L'invention concerne un système de commande pour métiers à tisser, comprenant un ou plusieurs moteurs (1 ; M1, M2) servant à actionner une machine à tisser (8) et une machine de formation de foule (7), qui constituent un métier à tisser, la machine à tisser (8) et la machine de formation de foule (7) comprenant des dispositifs respectifs conçus pour envoyer des signaux continus se rapportant à la position et à l'état fonctionnel respectifs à un système de commande (C), de sorte que le système de commande (C) puisse collecter les données fonctionnelles du métier à tisser, telles que le nombre et le type d'arrêts, la vitesse de tissage, la discontinuité/la qualité du tissu, etc., si nécessaire pour communiquer avec d'autres systèmes de commande, de façon à comparer les données avec une base de données contenant des données de fonctionnement théorique reposant sur les caractéristiques des fils et des tissus en production, et pour décider de manière autonome s'il faut éventuellement modifier les paramètres de fonctionnement de métier à tisser définis au démarrage, tels que la vitesse d'entraînement, la mise en phase entre la machine à tisser (8) et la machine de formation de foule (7), la rampe de démarrage, etc.
