Definitions

  • the invention relates to a razor with a pivoting head and replaceable blades according to claim 1.
  • Razors have become ubiquitous and are used by people of different genders for their personal shaving needs.
  • Double-edged razors have long been known. Disposal of blades after a limited number of uses became popular and economical with the introduction of blades made of inexpensive, thin steel, which eliminated the need for stropping or honing. The safety feature of these razors, which protects the user from everything except the edge of the blade, appealed to users. The alignment of the handle and blade required the user to develop the correct technique to achieve an optimal shave. Disposable razors employ small, thin blades that are exposed only at the edge; they have a pivoting head that conforms to the contours of the area of the body to be shaved to a certain extent. However, the disposable razor is designed for only a short period of use because of the disposable blades' design and their limited lifespan.
  • WO 2016/081795 A1 It is also known, particularly from section [0040] of the description, to provide two "half blades” or two halves of a double-edged razor blade by cutting double-edged razor blades in half. Each half can contain a razor blade. The "half blades” can also be provided in this initial form without having to break a double-edged razor blade in half. By using the "half blades" in the head of a razor, a razor can provide a multiple razor blade configuration for shaving a person's face. It is also known from this document that certain "half blades" can be designed and configured to fit individually into the frame and cover of the head of a razor.
  • a razor with a handle and a head pivotably attached to the handle.
  • the head has a frame and a cover.
  • the razor comprises at least one razor blade which has a cutting edge and is mounted between the frame and the cover.
  • the at least one razor blade is exchangeably mounted between the frame and the cover.
  • the at least one razor blade can be inserted between the frame and the cover by means of actuatable, eccentrically arranged fixing means.
  • the fixing means can be passed through eccentric recesses located in the at least one razor blade.
  • the at least one razor blade can be connected to the frame and the cover by means of the fixing means.
  • At least two fixing means are provided which are arranged symmetrically off-center and thus close to the side edges of the at least one razor blade.
  • the symmetrical off-center arrangement of the fixing means enables a geometry of the head which includes a central recess on its upper edge.
  • a plurality of razor blades are used in the head of the razor according to the invention.
  • the razor blades are half blades, such as those made from WO 2016/081795 A1 are known.
  • V-shaped bulges located on the rear side of the razor blades, i.e. on the longitudinal edge opposite the cutting edge.
  • the symmetrical, off-center arrangement of the fixing means enables a geometry of the head which ensures very good accessibility to the problem areas to be shaved, particularly due to the large central recess on its upper edge.
  • This geometry is particularly advantageous for using the razor in the area between the upper lip and the lower edge of the nose. The same applies to other anatomically difficult to reach areas and problem areas that need to be shaved.
  • the position of the fixing means ensures that skin injuries are avoided and at the same time good accessibility is guaranteed to all areas of skin to be shaved.
  • the fixing devices make it easy to replace the razor blade or blades.
  • the fixing devices can be unlocked or released opposite the head.
  • Removing the fixing means exposes the at least one razor blade and spacers arranged between the razor blades or between a razor blade and the cover or between a razor blade and the frame.
  • the spacers can be reused if the at least one razor blade needs to be replaced because it has become blunt.
  • the razor only produces pure metal waste that can be recycled. This way, plastic waste can be avoided because only the metal razor blades need to be removed, which can easily be recycled as scrap metal.
  • the amount of waste can be significantly reduced when using the razor according to the invention.
  • At least two razor blades are arranged in the head of the razor, a small distance between the blade edges of the at least two razor blades is crucial for a thorough and at the same time gentle, safe and injury-free shave.
  • At least two razor blades are preferred, they are spaced apart by intermediate plates located between them.
  • a small distance for example less than 1 mm, preferably more than 0.3 mm, results from the distance between the blades, which by spacers located between the razor blades, and secondly by the backward position of the cutting edge of the upper razor blade in relation to the cutting edge of the razor blade below.
  • the position of the upper blades offset to the rear relative to the lower blade is defined according to the invention by the contact of the razor blades on front and/or rear bevels which are attached to the frame and/or the cover.
  • the angle of the bevels can be between 10° and 60°, based on the base area of the frame.
  • steps can be provided in the frame and/or in the cover, on which the razor blades and the spacer plates are placed.
  • the contact bevels can also be formed by other elements, such as screws.
  • the slopes define the horizontal and vertical position of the spacers.
  • the spacer plates are designed in such a way that in their rear area, i.e. on the side facing away from the cutting edges of the razor blades, above the upper edge of the razor blades, passages are created which allow hair, skin flakes, shaving foam and water removed by shaving to flow backwards. This makes it easy to keep the head of the razor clean.
  • a movable, in particular rotating, and/or elastic bearing is ensured, which allows the head to follow the contour of the region to be shaved and thus enables a gentle and safe shave.
  • the releasable locking mechanism utilizing the two fixing means is provided on the head of the shaver and is configured to hold the frame and the cover together.
  • the releasable locking mechanism may comprise knurled nuts, each mounted on a threaded shaft.
  • An embodiment of the invention is advantageous in which the two fixing means each comprise a threaded pin firmly connected in the frame or in the cover, on which there is a nut, preferably a knurled nut, with which the frame and the cover can be tightened with the razor blades and spacers in between.
  • the fixing means clamp the cover or frame onto the frame or cover vertically or at an angle of up to 40° from the vertical.
  • the vertical is defined by the surface of at least one razor blade.
  • threaded pins are provided as fixing means, which are firmly connected to a knurled wheel and are screwed into the cover in order to clamp the frame onto the cover or are screwed into the frame in order to clamp the cover onto the frame.
  • the handle is preferably ergonomically designed, similar to an S-shape, which avoids unwanted twisting during shaving.
  • the handle, the frame, the cover and the nuts are either made entirely of metal and are designed, for example, as a zinc die-cast component, or are at least partially made of a plastic, for example polypropylene.
  • a design according to which the handle is made, for example, of metal on its upper side and of plastic on its lower side is also advantageous. In this case, it is possible to adapt the lower side of the handle to the position of the fingers of the person shaving.
  • the use of a razor that can be dismantled and easily disassembled by loosening the knurled nut enables the metal razor blades to be changed quickly and easily.
  • the head of the razor is elastic in itself; in addition, the head of the razor can also be mounted in a movable, in particular rotatable, and/or elastic manner relative to the handle.
  • the head is mounted relative to a cylinder attached to the handle by means of an element that can be moved together with the head.
  • the element is mounted relative to the cylinder via a spring.
  • the head is connected to two extension elements of the handle via the frame.
  • the movable element and the cylinder are arranged between the extension elements.
  • the head is attached to the extension elements in a movable, in particular rotationally movable, and/or elastic manner by means of pins or screws.
  • a razor 1 ( Fig. 1 to 14 ) comprises a handle part or a handle 2 and a shaving head or head 3, which is preferably designed as a pivoting head.
  • the handle 2 comprises two extension elements 4, 5, between which the head 3 is held laterally by means of pins or screws 6.
  • the pins or screws 6 are inserted through holes in the extension elements 4, 5 and laterally inserted into a frame 7 of the head 3.
  • the pins 6 are held in the extension elements 4, 5 or the frame 7, for example by a snap-in connection, in a force-fitting manner or screwed, so that the head 3 remains pivotably connected to the handle 2.
  • a cylinder 8 extends in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the handle 2, which is firmly connected to the handle and forms an extension of the handle 2 in the direction of the head 3.
  • the cylinder 8 accommodates a movable element 9, which is supported by a coil spring 10 relative to the handle 2.
  • the coil spring 10 is received in a central bore 11 of the handle 2, which extends in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the handle.
  • the head 3 is elastically mounted relative to the handle 2.
  • the element 9 allows the head 3 to be pivoted during shaving and at the same time enables the head 3 to be pivoted back into its original position relative to the handle 2 after it has been removed from a contact contour.
  • a possible end position of the head 3 relative to the handle 2 against the spring force of the coil spring 10 is determined by a projection 12 attached to the frame 7 of the head 3, which forms a stop for the movable element 9.
  • a cover 15 is placed on the frame 7 of the head 3 and then fastened by means of fixing elements 16, 17.
  • the fixing elements 16, 17 are formed by threaded pins onto which knurled nuts 18, 19 can be screwed, which project beyond the frame 7 on both sides on the underside of the frame and are thus arranged near the side edges of the razor blades 13. This ensures that they cannot touch and injure the skin or get in the way of shaving, regardless of the position of the razor 1.
  • the cover 15 is pushed over the frame 7 by means of the fixing elements 16, 17 in such a way that it fits into recesses 20, 21 ( Fig.3 , 10 ) of the frame 7. In this way, the razor blades 13 together with the spacer plates 14 can be easily removed from the head 3 and new razor blades 13 can be reinserted.
  • fixing elements 16, 17 in conjunction with the knurled nuts 18, 19
  • other fixing elements can also be used, for example locking elements that are pressed into the corresponding locking openings, and the like.
  • the fixing elements 16, 17 connect the cover 15 to the frame 7 in such a way that they are fixed by V-shaped recesses 23 ( Fig.10 ) are guided through the rear edge of each of the razor blades 13, so that the fixing elements 16, 17 preferably have an angle of inclination with respect to the frame 7 and the cover 15 which corresponds to the angle which the front edges of the razor blades 13 form with each other with respect to the surface of the razor blades 13.
