Definitions

  • the invention relates to a window frame system for accommodating at least two windows, with a top bar, a bottom bar, side bars and at least one impost, wherein at least a first window cannot be opened and at least a second window can be opened to the outside, and each window has at least one glass element and the second Window has a sash frame and wherein at least the top bar or the bottom bar have a one-piece main segment, and an intermediate segment is arranged between the glass element of the first window and the main segment.
  • window frame is generally understood to mean that part of a window frame system that cannot be moved in the installed position, i.e. essentially remains in place when an openable window is opened as intended.
  • this window frame is formed by the top bar, bottom bar and side bars.
  • the movable part of the window frame is formed by the sash frame, while in a window that cannot be opened, this is not present.
  • window frame systems that allow at least one window to be opened to the outside while at least one other cannot be opened usually have a multi-piece frame.
  • the top bar and bottom bar in particular, but also other elements are not continuous, but rather interrupted. This is often perceived as visually not very appealing, since a large number of gaps between the windows gives the impression of the window frame being inconsistent.
  • the GB 2 259 321 A1 discloses a window frame system of the type described, wherein the intermediate segment can be connected and disconnected via a snap mechanism.
  • This embodiment enables a continuous, one-piece main segment, which is visually appealing.
  • the intermediate segment is perceived as optically negative because it protrudes from the main segment. This results in a top or bottom bar that appears inconsistent.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to avoid the disadvantages described and to provide a window frame system that is visually more attractive.
  • the main segment has a recess on the outer side of the window, which has a first receiving surface on the one hand for a preferably tight connection with the intermediate segment and on the other hand for a preferably tight connection with the casement, and that a glazing bead of the first window is attached to the main segment on the inside.
  • the main segment has a recess on the outer side of the window, which has a first receiving surface on the one hand for a tight connection with the intermediate segment and on the other hand for a tight connection with the casement, a good receiving surface is thus provided, recessed from the main outer surface, which can be used multiple times.
  • the intermediate segment can engage in the area of the first window, as a result of which the intermediate segment no longer protrudes and, with a suitable design, the intermediate outer surface and the main outer surface can lie in one plane.
  • the sash frame can rest in the area of the second window, with the casement outer surface also being able to lie in one plane with the main outer surface if the design is suitable.
  • the joints between the windows are reduced, giving a more uniform impression and guaranteeing a perceived aesthetic. Joints between the individual windows will be perceived as more of a nuisance than those that run essentially parallel to the edges of the glass elements. Therefore, the use of one-piece main segments, which have a constant cross-section over their main extent, is visually particularly appealing. This also has the advantage of facilitating manufacture by extrusion of plastic or similar material and facilitating assembly as fewer elements need to be assembled. Furthermore, the stability of the entire window frame system is reinforced.
  • the inner side or inner side is understood to mean the side of the window frame system which is in an intended installation position inside the building or is directed towards the interior of the building. Accordingly, the outer side or outside is that which is outside the building in this installation position or that side in the direction of which the second window can be opened.
  • the glass element can be stabilized in a simple manner. Since the first window cannot be opened and therefore no Has casement frame, the intermediate segment thus assumes the function of defining the glass element on the window frame system.
  • the glazing beads which also hold the glass elements, should be arranged - preferably exclusively - on the inside for visual reasons and to protect against the weather. Accordingly, it is particularly advantageous if the intermediate segment fixes the glass element on the outside so that the glass element is clamped between the glazing bead and the intermediate segment. To this end, it is advantageous if these connections to the glass element are sealed, for example by means of rubber seals or silicone seals arranged on the connections.
  • the connection between the intermediate segment and the main segment should also be tight. This can also be ensured by a sealing lip or some other tight connection technique.
  • a glazing bead of the first window is attached to the main panel on the inside.
  • This is a particularly stable embodiment, since the connection between the glass element and the main segment is established via only one intermediate element.
  • the intermediate segment does not have to extend to the inside and can be made small.
  • the glazing bead could also act directly on an intermediate segment.
  • the main segment has an essentially L-shaped cross-section, with a first leg being arranged on the inner side of the window, this represents a simple, stable and visually appealing embodiment for the main segment.
  • the second window can be opened to the outside, there is enough space on the inner side for the first leg, which particularly preferably can serve as a connection point for the glazing bead of the first window.
  • the intermediate segment has a substantially L-shaped cross section, with one leg being arranged on the outer side of the window.
  • the intermediate segment can on the one hand rest on the main segment over a large area and on the other hand the leg can have a connecting element on the outer side for connecting to the glass element.
  • both the main segment and the intermediate segment have an L-shaped profile.
  • the main segment has a main outer surface
  • the intermediate segment has an intermediate outer surface
  • the sash frame has a sash outer surface, these surfaces lying essentially in one plane when closed. This results in an essentially uniformly flat image when the second window is in the closed state.
  • These major outer surface, intermediate outer surface and wing outer surface are typically arranged parallel to the glass elements. Although such surfaces can be surmounted by individual elements, it would be advantageous if this is not the case.
  • the main segment has a main inner surface
  • the glazing beads have a glazing bead inner surface
  • the sash frame has a sash inner surface, these surfaces lying essentially in one plane in the closed state. This means the surfaces of the parts that face the interior of the building.
  • the main segment has a recess on the outer side of the window, which has a first receiving surface on the one hand for a tight connection with the intermediate segment and on the other hand for a tight connection with the casement, a good receiving surface is thus provided, recessed from the main outer surface, which can be used multiple times.
  • the intermediate segment can act in the area of the first window, whereby, with a suitable design, the intermediate outer surface and the main outer surface can lie in one plane.
  • the sash frame can rest in the area of the second window, and with a suitable design the outer surface of the sash can also lie in one plane with the main outer surface.
  • the first leg of the main segment has a second receiving surface for a tight connection to the casement.
  • the sash frame can act on another receiving surface when closed, which improves the stability of the connection, the insulating properties and its tightness.
  • the cross section of at least one transom has a one-piece transom main segment between the first window and the second window. This further reduces the number of joints and creates a uniform image.
  • the main segment of the impost is symmetrical along a plane perpendicular to the plane of the window. This also has advantages during assembly as the profile can be rotated and used regardless of which windows are fitted can be. Such a main segment can be used both for two windows that cannot be opened and for two windows that can be opened, as well as between one of the two in each case.
  • an intermediate segment is arranged between the glass element of the first window and the main segment, this has advantages similar to those already described with regard to the intermediate segments. Another advantage is that the type of window can be changed afterwards. A window of one type, for example one that can be opened, can be removed and a window of a different type, for example one that cannot be opened, can be installed without removing the side parts or the fighter. All that is required is to arrange appropriate intermediate impeller segments or, if necessary, intermediate segments in order to enable installation.
  • the top bar, the bottom bar and side bars have main segments with essentially the same cross sections. This makes production cheaper and simplifies assembly again. To produce a window frame system, only one profile has to be produced for all the bordering strips.
  • FIG. 1 shows a schematic exterior view of a window frame system with a non-openable first window 21 and a second window 22 that can be opened outwards. Furthermore, a top bar 24, a bottom bar 25 and side bars 23 are arranged, all of which have a uniform main segment 1. The main segments 1 of the top bar 24 and bottom bar 25 extend over the entire width of the window.
  • the window frame system shown is shown in such a way that the bottom strip is arranged closest to the substrate when the window is installed and the windows are therefore next to one another. However, it is also conceivable that it is installed vertically, so that a side bar 23 is arranged closest to the ground and the windows are on top of each other.
  • a main segment 1 has an L-shaped profile, with a first leg 1a being smaller on the inside than a second leg 1b.
  • the main segment 1 is mainly formed by an extruded plastic profile, with a reinforcing body 1c made of metal being introduced inside in order to increase the mechanical stability.
  • a connecting section 1d which establishes a connection to a glazing bead 3 .
  • the glazing bead 3 has a glazing bead inner surface 3a which faces the interior. It is slightly beveled in comparison to a main inner surface 1e of the main segment 1, which results in a visually appealing transition between the main segment 1 and the glass element 4.
  • the glass element 4 is held on the inside by the glazing bead 3 via a tight rubber connection 5 .
  • a fourth leg 2b which is substantially normal to the third leg 2a and parallel to the second leg 1b, rests on and is rigidly connected to the second leg 1b and a second receiving surface 1g of the first leg 1a.
  • This connection is sealed by a rubber element 6.
  • This is in a recess 9 - or on its first receiving surface 15 - arranged, which is surmounted by the intermediate segment 2 partially.
  • the intermediate segment 2 is designed in such a way that the depression 9 is not closed or almost closed towards the outside, rather a gap is left free.
  • An intermediate outer surface 2c which is directed outwards, is essentially in a plane with a main outer surface 1f and parallel to the main extension plane of the glass element 4.
  • the intermediate segment 2 has a rubber strip 7 at the upper edge, which fixes the glass element 4 on the outside.
  • a person standing outside in the area of the lower strip next to the glass element 4 will primarily see two parallel surfaces, ie the intermediate outer surface 2c and the main outer surface 1f. These extend evenly over the entire length of the first window and thus form a uniform image.
  • the main segment 1 extends further, while the intermediate segment 2 is delimited by a fighter 10. Viewed from the inside, only the main segment 1 and the glazing bead 3 are visible.
  • the glass element 4 is designed as a thermally highly insulating triple pane insulating glass. However, any other form of glass element can of course be used. Depending on the thickness of the glass element 4, the embodiment of the intermediate segment 2 and the casement 8 can be selected differently.
  • the same embodiment is shown, showing part of a section in the area of the bottom bar at the level of the second outwardly opening window.
  • the second window is shown in the closed configuration.
  • This extrusion profile is arranged on all sides of the glass element 4, as a result of which a uniform sash frame is formed.
  • the leaf frame 8 also has a reinforcing profile 8c made of metal, which is used for stabilization.
  • a connection to a glass element 4 of the second window is established via a rubber strip 7, on the one hand, and a detachable but tight connection to the main segment 1 via a rubber element 6, on the other hand, which are constructed in the same way as the connection between the intermediate segment 2 and the main segment 1.
  • a second detachable, sealed connection to the main segment is arranged via a rubber strip 7 on the second receiving surface 1g, which is arranged on the first leg 1a.
  • the embodiment of the first leg 1a thus fulfills different functions in the areas of the first and the second window.
  • the wing frame 8 has a wing outer surface 8a which faces outward and which is on the same plane with the main outer surface 1f.
  • a wing inner surface 8b is also on the same level Plane with the main inner surface 1e.
  • the glass element 4 is fixed to the casement 8 by a glass retaining strip 3 .
  • the coordinated design of the individual elements results in a similar picture in the area of the first window as well as in the area of the second window, both from the outside and from the inside. This is optically particularly desirable, only the window frame in the area of the second window is slightly wider because it can be opened.
  • the main segment 1, casement frame 8, main impost segment 11, glazing bead 3 and intermediate segment 2 have several differently shaped cavities, which on the one hand make the profiles lighter and on the other hand have an additional insulating effect due to the trapped air or possibly introduced insulation material.
  • a part of a section is shown along a plane which is perpendicular to the section planes of 2 and 3 behaves. It shows the area of a fighter 10 between a first window and a second window.
  • the fighter 10 has a mirror-symmetrical fighter main segment 11, which has two fighter depressions 13 on the outside, which have fighter bearing surfaces 14. At these is on the one side of the wing frame 8 and on the other side of an intermediate segment 12 fighter.
  • This fighter intermediate segment 12 is constructed in the same way as the intermediate segment 2, which means that the same extrusion profile can be used. This is particularly cheap and requires little effort.
  • the profile of the main segment 11 of the impeller consists of two mirror-image sub-profiles, which in sections are very similar to the structure of the main segment, or are partially congruent.
  • the impost also has an inserted metal profile 10c, which has a reinforcing effect.
  • a wing outer surface 8a, fighter main outer surface 11a and fighter intermediate outer surface 12a, or wing inner surface 8b and fighter main inner surface 11b also lie on one plane.
  • the side rails which are not shown, and the top rail have a similar structure to that in 2 cut shown. It is therefore only necessary to use a total of 5 extrusion profiles to produce the basic structure of the window frame system, namely the profile of the main segment, the intermediate segment - which is also used as an intermediate segment in the impost - the casement frame, the glazing beads and the main segment in the impost. Not only is this cheap and easy to manufacture, but simplifies the logistics and creates a very even overall picture of the window frame system.
