Definitions
- the invention relates to a drain fitting for a shower or bathtub, with a housing having an inlet opening and a drain socket, the housing having a drain channel projecting in the shape of an arm, at the end of which the drain socket is arranged, the drain channel forming a odor trap having a wave-shaped, has a channel section defining an overflow edge, the channel section having a convex bottom section, viewed in longitudinal section, which extends at least as far as the overflow edge, and having a seal surrounding the inlet opening, which has a sealing surface designed to rest against the underside of a tub floor.
- Such a drain fitting for shower trays is from DE 10 2006 053 756 A1 known.
- the housing of the drain fitting has an interior space that is accessible from the inlet opening and is delimited by boundary walls that are integrally connected to the housing.
- a water channel is designed as a drainage channel, which first leads upwards from a bottom of the housing and there in a U-shaped arc again a little way down and then horizontally outwards.
- the housing part that has the water channel is shaped in such a way that the water channel always has a rectangular cross section when viewed in the direction of flow.
- the water supply is sealed liquid-tight by a separately manufactured front cover. For this purpose, the cover is welded to the housing part that has the water supply.
- a transition piece is welded to the end of the water channel, which serves to connect the water channel, which has a rectangular cross-section, to a pipe with a circular cross-section.
- the transition piece represents the actual discharge socket of the housing.
- the housing of this discharge fitting is therefore made up of three parts.
- the AT 335 369 B discloses an odor trap for drain installations on shower trays, bathtubs and the like.
- a vertical inlet connection with a vertical inlet connection, a preferably horizontal outlet connection and an intermediate, extending in the vertical plane, at least partially oblique connecting part with a cross-section whose height is less than its width is.
- the connecting part consists of two sloping tube parts connected by a vertical leg. The tube parts are connected to each other via a joint.
- the CN 102720252A discloses a low profile floor drain device.
- the device comprises a drain housing, a bowl-shaped drain gutter and an in the grate plate used in the drainage channel.
- the drain channel has a vertical drain socket on its underside, which is inserted into the drain housing.
- the drain housing has a lateral, wavy drain channel and an immersion tube inserted into the inlet opening of the drain housing.
- the DE 20 2014 007 392 U1 shows a water drain with a drain pan on the inlet side, a drain line connected to it and a multiple siphon odor trap, which has an internal air area.
- An air channel is provided in the water drain between the internal air area and an air area at the edge.
- a pipe socket is inserted into the drain pot, which can be connected to a shower drain channel. Due to the multiple deflection within the siphon, two sealing water reservoirs are formed, which enable a reliable odor trap even with a low construction height.
- the air duct located in the second bend prevents the formation of negative pressure in the outflow area of the siphon, which under certain circumstances can lead to the odor trap being completely emptied.
- the object of the invention is to create a drain fitting of the type mentioned at the outset that has a low overall height for floor-level installation of shower trays, can be cleaned comparatively easily and still offers a sufficient sealing water height for a reliable odor trap and a standard-compliant drainage capacity.
- the drain fitting according to the invention is characterized in that a housing section of the drain channel located above the overflow edge in the functional position of the drain fitting, ie in the assembled state of the drain fitting Sealing surface protrudes upwards, the shortest horizontal distance of the highest point of the overflow edge from the circumferential inner surface of the inlet opening at least 0.9 times, preferably at least 1.1 times, particularly preferably at least 1.2 times the horizontal inner width of the inlet opening, the convex bottom section being designed in such a way that its radius of curvature is greater than half the height of the housing, the housing having a flange carrying the seal, and the overflow edge being at the same level as or higher than the flange carrying the seal or lower than the flange supporting the gasket, where if the lip is lower than the flange, the vertical distance of the lip from the top of the flange is no more than 8mm, preferably no more than 5mm.
- the inlet opening can also be referred to as the inlet opening.
- the horizontal inner width of the inlet opening corresponds to the inner diameter of the inlet opening. If, on the other hand, the inlet opening is, for example, essentially semi-cylindrical, oval or elliptical, the horizontal inner width of the inlet opening corresponds to the smallest horizontal inner width of the inlet opening.
- the shortest horizontal distance of the highest point of the overflow edge of the outlet fitting according to the invention can also be defined in relation to the vertical central axis of the inlet opening.
- the shortest horizontal distance of the highest point of the overflow edge from the central axis of the essentially circular-cylindrical inlet opening is at least 1.5 times, preferably at least 1.6 times, particularly preferably at least 1.8 times the horizontal inner width or the inner diameter of the inlet opening.
- the present invention makes use of the fact that bathtubs and shower trays normally have a circumferential edge region at their floor drain opening that protrudes downwards compared to the underside of the tub floor.
- the invention is based on the basic idea of making ideal use of the available space under the tub floor in terms of height and width for the drain fitting and achieving as few changes in direction as possible in terms of flow in the drain fitting and preferably the smallest possible changes in cross section.
- the shortest horizontal distance between the highest point of the overflow edge and the circumferential inner surface of the inlet opening is at least 0.9 times, preferably at least 1.1 times, particularly preferably at least 1.2 times the horizontal inner width of the inlet opening .
- a wave-shaped discharge channel can be achieved which, while ensuring a sufficient or standard-compliant sealing water height, has relatively large deflection radii and therefore no sharp changes in direction. This considerably facilitates the introduction of a cleaning spiral into the wave-shaped discharge channel.
- the odor trap of the drain fitting according to the invention is designed without a dip tube.
- no removable, separately manufactured immersion tube is inserted into the drain fitting, which in conventional drain fittings of shower trays forms part of an odor trap. Due to the omission of the dip tube and the fact that the dip tube does not have to be dismantled when cleaning the drain fitting, not only is the effort required for cleaning reduced, but a cost advantage can also be achieved by eliminating the dip tube production.
- the overflow edge is at the same level as or higher than a flange of the housing that carries the seal, or alternatively, the overflow edge is lower than the flange of the housing that carries the seal, in which case the vertical distance of the overflow edge from the top of the flange supporting the seal is not more than 8 mm, preferably not more than 5 mm. In this way, a further reduction in the overall height of the drain fitting can be achieved while ensuring a sufficient level of sealing water.
- the wavy channel section has a concave bottom section, viewed in longitudinal section, the arc radius of which is greater than the overall height of the housing according to the invention, makes it particularly easier to insert a cleaning spiral into the wavy outlet channel.
- the wavy channel section has a convex bottom section, viewed in longitudinal section, which extends at least to the overflow edge and whose arc radius is greater than half the overall height of the housing. This configuration also contributes to particularly easy insertion of a cleaning spiral into the corrugated discharge channel.
- a further embodiment of the invention provides that the housing of the drain fitting is composed of a lower housing part and an upper housing part, with the lower housing part and the upper housing part being connected to one another in a liquid-tight manner by a circumferential connecting seam, and with the connecting seam being on opposite longitudinal sides of the corrugated channel section of the Drain channel runs.
- the housing parts can be made of plastic, for example, by injection molding.
- the circumferential connecting seam between the lower part of the housing and the upper part of the housing is preferably designed as a weld seam.
- a further embodiment of the invention is that the drain socket is designed for connecting a drain pipe having a circular cross-section and is in one piece with the lower housing part is trained.
- the housing of the drain fitting according to the invention can thus essentially be composed of only two housing parts.
- the outflow fitting according to the invention is thus characterized by a very small number of components. This refinement reduces the production costs and the risk of leaking connection points occurring, in particular leaking weld seams.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the width of the drainage channel, seen in the water drainage direction, decreases between the overflow edge and the drainage socket.
- the width of the drain channel thus tapers from or after the overflow edge in the direction of the drain socket. In this way, shoulders or edges, which can interfere with the introduction of a cleaning spiral into the discharge nozzle and a pipeline connected to it, are avoided.
- the wave-shaped discharge channel or channel section preferably has a substantially uniform width (internal width) from its beginning below the inlet opening to the overflow edge.
- the width of the drainage channel measured orthogonally to the channel base area, increases after the overflow edge in the direction of the drainage connection piece.
- the inlet opening of the housing is defined by an inner wall of the housing which is essentially circular-cylindrical or has wall sections in the shape of a circular arc, the wall sections in the shape of a circular arc having radially inwardly protruding wall sections Wall sections connected to each other are, in which threaded sleeves are accommodated.
- the threaded sleeves are used to attach the drain fitting to the floor drain opening of a shower or bathtub.
- a further advantageous embodiment provides that the wall sections protruding radially inwards are aligned with wall sections protruding radially from the outside of the housing, that is to say from the outside of the housing.
- the housing has a bottom surface which faces the inlet opening and runs inclined in the direction of the outlet channel.
- the drain fitting according to the invention is designed in such a way that the distance between the underside of its housing and the sealing surface intended for contact with the underside of a tray floor (in the installed state on the tray floor ) is less than 75 mm, preferably less than 70 mm, particularly preferably less than 60 mm.
- a preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the housing section of the outflow channel located above the overflow edge projects beyond the sealing surface by at least 10 mm.
- Yet another embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the sealing surface intended for contact with the underside of a trough floor is provided with an adapter ring which has a vertical thickness of at least 5 mm, preferably at least 10 mm.
- This configuration allows Installation of the drain fitting according to the invention also in those showers or bathtubs in which a peripheral at their floor drain opening, compared to the bottom of the tub bottom downwardly protruding edge region projects only at a relatively small distance from the bottom of the tub bottom.
- the drain fittings 1,1' shown in the drawing are intended for mounting on a circular floor drain opening of a bath or shower tub.
- the drain fittings 1, 1' are suitable for bathtubs and shower tubs which, when installed, offer little space under the tub floor for the arrangement of a drain fitting to be fixed to the floor drain opening. This applies in particular to shower trays that are to be installed flush with the floor.
- the edge region of the tub base surrounding the floor drain opening of a bath or shower tray usually projects downwards relative to the underside of the tub base, with a conical base section continuously merging into a substantially horizontal base section that delimits the floor drain opening.
- the drain fitting 1 shown has a housing 2 with an inlet opening 3 and an arm-shaped projecting drain channel 2.1, at the end of which a drain connector 2.2 is arranged.
- the drain socket 2.2 is designed for connecting a drain pipe 4 having a circular cross-section, for example a pipe bend.
- the outlet connection 2.2 is preferably provided with a sealing ring 5 and a union nut 6 and has an external thread 2.3 for this purpose.
- the drain pipe 4 is inserted into the drain connector 2.2 and connected to it in a liquid-tight manner with the interposition of the sealing ring 5 by means of the union nut 6 .
- the drain fitting 1 includes a seal 7 surrounding the inlet opening 3, which has a sealing surface 7.1 intended for contact with the underside of the tub floor.
- the ring-shaped seal 7 is in sealing contact with the underside of the essentially horizontal tub floor section delimiting the floor drain opening of the tub floor.
- the seal 7 has an axial portion or collar 7.2 and two radially outwardly projecting flanged portions 7.3, 7.4 thereof, the lower portion 7.3 being intended to abut the underside of the pan and the other portion 7.4 to abut the inside of the pan.
- a conically shaped fastening ring 8 is assigned to the inlet opening 3 of the housing 2 in order to fix the drain fitting to the drain opening in the tub floor.
- the fastening ring 8 is to be arranged on the inside of the tub and is preferably made of stainless steel. It has holes that are used to carry out the shanks of fastening screws 9 .
- the housing inner wall 2.4 defining the inlet opening 3 is essentially circular-cylindrical or has three arcuate wall sections 2.41, these wall sections 2.41 being connected to one another in one piece via radially inwardly projecting, essentially vertical wall sections 2.42.
- the wall regions 2.42 are aligned with the wall sections 2.43 which protrude radially from the outside of the housing 2 and which also run essentially vertically.
- threaded sleeves 10 are introduced into the housing wall, into which the fastening screws 9 are or are screwed.
- three metal threaded sleeves 10 are integrated in the housing 2 made of plastic, for example polypropylene, with the threaded sleeves 10 being spaced evenly apart from one another.
- the drain channel 2.1 has a wave-shaped channel section 2.11 that defines an overflow edge 2.5.
- the overflow edge 2.5 is higher than the lower edge 2.6 of the inner housing wall 2.4 delimiting the inlet opening 3, with the lower edge 2.6 of the inner housing wall delimiting the inlet opening of the outflow channel 2.1 at the top.
- the drain fitting 1, 1' is designed in such a way that a housing section 2.12 of the drain channel 2.1 located above the overflow edge 2.5 in the functional position of the drain fitting 1, 1' projects upwards beyond the sealing surface 7.1 (see in particular Figures 4, 5 , 9 and 10 ).
- the housing section 2.12 of the discharge channel located above the overflow edge 2.5 preferably protrudes beyond the sealing surface 7.1 at least 10 mm, for example by an amount in the range 10 to 13 mm.
- the overflow edge 2.5 is preferably at the same level or even higher than a flange 2.7 of the housing 2 carrying the seal 7.
- the sealing water level in the Figures 1 to 5 drain fitting 1 shown is, for example, about 30 mm.
- the wave-shaped discharge channel 2.1 is fluidically designed in such a way that it has as few changes in direction as possible and as few changes in cross section as possible.
- the shortest horizontal distance A K of the highest point of the overflow edge 2.5 from the circumferential inner surface of the inlet opening 3 is comparatively large.
- the shortest horizontal distance A K of the highest point of the overflow edge 2.5 from the circumferential inner surface of the inlet opening 3 is at least 0.9 times, preferably at least 1.1 times, particularly preferably at least 1.2 times the horizontal inner width of the inlet opening 3 is.
- the inlet opening 3 is essentially circular-cylindrical.
- a shortest horizontal distance A KM of the highest point of the overflow edge 2.5 of the outlet fitting 1, 1' according to the invention can also be defined in relation to the vertical central axis M of the inlet opening 3.
- the shortest horizontal distance A KM of the highest point of the overflow edge 2.5 from the central axis M of the inlet opening 3 is more than 1.8 times, for example approximately twice the inner diameter or the smallest horizontal inner width D of the inlet opening 3 .
- the wavy drain channel 2.1 viewed in longitudinal section, has a concave bottom section 2.13 in the area between the inlet opening 3 and the overflow edge 2.5, the arc radius of which is greater than the overall height H 1 of the housing 2 of the drain fitting (see in particular Figures 4, 5 and 9.10 ):
- the concave bottom section 2.13 is followed by a convex one viewed in the longitudinal section of the discharge channel Channel bottom section 2.14, which extends at least to the overflow edge 2.5 or beyond, the arc radius of the convex bottom section 2.14 being greater than half the overall height H 1 of the housing 2 of the drain fitting 1, 1'.
- the outlet channel 2.1 Along its length, starting from the essentially circular-cylindrical inlet opening 3 to the overflow edge 2.5, the outlet channel 2.1 has an essentially constant width B or inner width and an essentially constant width W 1 , the latter being orthogonal to the channel base area running in a wave-like manner is to be measured (see in particular 2 , 5 and 7 , 10 ).
- the width B of the drainage channel 2.1 decreases after the overflow edge 2.5 in the direction of the essentially circular-cylindrical drainage connection piece 2.2.
- the width B of the drain channel 2.1 thus tapers after the overflow edge 2.5 in the direction of the drain socket 2.2.
- the housing 2 of the drain fitting 1, 1' is composed of a lower housing part 2.8 and an upper housing part 2.9, which are connected to one another in a liquid-tight manner by a peripheral connecting seam 2.10, preferably a welded seam.

- the connecting seam 2.10 On the end face of the housing 2 opposite the outlet socket 2.2, the connecting seam 2.10 has a semicircular seam section 21, while it is contour-parallel along the longitudinal sides of the wavy outlet channel 2.1 and thus also has a wavy course 22 on both longitudinal sides.
- At least one stiffening rib 2.81; 2.91 provided, which is formed in one piece with the lower housing part 2.8 or the upper housing part 2.9.
- the drain fitting 1 shown is that the channel bottom section 26 following the overflow edge 2.5 in the direction of the water flow has a significantly greater gradient and is designed in sections as a steep inclined surface 26.1 or inclined plane.

- the distance A SM of the end of the outlet connection piece 2.2 from the central axis M of the inlet opening 3 is essentially the same for the two outlet fittings 1, 1' shown in the drawing and is, for example, approximately 225 mm. This will be at the in the Figures 6 to 10 shown drain fitting 1 ', which offers a sealing water height of about 50 mm and whose overflow edge 2.5 is slightly further away from the central axis M of the inlet opening 3 than in the drain fitting 1 according to 4 , achieved in particular by the steep inclined surface 26.1 of the channel bottom following the overflow edge 2.5.

Description
The invention relates to a drain fitting for a shower or bathtub, with a housing having an inlet opening and a drain socket, the housing having a drain channel projecting in the shape of an arm, at the end of which the drain socket is arranged, the drain channel forming a odor trap having a wave-shaped, has a channel section defining an overflow edge, the channel section having a convex bottom section, viewed in longitudinal section, which extends at least as far as the overflow edge, and having a seal surrounding the inlet opening, which has a sealing surface designed to rest against the underside of a tub floor.
Nowadays, low sanitary drain fittings are often required for the construction and renovation of bathrooms. Although conventional drain fittings for shower trays offer a standard-compliant drainage capacity, they are often unable to meet the special requirements in terms of a flat design for low installation spaces due to their overall height. With conventional drain fittings, it is hardly possible to install shower trays flush with the floor due to their height. In addition, there is sometimes the problem of cleaning shower and bathtub drains if they are clogged with hair or other deposits. The cleaning of shower drains is often only possible with increased effort, for example by dismantling immersion pipes or plugs in order to enable or facilitate the insertion of cleaning spirals or other cleaning tools.

Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to create a drain fitting of the type mentioned at the outset that has a low overall height for floor-level installation of shower trays, can be cleaned comparatively easily and still offers a sufficient sealing water height for a reliable odor trap and a standard-compliant drainage capacity.
This problem is solved by a drain fitting with the features specified in
The drain fitting according to the invention is characterized in that a housing section of the drain channel located above the overflow edge in the functional position of the drain fitting, ie in the assembled state of the drain fitting Sealing surface protrudes upwards, the shortest horizontal distance of the highest point of the overflow edge from the circumferential inner surface of the inlet opening at least 0.9 times, preferably at least 1.1 times, particularly preferably at least 1.2 times the horizontal inner width of the inlet opening, the convex bottom section being designed in such a way that its radius of curvature is greater than half the height of the housing, the housing having a flange carrying the seal, and the overflow edge being at the same level as or higher than the flange carrying the seal or lower than the flange supporting the gasket, where if the lip is lower than the flange, the vertical distance of the lip from the top of the flange is no more than 8mm, preferably no more than 5mm.
The inlet opening can also be referred to as the inlet opening.
If the inlet opening is essentially circular or circular-cylindrical, the horizontal inner width of the inlet opening corresponds to the inner diameter of the inlet opening. If, on the other hand, the inlet opening is, for example, essentially semi-cylindrical, oval or elliptical, the horizontal inner width of the inlet opening corresponds to the smallest horizontal inner width of the inlet opening.
If the inlet opening is essentially circular-cylindrical, the shortest horizontal distance of the highest point of the overflow edge of the outlet fitting according to the invention can also be defined in relation to the vertical central axis of the inlet opening. In this case, the shortest horizontal distance of the highest point of the overflow edge from the central axis of the essentially circular-cylindrical inlet opening is at least 1.5 times, preferably at least 1.6 times, particularly preferably at least 1.8 times the horizontal inner width or the inner diameter of the inlet opening.
The present invention makes use of the fact that bathtubs and shower trays normally have a circumferential edge region at their floor drain opening that protrudes downwards compared to the underside of the tub floor. The invention is based on the basic idea of making ideal use of the available space under the tub floor in terms of height and width for the drain fitting and achieving as few changes in direction as possible in terms of flow in the drain fitting and preferably the smallest possible changes in cross section.
Because the shortest horizontal distance between the highest point of the overflow edge and the circumferential inner surface of the inlet opening is at least 0.9 times, preferably at least 1.1 times, particularly preferably at least 1.2 times the horizontal inner width of the inlet opening , a wave-shaped discharge channel can be achieved which, while ensuring a sufficient or standard-compliant sealing water height, has relatively large deflection radii and therefore no sharp changes in direction. This considerably facilitates the introduction of a cleaning spiral into the wave-shaped discharge channel.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the odor trap of the drain fitting according to the invention is designed without a dip tube. In this case, no removable, separately manufactured immersion tube is inserted into the drain fitting, which in conventional drain fittings of shower trays forms part of an odor trap. Due to the omission of the dip tube and the fact that the dip tube does not have to be dismantled when cleaning the drain fitting, not only is the effort required for cleaning reduced, but a cost advantage can also be achieved by eliminating the dip tube production.
According to the invention, the overflow edge is at the same level as or higher than a flange of the housing that carries the seal, or alternatively, the overflow edge is lower than the flange of the housing that carries the seal, in which case the vertical distance of the overflow edge from the top of the flange supporting the seal is not more than 8 mm, preferably not more than 5 mm. In this way, a further reduction in the overall height of the drain fitting can be achieved while ensuring a sufficient level of sealing water.
The fact that the wavy channel section has a concave bottom section, viewed in longitudinal section, the arc radius of which is greater than the overall height of the housing according to the invention, makes it particularly easier to insert a cleaning spiral into the wavy outlet channel.
According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the wavy channel section has a convex bottom section, viewed in longitudinal section, which extends at least to the overflow edge and whose arc radius is greater than half the overall height of the housing. This configuration also contributes to particularly easy insertion of a cleaning spiral into the corrugated discharge channel.
A further embodiment of the invention provides that the housing of the drain fitting is composed of a lower housing part and an upper housing part, with the lower housing part and the upper housing part being connected to one another in a liquid-tight manner by a circumferential connecting seam, and with the connecting seam being on opposite longitudinal sides of the corrugated channel section of the Drain channel runs. This configuration is favorable in terms of manufacturing technology. The housing parts can be made of plastic, for example, by injection molding. The circumferential connecting seam between the lower part of the housing and the upper part of the housing is preferably designed as a weld seam.
In this context, a further embodiment of the invention is that the drain socket is designed for connecting a drain pipe having a circular cross-section and is in one piece with the lower housing part is trained. The housing of the drain fitting according to the invention can thus essentially be composed of only two housing parts. The outflow fitting according to the invention is thus characterized by a very small number of components. This refinement reduces the production costs and the risk of leaking connection points occurring, in particular leaking weld seams.
A further advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the width of the drainage channel, seen in the water drainage direction, decreases between the overflow edge and the drainage socket. The width of the drain channel thus tapers from or after the overflow edge in the direction of the drain socket. In this way, shoulders or edges, which can interfere with the introduction of a cleaning spiral into the discharge nozzle and a pipeline connected to it, are avoided.
The wave-shaped discharge channel or channel section preferably has a substantially uniform width (internal width) from its beginning below the inlet opening to the overflow edge. As a result, the available space under a shower tray, in particular a shower tray to be installed flush with the floor, can be ideally used.
For a high drainage capacity of the drainage fitting that conforms to standards, it is advantageous if, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the width of the drainage channel, measured orthogonally to the channel base area, increases after the overflow edge in the direction of the drainage connection piece.
With regard to a high or standard-compliant drainage capacity of the drain fitting, it is also favorable if, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the inlet opening of the housing is defined by an inner wall of the housing which is essentially circular-cylindrical or has wall sections in the shape of a circular arc, the wall sections in the shape of a circular arc having radially inwardly protruding wall sections Wall sections connected to each other are, in which threaded sleeves are accommodated. The threaded sleeves are used to attach the drain fitting to the floor drain opening of a shower or bathtub. The aforementioned design of the housing inner wall delimiting the inlet opening enables an ideal degree of overlap with the floor drain opening of the shower or bathtub and thus, with a material-saving design of the drain fitting, a high or standardized drainage capacity of the same. In this context, a further advantageous embodiment provides that the wall sections protruding radially inwards are aligned with wall sections protruding radially from the outside of the housing, that is to say from the outside of the housing.
According to a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the housing has a bottom surface which faces the inlet opening and runs inclined in the direction of the outlet channel. This configuration promotes a high drainage capacity of the drain fitting, improves the reliability of the odor trap and makes it easier to insert a cleaning spiral into the drain channel.
In order to be able to install a shower tray flush with the floor in a simple manner, it is advantageous if the drain fitting according to the invention is designed in such a way that the distance between the underside of its housing and the sealing surface intended for contact with the underside of a tray floor (in the installed state on the tray floor ) is less than 75 mm, preferably less than 70 mm, particularly preferably less than 60 mm. In order to make ideal use of the available space in terms of height, a preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the housing section of the outflow channel located above the overflow edge projects beyond the sealing surface by at least 10 mm.
Yet another embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the sealing surface intended for contact with the underside of a trough floor is provided with an adapter ring which has a vertical thickness of at least 5 mm, preferably at least 10 mm. This configuration allows Installation of the drain fitting according to the invention also in those showers or bathtubs in which a peripheral at their floor drain opening, compared to the bottom of the tub bottom downwardly protruding edge region projects only at a relatively small distance from the bottom of the tub bottom.
