part.
- annular gap required for the joining process between the floor base or the The cup wall of the container bottom and the wall of the container body following the joining process can be reduced or even compensated for by a radially inward deformation of the opening edge, so that the outer appearance of the container part essentially does not reveal an annular gap when looking at the container base from below.
- connection of the inner cap part to the outer cap part takes place by means of a cap insert arranged between the sleeve part of the cap inner part and the sleeve part of the cap outer part, so that the cap insert represents a mechanical connecting element between the cap inner part and the cap outer part.
- the inner cap part is designed as an applicator holder, a double function can be assigned to the inner cap part, so that an applicator holder as an independent component of the cosmetics container is dispensed with and there are therefore no recycling problems with regard to the applicator holder either; in particular in the case when the inner cap part and the outer cap part are formed from a matching material, in particular aluminum.
- the inner cap part preferably has a receiving opening in a base for an axial connecting projection formed at the end of the brush rod, such that a protrusion of the connecting projection protruding beyond an opening edge of the receiving opening engages behind the opening edge after reshaping.
- the container part has a container body provided with a bottom, which at its end opposite the bottom has a receiving opening for receiving a container neck formed independently of the container body, there is a further possibility of creating a container part with a complex configuration in its entirety without necessarily having to a plastic material would have to be avoided in order to create an entirely recyclable container part. Rather, it is possible to manufacture both the container body and the container neck from a matching valuable recycling material such as aluminum.
- the container neck is preferably inserted into the receiving opening with a connecting end corresponding in the outer diameter to the inner diameter of the container body, in such a way that a shoulder formed in the transition to a threaded part of the container neck is arranged flush with an opening edge of the receiving opening.
- a wiper made of elastic plastic is used in the threaded part of the container neck, an edge web protruding radially inward at an opening edge of the threaded part engaging in a locking groove formed on the stripper and a radial edge web of the wiper formed adjacent to the locking groove protruding axially beyond the opening edge in the case of using different materials for the container neck and the wiper, so here the form-elastic plastic material for the wiper and preferably aluminum for the container neck, a particularly simple material separation is possible.
- one connection end of the brush rod is connected to the applicator holder by means of a bayonet connection.
- a bayonet connection between an applicator holder and an applicator is advantageous in the case of a cosmetic container provided with an applicator, in particular designed as a mascara container, since an applicator can be exchanged easily.
- This advantage naturally also exists regardless of whether the components of the container are made from different or identical materials.
- the wiper can therefore also be formed from any material, as long as it fulfills the wiper function.
- the applicator holder preferably has a cup-shaped receiving part for receiving the connection end with a connecting projection formed on a cup base, in such a way that for connection to the cap inner part a protrusion of the connecting projection protruding beyond an opening edge of a receiving opening formed in the cap base of the cap inner part engages behind the opening edge after reshaping. so that reshaping can take place, for example, by means of an ultrasonic welding process, with the result that the applicator holder only has to be separated from the inner part of the cap in order to separate the material.
- connection end of the brush rod has two radially protruding axially from a stop collar at a distance a for engagement in a locking groove formed in a cup wall of the applicator holder at a distance a from a cup rim, the bayonet connection can be formed with particularly little material use.
- the stop collar is preferably used at the same time to seal against an opening edge of an opening designed to pass through the brush rod in the wiper, so that it is not necessary to provide a separate seal.
- the scraper in one axial end of a sleeve inserted in the container neck has a stop collar for external abutment on an opening edge of the container neck and at an opposite axial end of the sleeve several fastening tabs distributed over the circumference of a sleeve edge, the radially outwardly reshaped one on the container neck engage behind formed inner shoulder, a particularly easily separable material connection can be formed between the stripper and the container neck.
- a mascara container 280 is shown having a container portion 281 and a container cap 282.
- the container cap 282 is provided with an applicator 283, which is connected via an applicator holder 284 to an inner cap part 286 received in an outer cap part 285, as can be seen in particular from a synopsis of the Fig. 4 and 6th emerges.
- both the cap inner part 286 and the cap outer part 285 are sleeve-shaped, the cap inner part 286 and the cap outer part 285 each having a cap base 287, 288 at one end and an opening edge 289 and 290, respectively, at the opposite ends of the cap bases 287, 288.
- the inner cap part 286 and the outer cap part 285 each have a sleeve part 291 or 292, the sleeve parts 291, 292 being connected to one another via a press, adhesive or welded connection, the welded connection preferably being made in the area of the overlapping opening edges 289, 290 is.
- the inner cap part 286, which is preferably pressed into the outer cap part 285, has a cap thread 293 formed by deformation and one formed adjacent to the cap base 287 Receiving area 294 for connection to a connection area 295 of the applicator holder 284.
- the connecting area 295 of the applicator holder 284 is preferably pressed into the receiving area 294 of the inner cap part 286.
- the applicator holder 284 has a conically tapered connection area 286 with a sleeve-shaped connection end 297, which is preferably connected to a connection end 298 of the applicator 283 via a clamp connection.
- All components of the container cap 282, that is to say the outer cap part 285, the inner cap part 286 and also the applicator holder 284, are made of metal, preferably aluminum, whereas the applicator is preferably made of a plastic material.
- the container part 281 comprises a container body 299, which is provided with a cup-shaped container bottom 300, as well as a stripper 301, which, in contrast to the container body 299 and the container bottom 300, which are made of metal, preferably aluminum, consists of a deformable plastic material.
- the container base 300 is provided at an opening edge 302 with a bead-shaped cross-sectional enlargement 303, which protrudes radially outwardly with respect to a base base 304.
- the container body 299 has a base opening 305 for receiving the container base 300, which has an opening edge 307 protruding radially inward from a jacket wall 306 of the container body 299, the diameter of the base opening 305 defined by the opening edge 307 being the
- the outer diameter of the base 304 and the outer diameter of the enlarged cross section 303 correspond to the inner diameter of the container body 299 or are slightly larger.
- the container base 300 with the cross-sectional expansion 303 is inserted through the base opening 305 in the container body 299 until a base wall 308 of the base base 304 is essentially flush with the opening edge 307 of the container body 299, as in Fig. 5 shown. Due to the special configuration of the container base 300 explained above, there is a clamping for the mechanical connection between the container base 300 and the container body 299 between the cross-sectional expansion 303 and the jacket wall 306 and possibly also between the base base 304 and the opening edge 307, which may be, in particular in the Area of the cross-sectional expansion 303, can be supplemented by gluing or welding.
- the scraper 301 can be inserted into the container body 299 through a container opening 309 formed on a container neck 308, whereby an axial fixation of the scraper in the container neck 308 is made possible by two locking beads 314, 315 each formed at one axial end of the scraper 301 on the one hand on an opening edge 310 of the container opening 309 and on the other hand behind a container shoulder 311 formed in the transition between the container neck 308 and the container body 299.
- Fig.7 shows, in order to close the container part 281 with the container cap 282, the cap thread 293 formed in the cap inner part 286 is screwed to a container neck thread 312 formed on the container neck 308, whereby a sealing contact of an applicator holder shoulder 313 formed on the applicator holder 284 on the stripper 301 is formed in such a way that the upper edge bead 314 of the wiper 301 is arranged between the opening edge 310 of the container opening 309 and the applicator holder 284.
- a mascara container 320 is shown which, as FIG. 55 in particular shows, has a container part 321 and a container cap 322 which is provided with an applicator 323.
- the container cap 322 has a cap inner part 325 provided with a cap thread 324, a cap outer part 326 and a cap insert 327 which preferably simultaneously forms a cap weight and which is arranged in an annular gap-shaped gap 328 formed between the cap outer part 326 and the cap inner part 325.
- the outer cap part 326 as well as the inner cap part 325 and the cap insert 327 consist of metal, preferably of aluminum, the cap insert, such as in particular Fig.
- 11 shows, is sleeve-shaped and has on its outside and its inside extending in the longitudinal direction of the cap insert 327 clamping webs 329, 330, which enable a mechanical connection between the cap outer part 326 and the cap inner part 325 by clamping when the cap insert 327 is arranged in the space 328.
- the inner cap part 325 has a radial edge web 332 opposite an opening edge 331 of a receiving opening designed to receive the inner cap part 325 in the outer cap part 326, such that the edge web 332 can be connected, in particular glued or welded, to the latter in an arrangement flush with the opening edge.
- the cap inner part 325 serves at the same time to form an applicator holder 333, which in the present case has a receiving opening 335 in a bottom 334 of the cap inner part 325, into which an axial connecting projection 337 formed at the connecting end of a brush rod 336 can be inserted and connected to an opening edge 339, for example by deforming an overhang 338 protruding from the bottom 334.

- a mascara container 400 is shown which, as in particular Fig. 15 and 16 show, has a container part 401 and a container cap 402 which is provided with an applicator 403.
- the container cap 402 has a cap inner part 405 provided with a cap thread 404 and a cap outer part 406, both the cap inner part 405 and the cap outer part 406 being sleeve-shaped and each having a cap base 407, 408 at one end and at each cap base 407 , 408 opposite ends an opening edge 409, 410, between which a connection is formed, which can be designed as a press, adhesive or welded connection.
- the applicator 403 has a brush rod 411, the connection end 412 of which is connected by means of a bayonet connection 413 to an applicator holder 414, which is received in a recess 415 formed in the cap base 407 of the cap inner part 405.
- the applicator holder 414 has a cup-shaped receiving part 416 ( Fig. 19 ) for receiving the connection end 412 with a connecting projection 417 formed on a cup base, wherein, for connecting the applicator holder 414 to the inner cap part 405, a protrusion 420 of the connecting projection 417 protruding beyond an opening edge 418 of a receiving opening 419 formed in the cap base 407 of the inner cap part 405, preferably by means of an ultrasonic welding tool, not shown here deformation, engages behind the opening edge 418.
- connection end 412 of the brush rod 411 has two radially protruding, here diametrically opposite pins 421 which, in particular Fig. 20 shows, are arranged at a distance a from a stop collar 423 of the brush rod 411 and enable engagement in a locking groove 426 formed in a cup wall 424 of the applicator holder 414 at a distance a from a cup rim 425.
- Fig. 21 shows, for the introduction of the pins 421 into the locking grooves 426 for each pin 421 in the cup wall 424, an axially aligned insertion groove 427 is provided, so that after the insertion of the connection end 412 into the applicator holder 414 by means of an axial feed movement through a subsequent rotation of the brush rod 411 the pins 421 can be locked in the locking grooves 426 about their longitudinal axis.
- a bias that secures the connection end 412 of the brush rod 411 in the applicator holder 414 can be generated by a design of the locking grooves 426 that rises slightly in the direction of rotation with the stop collar 423 resting on the cup rim 425.
- the container part 401 has a container body 429 which is provided with a bottom 428 and which has a receiving opening 430 for receiving a container neck 431 at its end opposite the bottom 428.
- the container neck 431 is inserted into the receiving opening 430 with a connecting end 432 corresponding in outer diameter to the inner diameter of the container body 429, in such a way that a shoulder 434 formed in the transition to a threaded part 433 of the container neck 431 is arranged flush with an opening edge 435 of the receiving opening 430.
- a stripper 436 made of plastic is inserted into the threaded part 433.
- the stripper 436 has a stop collar 439 for external contact with an opening edge 440 of the container neck 431.
- the stop collar 439 delimits an opening 445 designed to pass through the brush rod 411 in the wiper 414 436, formed radially outward in the container neck 431, engage behind the shoulder 434 formed on the container neck 431 in order to fix the stripper 436 in its position in the container neck 431.
- the reshaping process for reshaping the fastening tabs 443 can coincide with the reshaping process for the connecting projection 417 on the applicator holder 414 by means of an ultrasonic tool.
- the forming process - comparable to the forming process of the connecting projection 417, which is carried out before the inner cap part 405 is inserted into the outer cap part 406 - can take place before the container neck 431 is inserted into the container body 429.
