Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a step ladder, in particular a step ladder, with a riser part that has two stiles and steps or rungs arranged between the stiles, and with a support part that has two stiles and cross members arranged between the stiles, the riser part and the support part being pivotable are connected to one another and wherein the stepladder has a one-part or multi-part platform which, when the stepladder is in the erected state, forms an uppermost standing surface for a user of the stepladder or a storage area.
  • Such a stepladder is in the document EP 0 774 562 A1 disclosed.
  • the support part supports the riser part of the stepladder, on the steps of which the user can climb.
  • the stepladder has a so-called stiffening board which is pivotably attached to the support part. In a pivoted-in state, the stiffening board is provided in the plane of the support part. In a swiveled-out state, the stiffening board is arranged horizontally. One end of the stiffening board is then attached to the riser. Then the riser part and the support part are locked against each other.
  • the top step of the riser under the platform is enlarged by the stiffening board and the stiffening board on the support part forms a step that is at the same level as the top step of the riser.
  • a disadvantage of the document EP 0 774 562 A1 well-known ladder is that the user of the ladder has no way of looking to be held when standing on the platform or the top step of the riser or the stiffening board.
  • swiveling stiffening board entails a number of pinching points or shear points, which pose a risk of injury.
  • a stepladder or a folding step with the features mentioned above is known, in which the support part of the stepladder has at least one rung or step which is arranged between the spars of the support part, this rung or step of the support part a distance from the lower end of the spars of the support part, which is a multiple of the distance between the rungs or steps of the riser part.
  • the top step or rung of the support part is firmly connected to the spars and is not part of a means that has to be swiveled out. There is therefore no risk of injury when operating the step or rung.
  • the top step or rung of the support part is so high that it cannot be climbed from the ground.
  • a ladder according to the invention is therefore not a stepladder that can be climbed from two sides.
  • Two parts of the spars of the riser that protrude beyond the platform are connected to one another via a first cross member.
  • This first cross member can be used as a holding means on which a user can hold on. As a result, there is an additional way to hold on to the bars.
  • the first traverse is arranged close to the platform. As a result, the first traverse hinders a user when he wants to stand on the platform. In addition, due to the proximity of the first cross member to the platform, it is not possible for the user to hold on to the first cross member when he is standing on the first platform. Also the first traverse possibly prevents a user from standing with a first foot on the top step of the riser part and with the second foot on the top step of the support part.
  • the invention was therefore based on the object of improving a step ladder of the type mentioned in such a way that it offers possibilities that a user can easily stand on the platform or with one foot on a step or rung of the riser and with the other foot to stand on a step or rung of the support part and to take the platform in the middle between his feet without being hindered by the first cross member.
  • the lowest step or rung of the support part when the stepladder is in the erected state, is arranged vertically under the first cross member between the parts of the spars of the riser that protrude beyond the platform.
  • the idea behind this is that the user can use the traverse or the holding means to orient himself to where the lowest step or rung of the support part or platform ends. On the basis of the traverse or the holding means, the user can see without looking down where the lowest step or rung of the support part or platform ends. This can be an advantage, especially for work that does not allow you to look down.
  • the first cross member does not hinder a user when he is standing on the platform or with at least one foot on the steps or rungs of the support part.
  • the distance between the uppermost step or rung of the support part and the lower end of the spars of the support part is preferably a multiple of the distance between the steps or rungs of the ascending part or the uppermost steps or rungs and the platform.
  • a ladder according to the invention is over the riser climbed. If a user has reached the top step or rung of the riser or the platform, he can place one of the feet or both on the top step or rung of the support part. In particular, he can put one foot on the top step or rung and take the platform in the middle. He can stand so comfortably without having to stand on the platform, which often causes some users to feel uncomfortable for no objective reason.
  • both spars of the riser protrude over the platform.
  • the user of the ladder can then hold on to the part of the stile or parts of the stiles protruding over the platform.
  • the traverse or the holding means between the parts of the spars of the riser that protrude beyond the platform can be bent or angled in a U-shape. It is thereby possible that the cross-beam or the holding means offers a user standing on the ladder, in particular on the platform or the top steps, the opportunity to hold on on more than just one side.
  • the traverse or the holding means between the parts of the spars of the riser that protrude beyond the platform can be a storage tray or have a storage tray.
  • Means for attaching paint buckets or cans or tools and hand-held power tools can also be provided on or in the crossbeam or the holding means.
  • An uppermost step or rung of the support part can have a distance from the lower end of the spars of the support part which corresponds to a distance of an uppermost step or rung of the ascending part from the lower end of the stiles of the ascending part.
  • the top two levels or Rungs are then in the erected state of the ladder at the same height, which makes it easier to stand on the ladder with one foot on one top step and the other foot on the other top step.
  • the distances between steps or rungs of the support part can correspond to the distances between steps or rungs of the support part.
  • the support part can in principle have a step or a rung. But there can also be several steps or rungs. The support part can then also have two steps or rungs.
  • the platform can be divided into two parts and have a first part which is arranged between the spars of the riser part and a second part which is arranged between the spars of the support part.
  • the two parts of the platform which are preferably firmly connected to the riser part or the support part, are brought into a plane when a ladder according to the invention is set up and thus form the platform.
  • the platform is in one piece. It can then be attached rotatably about an axis between the spars of the riser part and, in the erected state, rest on a cross member of the support part.
  • upper steps of the climbing part and the steps of the support part offer a larger contact area for a user than lower steps of the climbing part. This provides a user with a larger contact area when working on the ladder than is available for the Climb is necessary. This should at least improve the subjective feeling of security.
  • the stepladder according to the invention has a riser part 1 and a support part 2 which are pivotably connected to one another.
  • the riser part 1 and the support part 2 each have two bars 10, 20, at the lower ends of which cross members are attached. At the lower ends of the traverse 14, 24 feet 15, 25 are attached with which the stepladder can stand on a surface
  • the bars 10 of the riser part 1 are connected to one another by steps 11 which are attached to the bars 10.
  • the bars 10 of the riser part 1 are connected to one another by a first platform part 12 and a first cross member 13.
  • the first platform part 12 is attached above a topmost step 11.
  • the distance to the uppermost step 11 is as great as the distance between the steps 11 of the riser part 1.
  • the spars 10 protrude beyond the first platform part 12.
  • the first traverse 13 is attached to the upper ends of the spars 10 of the riser part 1.
  • the first traverse 13 is designed as a holding means, in particular a holding bracket and, in contrast to what is often common with stepladders, viewed in a plan view of the stepladder, is U-shaped, which will be explained later.
  • a storage switch can be integrated into the holding means.
  • Struts 16 which are provided between the first platform part 12 and the bars 10 or between the second lowest step 11 and the bars 10, give the riser part 1 additional stability.
  • the struts can be omitted if necessary.
  • the spars 20 of the support part 2 are connected to one another by a second cross member or cross strut 23 in a lower region of the support part 2 and by steps 21 and a second platform part 22 in the upper region of the support part 2.
  • the second platform part 22 is provided at the upper end of the support part 2.
  • the spars 20 do not protrude beyond the second platform part 22.
  • the two steps 21 of the support part have a distance from one another which corresponds to the distance between the steps 11 of the riser part 1 from one another.
  • the distance between the top step 21 of the support part 2 and the second platform part 22 is exactly the same as the distance between the top step 11 of the riser part 1 and the first platform part 12.
  • no steps are provided in the lower part, only the second traverse or cross strut 23 is provided, which is formed by a tube.
  • the first platform part 12 and the second platform part 22 are connected to one another by hinges (not shown).
  • the pivot connection between the riser part 1 and the support part 2 is established via these hinges.
  • Wire brackets 41, 42 are provided under the platform 12, 22, which prevent an unintentional collapse of an erected ladder.
  • the design of the wire brackets 41, 42 and their function are known per se, for example from a folding step which is sold by the applicant under the name "Hailo L90 Step-ke".
  • Ropes 3 which are attached with one end to a stile 10 of the riser part 1 and another end to a stile 20 of the support part 2, limit the angle between the riser part 1 and the support part 2 of the erected stepladder according to the invention.
  • the ropes 3 can be omitted if their function is taken over by the wire bracket.
  • a stepladder according to the invention and not only the stepladder according to the invention shown can in principle be used like a conventional stepladder.
  • a user can climb the erected ladder on the climbing side and load the steps of the climbing section.
  • the spars 10 of the support part lengthened over the platform 12, 22 and the first traverse or the holding means 13 give the user the opportunity to hold on, put something down or hang up and convey to the user, even without that he holds on, a subjective feeling of security that a conventional stepladder does not convey
  • the user Set up with legs apart, the user has a secure stance and loads the riser part 1 and the support part 2 evenly.
  • stepladder like a stepladder is not only possible because of the additional steps on the support part. It is also facilitated by the fact that the first cross member or the holding means 13 is angled in a U-shape at the upper ends of the spars 10 of the ascending part 1 when viewed from above or is bent in a comparable manner. Only in this way is it possible in a convenient way to position the upper body upright and centrally over the platform 12, 22 while a foot is moved onto one of the steps 21 of the support part.
  • first cross member or the holding means 13 in a projection from above on the support part side does not end with the support part-side edge of the platform, but further outwards and thus in the projection from above on the topmost or second from the top step 21 of the support part 2 lies or coincides with one of the edges of these steps.
