Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for closing shipping packaging, in particular small products manually packed in corrugated cardboard.
  • This packaging process usually takes place at individual packing stations or packing tables, at which a user packs the previously selected product by hand, attaches an address label and makes it available for collection. This often happens in roll containers or in big bags. With such small shipping quantities, very different users usually pack the products they have selected at this packing station in the course of a working day. The product sizes differ accordingly. There is usually no particularly high-quality infrastructure at such packing stations, at most an electrical connection is to be expected.
  • a structurally complex device for closing shipping packages is from DE 30 44 244 A1 known, in which such a shipping packaging is initially closed on one narrow side and then on the opposite narrow side by two individually driven pressing members pivoting relative to one another, the drive mechanism being arranged on an adjustable rocker, which at the same time also controls the relative position of a swivel arm mounting to a Parcel conveyor belt is changing.
  • the U.S. 5,243,808 A discloses a device for closing cardboard boxes with overlapping ends on front and side surfaces, which has upper and lower pressing members on two opposite sides, between which the box ends are pressed.
  • the lower pressing members are designed as rollers, which are positioned perpendicular to a conveyor belt leading to the packaging.
  • the problem with this device is the generation of a sufficiently large contact pressure for permanent closure of the packaging, especially with increased packaging thickness, since this is only generated via the weight of the roll.
  • JP 2014 118202 A describes a device for closing envelopes which provides rollers to generate the contact pressure.
  • the rollers are in contact with each other so that the rollers have to be exchanged for pressing different material thicknesses.
  • only flat products can be closed.
  • the EP 0 405 354 A1 discloses a method and device for closing packages that have already been closed at an edge.
  • Elements for pressing the open packaging sides are provided on opposite sides, but the closing requires a complex, multiple movement of the packaging within the device.
  • the invention therefore has the object of specifying a device that avoids the aforementioned disadvantages and enables the packaging to be opened more easily and, moreover, of specifying a corresponding packaging system.
  • the device task is achieved by a device for closing shipping packaging in the form of self-adhesive corrugated cardboard, having a product feed and a driven pressing device arranged thereafter in the processing direction for the simultaneous pressing of two opposite sides of a shipping packaging, the pressing device having at least one pair of movable pressing members, one The distance between the two pressing members can be changed, with a counter-element being provided for each movable pressing member in such a way that movable Press member and counter element are designed to act mechanically pressing on a shipping packaging arranged between them when in use, the pressing device being designed for the simultaneous pressing of two opposite sides of a shipping packaging, which is characterized in that the movable pressing member pair is formed by two pivotable press bars, with a toothing is provided, arranged on at least one pivotable press beam.
  • the invention understands shipping packaging to be self-adhesive corrugated cardboard coated on one side with cold glue, unless this is modified according to the invention as detailed below.
  • This special shipping packaging is also referred to as corrugated cardboard for short.
  • These shipping packages have different sizes, depending on the product to be shipped.
  • the device therefore has a product supply which defines a maximum processing size and which in the simplest case is designed as a product inlet opening. According to the invention, however, there would also be a product feed in which or on which the shipping packaging to be closed is placed and which then allows it to reach the pressing device, for example by being pushed manually in this direction.
  • a driven pressing device is provided for the simultaneous pressing of two opposite sides of a shipping package.
  • the drive is primarily electrical via corresponding motors, the drive being selected so that the shipping packaging to be closed is conveyed through the pressing device, which presses the two narrow sides together and thus closes them.
  • a drive by the user himself for example by a hand crank.
  • a user therefore only has to carry out the first step of packaging, namely wrapping the product into the corrugated cardboard and folding it over to create a central web on the main surface of the shipping packaging. He then introduces this packaging blank into the device according to the invention, which packs it to the end in a single operation and then ejects it.
  • the press device according to the invention has for this purpose with great advantage at least one pair of movable press members.
  • the movable press member and counter-element are designed to act mechanically in a pressing manner on a shipping packaging arranged between them when in use.
  • the type of movement of the movable pressing member can be linear or a mixed form of linear and rotary, in particular a pivoting movement. The latter is preferred.
  • there is a spacing between the two pressing members changeable so that shipping packages of different sizes can be processed with the device.
  • the pair of movable pressing members can be designed in such a way that it conveys the shipping package to be closed through the device, in particular in the case of wheels as pressing members.
  • the mechanical pressing is in particular a compression forming, a tensile compression forming, a bending forming or a vault structuring.
  • this reshaping can be a pressing, punching, folding, embossing, or the like.
  • the shape of the counter-element is accordingly adapted to the movable pressing member or to the space delimitation required for the deformation.
  • the axial distance between the movable pressing members of the pressing device - the length of the pressing device - is designed to be adjustable according to the invention, in particular by means of an axially displaceable movable pressing member. It is preferably provided that the movable press member pair is formed by two pivotable press beams.
  • Pivotable press beams in particular driven via an eccentric, represent a structurally simple form of generating mechanical deformation of the shipping packaging, which can automatically move from an open to a closed position and back.
  • teeth are provided with a particularly great advantage, arranged on at least one pivotable press beam. During the pressing or also closing movement of the pivotable press beam, this toothing generates a perforation in the shipping packaging that can be used by a recipient of the shipping packaging as a tear-open aid.
  • An operator therefore only needs to insert the shipping packaging to be closed into the device according to the invention, for example via an insert drawer that can be opened and closed accordingly, and can then move it one turn of the eccentric and remove it again perforated.
  • the movable press member is selected from the group formed by rotatable wheels, pivotable press rams, linearly movable press rams and that the counter element is selected from the group formed by rotatable counter elements and immovable counter elements.
  • every combination of movable press member and counter element is according to the invention, in particular the combinations rotatable wheel - rotatable counter element, rotatable wheel - immovable counter element, pivotable press ram - rotatable counter element, pivotable press ram - immovable counter element, linearly movable press ram - rotatable counter element and linearly movable press ram - immovable Counter element.
  • the counter-element is a sliding surface which can be more or less curved, in particular adapted to the curvature of the wheel, but which in any case allows unhindered conveyance of the shipping packaging.
  • the movable press member and counter-element define a press nip between them, in particular a press nip that is adjustable in width.
  • a press nip that is adjustable in width.
  • sheets of corrugated cardboard of different thicknesses can advantageously be processed.
  • One way of achieving the adjustability is to apply a spring force to the counter element. A suitable selection of the spring force ensures that shipping packaging cannot be changed by the press nip without being mechanically changed can pass through.
  • the spring - which can also be an elastomer or another device with restoring force - prevents damage to the device, for example by the counter-element giving way should a piece of metal or the like get into the press gap due to incorrect operation or by mistake.
  • An alternative not according to the invention is the configuration of the movable pair of pressing members as two wheels.
  • the advantage is that these wheels are used at the same time to transport the shipping packaging, which is to be mechanically changed, through the device.
  • At least one wheel has a structured running surface, in particular each wheel has one, wherein the circumferentially extending radially protruding bands and / or knobs and / or a toothing, the toothing in particular sinusoidal, triangular or is designed as a truncated pyramid.
  • a structured running surface higher pressures can advantageously be achieved; in addition, a pre-perforation can be made in the packaging, which enables it to be easily opened later.
  • a suitable tooth shape is selected that achieves both a pressure for the adhesive and a perforation or partial perforation and is therefore designed with corresponding sharp edges.
  • Radially protruding straps also produce improved compression and thus more secure closure of the shipping packaging.
  • the effect of pimples lies between these two.
  • information can also be incorporated into the packaging, for example on the packaging company, if the structure consists, for example, of raised letters.
  • the edges of the packaging can be cut to size in a defined manner, which corrects any bulging or general deformation during the packaging process.
  • the structurally simple design, according to which the cutting device is a cutting edge, is particularly advantageous. This has three functions: pressing, perforating / marking and cutting.
  • the invention proposes with great advantage that the teeth be arranged on a cutting blade, the cutting blade preferably having at least two elongated holes which enable the cutting blade to be offset vertically and horizontally relative to the press beam.
  • the teeth could also be formed directly on the press beam itself, for example on its side facing the counter-element facing this, a cutting blade that can be detachably connected to the press beam is more advantageous for reasons of easier interchangeability. This interchangeability is particularly advantageous when one tooth geometry is to be replaced with a different tooth geometry or when the teeth have to be replaced after a long period of use.
  • toothed cutting blades are more readily available than toothed moving press beams.
  • the cutting blade is arranged between the pivotable press beam and a stiffening element.
  • this stiffening element is a rectangular piece of metal with a corresponding thickness.
  • a toothing guide is arranged at a distance from a counter-element in such a way that the toothing can be guided or received between the two with play.
  • a distance between two pivotable press beams can be changed by at least one press beam of two pivotable press beams being axially displaceable, in particular on a common shaft. This allows the distance to the length of the shipping packaging to be adjusted, so that shipping packaging of different widths can be closed.
  • the system task is achieved by a system for the manual packaging of individual products having a device as described and corrugated cardboard blanks and / or corrugated cardboard webs. Instead of the need to keep many different boxes in stock, a user is provided with a universally applicable device Suitable packaging materials are available. These can be available on a roll or in individual cuts.
  • the corrugated cardboard blanks are selected in such a way that, after manual packaging, tariff-optimized packaging sizes result. This optimizes the business costs.
  • the corrugated cardboard has padding, in particular in the form of air cushion film, paper padding, foam layers, plastic grids, fleece or mixed forms of the mentioned padding materials.
  • padding in particular in the form of air cushion film, paper padding, foam layers, plastic grids, fleece or mixed forms of the mentioned padding materials.

  • the shaft 10 is driven by means of a system consisting of an electric motor 13 and a power transmission 14.
  • a crank is also according to the invention as a power transmission in order to further reduce the technical requirements of the device on an installation site.
  • a further movable pressing member 4 'shown on the right is arranged on the shaft 10, also designed as a wheel 12', both wheels 12, 12 'being part of the driven and length-adjustable pressing device 3 and forming at least one rotatable pair of wheels.

Due to this transition radius, the teeth 19 have an edge that digs into the material of the shipping packaging and thus pre-perforates or perforates it. Due to the perforation created in this way, a recipient can later open the shipping packaging in a simple manner with great advantage.
