Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an overhanging element comprising a base arranged to be placed on an elevation pad of a surface, which base is provided with a window which extends longitudinally in the base, which base comprises at a first longitudinal end a stop member which extends substantially perpendicular to the base, which stop member is formed by at least one flap.
  • Such an overhanging element is known from US D 685,745 .
  • the known overhanging element comprises a stopping member having a geometry in the shape of an ellipse, which is placed at a first longitudinal end of the base.
  • the overhanging element is used to be placed on a surface elevation stud and to overhang a distance between the stud and a wall edge and is placed under a floor covering element which is placed on the stud.
  • the pedestal When the ground is inclined, the pedestal serves not only to raise the surface, but also to compensate for the slope.
  • the floor covering for example formed by slabs or a natural or synthetic wood floor, is then placed on the pedestal.
  • the presence of the window allows the wing of the intermediate element placed on the elevation pad to pass through this window and thus guide the overhanging element in a transverse movement relative to the elevation pad on which it is posed. This transverse movement in turn allows the element of overhang until its stopping member comes into contact with the wall or wall.
  • the document FR 2 568 614 A1 also describes an overhanging element comprising the characteristics set out in the preamble of claim 1.
  • a disadvantage of the known overhanging element is that it does not make it possible to correctly overhang the distance between the wall or the wall and the stud in places where the wall or the wall is not rectilinear, or where it or she forms a corner.
  • Modern architecture and construction techniques and materials now allow the use of geometric shapes other than straight lines. There is therefore a need to have raised surfaces which can be combined with walls or non-rectilinear walls, or which form corners.
  • the aim of the invention is to produce an overhanging element which can be used with walls and partitions of different geometries.
  • an overhanging element is characterized in that said window is dimensioned so that a wing of an intermediate piece placed on the elevation pad can pass through it and thus guide a translation movement of the overhanging element in relation to the elevation pad on which it is placed, which flap is provided with a notch which extends over the height of the flap, the notch having a depth such as to allow bending and/or a removal of a section of the flap located between the notch and a distal end of the flap.
  • the presence of the notch thus makes it possible either to bend said section of the flap, or to remove it, in order to be able to thus adapt the overhanging element to the geometry of the wall or wall facing which it will be placed.
  • the overhanging element can thus adapt to the geometry of the wall or wall, it becomes possible to overhang the distance up against the wall or partition, even if the latter is non-rectilinear or forms a corner.
  • the utility model FROM 20 2016 001842 describes an overhanging element which also cannot be moved relative to the elevation stud and which therefore cannot solve a problem of walls or partitions having non-rectilinear geometries.
  • a first embodiment of an overhanging element according to the invention is characterized in that the notch is located in a part of the flap located between 1/3 and 2/3, in particular between 4/9 and 5/ 9, the length of the bib. This allows on the one hand to always keep a section of the flap which will be in contact with the wall or the wall, and on the other hand to be able to bend the flap sufficiently or remove a section of it, and to be able to adapt the overhang element has a wide variety of wall or wall geometry.
  • a second embodiment of an overhanging element according to the invention is characterized in that the flap(s) is/are placed on a first foot and offset from the base. This makes it possible to break part of the flap without distorting the base of the overhanging element.
  • the base comprises a set of perforations passing through this base. This makes it possible to fix the overhanging element on the elevation pedestal by using the perforations to introduce screws used to fix the overhanging element on the pedestal.
  • a third embodiment of an overhanging element according to the invention is characterized in that the base is provided with a break line applied offset from the flap.
  • This break line makes it possible to detach at this place part of the overhanging element and thus reduce the length of the base.
  • two or three support elements can be applied to the same elevation pad which form an angle between them. This is very useful when the wall or partition forms an enclave or a corner.
  • THE figures 1 And 2 show an overhanging element 1 according to the invention.
  • the overhanging element is placed on an elevation pad 3.
  • the elevation pad and its use are generally known and are for example described in the patents EP 1 027 511 And EP 3 181 779 which belong to the plaintiff.
  • These pedestals are used either to compensate for an inclination of the ground, or to raise the ground, for example to build a terrace or to create space for cables or pipes under a raised floor.
  • the overhanging element is intended to be mounted on the head of the pedestal so that it can be moved on the head of the pedestal.
  • the floor covering (not included in this figure 1 ) is then placed in placing a fraction, for example a corner or a segment, of a covering element which will form part of this floor covering, on the overhanging element 1.
  • the overhanging element 1 is preferably made of a plastic material, such as polypropylene, but it goes without saying that other materials, such as epoxy reinforced with glass fibers, or even natural materials, such as wood, can be used.
  • the overhanging element 1 comprises a base 2 arranged to be mounted on the elevation stud 3.
  • This base comprises at a first longitudinal end 4 a stopping member 5 which extends substantially perpendicular to the base.
  • the stopping member is formed by at least one flap 6-1 provided with a notch 7-1, which extends over the height of the flap.
  • the stopping member comprises two flaps 6-1 and 6-2, each provided with a notch 7-1, 7-2.
  • the notch has a depth such as to allow bending and/or removal by breakage of a first section of the flap located between the notch and a distal end 6d of the flap. This notch is for example made by leaving a recess in the flap during its manufacture, for example by molding.
  • the cut extends over the entire height of the bib.
  • the notch 7-1,7-2 is located in a part of the flap located between one third (1/3) and two thirds (2/3), in particular between 4/9 and 5/9, of the length of the bib. This allows on the one hand to always keep a second section of the flap which will be in contact with the wall or the wall, as will be described below, and on the other hand to be able to sufficiently bend the first section of the flap or to remove this first section, and to be able to adapt the overhanging element to a wide variety of wall or wall geometry.
  • the flap also includes reinforcing ribs 15, one of which is placed at the distal end 6d of the flap and at least one other in each section of the flap. Like their name indicates, they serve to stiffen the bib.
  • the reinforcing ribs are placed on the face of the flap facing the base, while the front face of the flap is preferably smooth to facilitate its installation against the wall or wall.
  • the flap has a thickness of 3mm and the reinforcing rib has a thickness of 2mm, which makes a total thickness of 5mm at the height of the rib. This thickness of 2mm makes it possible to create a distance between the flap and the floor covering which will be placed against the flap and these reinforcing ribs, thus leaving a space of 2mm which can be used for drainage.
  • the bib(s) is or are placed on a first foot 8-1, 8-2, which is offset from the base 2. This makes it possible to break part of the bib , or remove one of the flaps, without distorting the base of the overhanging element.
  • the bib is connected to the first foot at the height of its second section, so as not to hinder the bending or removal of the first section.
  • the base comprises a set of perforations 9 passing through this base.
  • These perforations of said assembly are aligned in at least one row and placed equidistant from each other.
  • This makes it possible to fix the overhanging element, for example using screws, on the elevation stud using the perforations to introduce the screws and thus fix the overhanging element on the stud.
  • the presence of a set of perforations makes it possible to choose one or more fixing points depending on the orientation of the overhanging element relative to the head of the stud 3.
  • each perforation comprises at the level of the upper face of the base a conical recess allowing to accommodate the head of the screw which fixes the overhanging element to the stud.
  • the overhanging element 1 comprises a window 10 which extends longitudinally in the base 2. This window passes through the base.
  • the window 10 extends between the two rows of perforations 9.
  • This window is used to be crossed by a wing which is part of an intermediate piece 12 which will then extend between the floor covering elements.
  • the intermediate piece is fixed on the head of the stud 3 and also makes it possible to guide a translation movement of the overhanging element relative to the stud, as will be described in more detail below.
  • the upper face and the lower face of the base are provided with drainage grooves 18 used to drain water which could fall on the overhanging element.
  • drainage grooves 18 used to drain water which could fall on the overhanging element.
  • a certain number of these drainage grooves intersect the perforations 9.
  • the overhanging element with the wings of two intermediate pieces 12 which pass through the window 10 and two other intermediate pieces which are located on either side of the overhanging element.
  • the overhanging element can slide on the head of the stud and will be guided by the presence of the window 10 and the wings of the intermediate pieces. Indeed, since these wings pass through this window but the intermediate pieces to which they belong are fixed to the stud, they contribute to guiding the overhanging element during its translation movement relative to the stud.
  • the overhanging element can slide on the head of the stud, it is possible to adjust its position in such a way that its flap 6-1, 6-2 comes into contact with a wall or wall.
  • the overhanging element according to the invention preferably also comprises a break line 21 applied in the base offset with respect to the flap 6-1, 6-2.
  • the break line extends in a transverse direction of this base and is located at a distance from the flap, in particular a distance located between 3 and 5cm, more particularly a distance of 4cm.
  • This break line is preferably applied both on the upper face and on the lower face of the base and extends over the entire width of the base. It is however possible to apply the break line only on one side of the base by making it penetrate deeper into the material than in the realization on both sides of the base.
  • the function of the break line 21 is to allow part of the overhanging element to be detached at this location and thus to reduce the length of the base. This is advantageous when the wall forms an angle, as will be described below.
  • FIG. 3a illustrates the use of the overhanging element according to the invention when the wall or the wall 25 has a curved shape.
  • FIG 3a shows the configuration where the flooring is not yet placed and the figure 3b where the floor covering is placed. Thanks to the presence of notches 7-1 and 7-2 it is possible to bend the first sections of the flaps 6-1 and 6-2 so that they follow the curve of the wall or the wall 25.
  • the elevation stud 3 is at a distance from the wall and that thanks to the fact that the overhanging element can be moved on the head of the stud, it is possible to slide it on the head of the stud until ensure that the flaps are in contact with the wall or wall.
  • the floor covering 26 is placed on the overhanging elements.
  • the window 10 and the intermediate pieces 12, the wings of which are housed in this window makes it possible, by imposing a translation movement on the intermediate pieces, to place them in such a way that they can extend between two covering elements. of adjacent ground 26-1 and 26-2, even if the latter are not rectangular.
  • To adjust the covering element 26-1 to the geometry of the wall or wall it will suffice to cut part of this floor covering element so that it also matches the geometry of the wall or wall. Thanks to the fact that the overhanging element can be moved on the head of the pedestal it can come into contact with the wall or wall.
  • the presence of spacer elements in the windows will allow the pieces to be placed spacers correctly between adjacent flooring elements.
  • FIG. 4a illustrates the use of the overhanging element according to the invention when the wall or the wall 25 forms an exterior corner at 90°.
  • FIG 4a shows the configuration where the flooring is not yet placed and the figure 4b where the floor covering is placed.
  • the flap 6-2 has been removed to accommodate the overhanging element to the corner geometry of the wall or wall. To do this, it was enough to break or cut into the 6-1 bib at the height of its 8-1 foot. In case you need to still have a section of one of the flaps before reaching the corner of the wall or wall, it will be enough to remove only one section of the flap using notch 7 as a line cutting. Analogously to what was described for the Figure 3 , the flooring element will be placed on the overhanging element.
  • FIG. 5a illustrates the use of the overhanging element according to the invention when the parts of the wall or the wall 25-1 and 25-2 form an interior corner at 90° between them.
  • FIG 5a shows the configuration where the flooring is not yet placed and the figure 5b where the floor covering is placed.
  • two overhanging elements 1-a and 1-b which form an angle of 90° between them, are placed on the elevation pad.
  • the overhanging element 1-a is entire and the overhanging element 1-ba has a reduced length since part of the base has been removed by making use of the break line 21.
