Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cover with an edge which comprises a clamping and reinforcing bead.
  • the invention further relates to a packaging arrangement which comprises a trough-shaped container containing an opening edge and a lid which detachably closes the container.
  • Lids for closing containers are widely known.
  • a lid made of plastic or cardboard is provided with an edge for secure closure so that the edge, when placed on the container, snaps into place over a bead provided on the container and thus closes the container and also makes it resealable.
  • the U.S. 3,107,838 A an at least partially clamping connection between the lid and the container can be removed.
  • an object of an embodiment of the invention can be seen in providing a lid which allows a container to be securely closed even when the opening of the container is opened surrounding opening edge is smooth-surfaced or structure-free and possibly also thin-walled.
  • the embodiment provides a lid with an edge which comprises a clamping and stiffening bead, which has clamping sections distributed on the inside over the edge for creating a releasable clamping connection between an opening edge of a container and the cover, the clamping section having a first, second and a third clamping projection protruding into the bead, the first clamping projection being arranged on one side of the bead and the second and third clamping projection being arranged on the other side of the bead, the first clamping projection being arranged opposite between the second and the third clamping projection and being formed in this way that an opening edge pushed into the bead can be pressed by the first clamping projection at least partially between the second and the third clamping projection.
  • the clamping section or sections is characterized in that it has a first, second and third clamping projection, between which an opening edge of a container can be clamped in such a way that the opening edge can be pressed at least partially between the second and the third clamping projection by the first clamping projection, the unique possibility arises of also closing containers with the lid according to the invention that could not be securely closed before, because their edge was not provided with beads, undercuts, clamping reinforcements or in some other way, such as a thin-walled cardboard container, did not have the stability to be closed by clamping or locking with a lid.
  • the term opening edge unless otherwise stated in the relevant context, is understood to mean an edge which is free of visible latching or Terminal elevations are used to hold the lid on the opening edge and which also contain at least a form fit.
  • a strength according to the embodiment according to the invention can be seen in the fact that frictional connection points generated by the individual clamping sections due to pressure and friction are created, which already exert a holding function in relation to the container or its container edge or the container wall.
  • the frictional connection can be influenced in a targeted manner, so that the clamping connection can be flexibly adapted to defined carrying weights and / or container edge thicknesses and / or coatings of the container edge.
  • the edge is shortened in its length by the wave-like clamping of the container edge - the edge runs, namely in the clamped state in a wave-like manner past the projections - whereby the edge is shortened against the inside of the clamping and Stiffening bead is pressed, so that an additional clamping effect is caused.
  • first clamping projection and the second and third clamping projection overlap at least partially in terms of height in the bead.
  • the latter especially when the container edge is relatively thin-walled, because the overlapping in terms of height ensures in particular that the opening edge can be pressed by the first between the second and third clamping projection.
  • the degree of overlapping effects the strength of the wave-like shape of the opening edge in the seat between the clamping projections, the thinner the wall thickness of the edge, the greater the overlap being preferred. In other words, the degree of overlapping decreases with the wall thickness of the edge. Or conversely, the thinner-walled the edge, the more preferably the height overlap.
  • the degree of overlap is of course also based on the frictional forces between the surfaces.
  • a vertical overlap is understood in particular to mean that the first clamping projection within the clamping and reinforcing bead on its opposite side, at least at the level of the clamping maxima, cannot be pushed past the second and / or third opposite clamping projection in the event of an imaginary displacement on its bead side would.
  • the clamping maximum of the first clamping projection is arranged offset with respect to the bead base both to the clamping maximum of the second and the third clamping projection.
  • the offset arrangement creates an insertion slot or insertion area between the clamping projections, through which the opening edge can be pushed in a simple manner. If the clamping projections or their clamping maxima are arranged in such a way, it is possible that the opening edge can be pushed into the bead without the bead having to be widened in width when pushing in, because by pushing in over the push-in area, the opening edge can be directly in the corrugated clamping position are guided between the projections.
  • the respective offset and / or overlap is based in particular on the strength or thickness of the opening edge. It can be said that the thinner the edge, the smaller the offset and, as already stated, the greater the overlap should be. Of course, the other factors for a tight press fit defined according to the invention must also be included.
  • the clamping maxima of the second and third clamping projections are arranged on a line parallel to the bead base. With such an alignment it can be achieved that the opening edge can be pushed as evenly or straight as possible between the clamping projections. In this case, an acute-angled triangle lying obliquely in space can be imagined between the clamping maxima.
  • first clamping projection is arranged centrally between the second and third clamping projection.
  • This type of alignment of the first clamping projection in relation to the second and third clamping projection also offers advantages for the opening edge to be pushed in as uniformly as possible.
  • the connecting lines between the clamping maxima can be described as an isosceles triangle lying in space.
  • a possible expedient embodiment according to the invention can also consist in that the first clamping projection is arranged on the outside and the second and the third clamping projection are arranged on the inside in the bead.
  • Such an arrangement is particularly useful when the opening edge extends obliquely outwards and enters the bead accordingly obliquely and possibly even counter-conically with respect to the wall outside of the clamping and reinforcing bead.
  • the opening edge then meets the first clamping projection first and can then be pressed or guided by the latter into the space between the second and third clamping projection.
  • knobs are understood to mean hump-like elevations on a surface. Knobs have the advantage that they can be positioned specifically on the inside of the bead in order to ensure a secure press fit.
  • the second and third clamping projections are wedge-shaped.
  • the wedge shape offers the advantage that the opening edge is guided laterally along the projections in the clamping and reinforcing bead, so that no canting occurs in the bead and especially along the bead base, which could negatively affect the secure fit of the opening edge in the bead.
  • a wedge shape, a wedge-like shape or a comparable sliding piece can of course also be advantageous, in addition or as an alternative to the first clamping section.
  • the bead is expediently formed by a bead base and a first and second wall, the first wall extending obliquely inward from the bead base and the second wall extending obliquely outward from the bead base.
  • the clamping and stiffening bead is thus given a roof-like shape, which is very suitable for guiding the opening edge onto the bead floor.
  • the lid for closing the container can initially be placed loosely on the container and centers itself along the opening edge due to the roof-like shape before it is transferred or pressed with a certain pressure into the clamping position caused by the clamping sections.
  • this design provides very good cover and edge stiffening.
  • the second wall contains a bead protrusion which then enables even better self-centering of the lid on the container or the opening edge with reference to the opening edge.
  • the bead overhang also even better stiffening of the edge or the clamping and stiffening bead can be achieved.
  • the extended second wall gives the possibility of a freer or more targeted arrangement of the first, or the second and third clamping projection.
  • the second bead wall including bead projection has a height of 10 mm to 20 mm, further preferably a height of 12 mm to 18 mm and very particularly preferably a height of 14 mm to 16 mm. Especially in the latter area, but also beyond that, according to the invention a particularly good self-centering of the lid on the container has resulted.
  • the second wall can at least partially have a corrugated structure on which the clamping projections can be impressed.
  • the latter preferably where one of the wave peaks characterizing the wave structure at least tends to protrude into the bead.
  • the cover expediently also comprises a hood which shoots the cover upwards and which is connected to the first wall and thus to the edge via a connecting web.
  • sliding and centering projections projecting on the locking side are provided evenly distributed over the edge, which preferably project at least partially from the connecting web and which preferably corresponds to an extension of the second bead wall inside, so that the sliding surface has a sliding Forms transition to the inside of the bead wall.
  • the sliding and centering projections also have a stiffening function for the cover and the edge.
  • a particularly preferred embodiment provides that the sliding surface is matched to the size of the container in such a way that when it is put on it runs slidingly along or slidingly parallel to the opening edge.
  • the sliding surface also forms a support surface for the opening edge in such a way that the length contraction of the opening edge caused by the clamping sections creates an inwardly directed force effect, which can then be intercepted not only by the first bead wall, but also to a greater extent by the sliding surface Result leads to an improved press fit of the lid on the container.
  • the cover is derived from a rectangular basic shape and the sliding and centering projections are advantageously located in the corner areas of the cover.
  • This not only has the advantage that such a lid is stiffened even better, especially in the corners, it also means that the lid can be placed loosely and self-centering on the container even better, because this is especially the case with angular containers In the corner areas when lids are put on, it tends to tilt, so that it is even easier to be pressed into the clamping and reinforcing bead.
  • the above-described contraction effect in a container derived from a square causes increased active forces, especially in the corner areas, which can be absorbed by the sliding surface - the latter in particular when the sliding surface runs along the corner and thus, as it were, depicts the course of the opening edge as a negative - whereby an improved grip between the lid and the container is achieved.
