Die Brandschutzklasse hängt dabei wesentlich von der Ausgestaltung des Türkörpers, der Zarge sowie der dazwischen angeordneten Dichtkonfiguration ab. Höhere Brandschutzeinstufungen erfordern dabei regelmäßig einen größeren Materialeinsatz und teurere Materialien. Insbesondere wird eine Verbesserung der Brandschutzklasse leicht durch eine Verstärkung des Türkörpers zu erzielen sein. Diese ist jedoch je nach Einsatzzweck aus ästhetischen Überlegungen oder Bedienungsgründen nicht möglich bzw. unerwünscht.
