Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a stackable storage container.
  • Storage containers in particular for storing food or other everyday objects, can be found in a wide variety of places in everyday life.
  • basic requirements such as stability, low empty weight, low acquisition costs, etc.
  • the flexibility in arranging several such containers, especially for space-saving storage of the containers is an advantage.
  • a space-saving storage of such containers can be achieved, for example, by using stackable containers.
  • the stackable container system comprises a body that is open at the top and a cover that covers it at the top, the body being provided with elements that make it possible to stack several bodies of the stackable container system on top of one another and to interlock them in a detachable manner.
  • Both the body and the cover are preferably made of plastic.
  • the cover is provided with elements for detachable snap-in connections both downwards and upwards. The lid can be snapped onto an edge of the body to cover it up, and also be snapped onto a body standing on its top.
  • a stackable toggle-lock container is in DE202006008894U1 described.
  • the container consists of at least two stackable shells and possibly a lid, having at least one connecting means per shell and/or lid and at least one further connecting element, arranged corresponding to the connecting means on another shell or the lid, with a connection for locking the shell with at least one other shell or the cover can be produced between the connecting means and the connecting element, the connecting means being a snap fastener.
  • EP2313321B1 describes a stacking container assembly with interlocking of stacked containers.
  • the container arrangement consists of at least two stackable containers, each of which has a first engagement structure arranged on its upper side and a second engagement structure arranged on its underside, the two engagement structures being coordinated with one another in such a way that when two containers are stacked on top of one another, the upper first engagement structure of the lower Container and the underlying second engagement structure of the upper container engage in one another in such a way that the two containers are secured against displacement relative to one another transversely to the stacking direction and, on the other hand, through rear-engagement components of the engagement structures that engage behind one another in a locking area transversely to the stacking direction, a lifting of the upper container from the lower one Container only partially preventing locking between the containers is present.
  • stackable storage containers Due to the numerous application possibilities and the demand for low production costs, it is desirable for stackable storage containers to be as flexible in use as possible and simple in construction. For example, depending on the contents to be stored, it might be advantageous to be able to vary the degree of attachment between the stacked storage containers.
  • an embodiment in which the shape of the stackable storage container and the lid does not deviate significantly from conventional, non-stackable storage containers has the advantage, in addition to high consumer acceptance, that manufacturing costs can be reduced through efficient use of existing systems and processes.
  • the invention relates to a stackable storage container with a body and a lid, the side walls of the body being provided with elastically deformable latching arms which can be pivoted towards one another around an edge of the body, the body having outwardly projecting feet which are aligned parallel to the edge and have feet on the upper side with are provided with second latching cams, the lid having first latching cams on the top side, with the feet of the body, when it is stacked on the lid, engaging with play between the first latching cams, with the latching arms in a first configuration with the lid placed on the edge the first latching cams of the lid can be releasably latched in a first latching position by reaching over these latching cams, wherein in a second configuration with a similar body stacked on the edge, the latching arms with the second latching cams of the feet of the similar body by overlapping these latching cams in a second latching position position are releasably latched and in a third configuration with the lid placed on the
  • the cover is preferably secured in a form-fitting manner against being lifted off the body.
  • the body of the same type is secured against lifting off the body, preferably in a form-fitting manner.
  • the cover is preferably positively secured against lifting off the body and the similar body is held in a force-fitting manner against lifting off the cover.
  • the body has skirting boards which are aligned parallel to the edge, project outwards transversely to the feet and are arranged at the same height as these.
  • the lid has raised ledges on the upper side in relation to a central area. When this is stacked on the lid, the skirting boards of the body fit snugly between the raised bars of the lid.
  • first engagement means on the edge and second engagement means on the cover which engage in one another when the cover is placed on the edge and position the cover centrally between the latching arms.
  • the second engagement means on the cover can also form stops which, in the first configuration, limit the pivotability of the latching arms relative to one another in the first latching position.
  • the locking arms are each provided with a pair of locking hooks at their free end, which each interact with a pair of first or second locking cams.
  • the first latching cams are preferably provided with ramp surfaces for the latching arms.
  • the latching arms are each provided with a grip tab in order to facilitate their latching with the first or second latching cams and the release of these latches.
  • the rim is designed as a flat bearing surface for the cover that projects outwards on all sides.
  • the body can have outwardly projecting edge strips below the edge and parallel thereto, which form grooves with the edge. It is further preferred if the cover overlaps the grooves.
  • the latching arms can preferably alternatively also be latched with the second latching cams of the feet of the similar body by reaching over these latching cams in a fourth latching position.
  • the cover is further preferably against lifting off from the body and the similar body secured against lifting from the lid in each case in a form-fitting manner.
  • Storage containers according to the present invention offer the advantage that their parts can be stacked on top of one another in different ways.
  • two bodies can be stacked directly on top of each other without a lid in between, so that the bottom of the upper body practically forms a lid for the lower body.
  • two bodies can also be stacked on top of each other with a lid in between.
  • each body can also be covered with a lid.
  • the bodies or the lids can be connected to one another so that they form a transport unit.
  • the connections can also be left open so that the stacked storage containers rest loosely on one another. There is thus great flexibility in using the storage containers of the present invention.
  • figure 1 shows a perspective view of an embodiment of a storage container with an approximately cuboid body 1 , which is rectangular in plan, and a cover 2 in a first configuration, in which the cover 2 is placed on the body 1 .
  • latching arms 3 are pivoted in relation to one another, specifically on eyelets 19 in ribs protruding from the side walls 11 .
  • the articulation of the latching arms 3 could also be formed on the side walls located opposite one another on the two longitudinal sides.
  • the latching arms 3 are in a first latching position in which they engage over the cover 2 and fix it on the body 1 .
  • a pair of outwardly projecting feet 12 available.
  • These feet 12 are provided with second latching cams 13 on the upper side in the form of narrow ribs which extend parallel to the side walls 11 .
  • the feet 12 could also project relative to indentations along the lower edge of the side walls 11 .
  • edge 14 running around its open upper side is designed as a flat support surface for the cover 2 that projects outwards on all sides.
  • An elongated rib 15 is present on the edge 14 above and parallel to the side walls 11 .
  • outwardly projecting edge strips 16 are formed, which contribute to the stabilization of the edge area.
  • they form grooves 17 together with the edge 14 or its flat bearing surface.
  • the cover 2 when it is placed on the body 1, overlaps these grooves 17 with a peripheral edge 21, which could thereby possibly be used for inserting a seal.
  • the body Along the lower edges of its longitudinal sides, the body also has foot strips 18 which are formed integrally with the feet 12 and are arranged at the same height as the latter, but project outwards transversely thereto.
  • a pair of the eyelets 19 mentioned for articulating the locking arms 3 on the side walls 11 is in 2 also clearly visible.
  • FIG. 3 shows the cover 2 by itself.
  • it is rectangular, ie it has two long sides and two narrow sides.
  • Their end sections form first locking cams 22, which could also be formed independently of or in addition to the elongated ribs.
  • Abutment surfaces 23 are provided on the outside adjoining the locking cams 22 .
  • each areas 24 are further formed on the narrow sides, which on the top of the lid opposite a central Surface 25 of the lid 2 is slightly increased, but are correspondingly deepened on the underside of the lid.
  • Strips 26 are also formed along the longitudinal sides of the lid 2 and are also slightly raised on the upper side of the lid in relation to the central area 25 .
  • On the underside of the lid like the areas 24, they can be correspondingly deepened.
  • the body 1 can also be stacked on the cover 2 in reverse. In doing so, its feet 12 engage with play, i.e. with only a small amount of play, between the first latching cams 22 of the cover, and at the same time they engage around the areas 24 with only a small amount of play. As a result of this engagement or this gripping, the body 1 is positioned centrally on the cover 2 and can only be moved or rotated slightly on its central surface 25 within the scope of the small amount of play mentioned. A relatively precise positioning between the first latching cams is important for the third latching position of the latching arms in the third configuration, which will be described later, while greater play transversely thereto could possibly be tolerated.
  • FIG. 4 shows one of the two locking arms 3 of identical design.
  • these are provided with outwardly directed pins 31 which engage in the eyelets 19 on the side walls 11.
  • a pair of latching hooks 32 are formed at each free end, and between these there is a gripping tab 33 projecting outwards.
  • a stop surface 34 is provided opposite the gripping tab.
  • the locking arms are clearly bent outwards and are also designed to be elastically flexible at least in this area, so that they form a kind of flexible spring overall.
  • figure 5 shows for the in 1 shown first configuration with cover 2 placed on the body 1 one of the locking arms 3 in its first locking position, in which the locking arm 3 engages over the edge of the cover 2 and each of its two locking hooks 32 is locked with one of the first rib-like locking cams 22 of the cover 2.
  • This overlapping is possible, among other things, due to the outwardly bent shape of the latching hooks 3.
  • the latching occurs due to the aforementioned elastic deformability of the latching hooks 3, especially in their bent-out area and their resulting formation as a spiral spring. In the first detent position, this spiral spring is preferably tensioned, which also applies to the other detent positions explained below.
  • the effective spring force can be easily adjusted during production due to the shape of the locking arms.
  • the ramp surfaces 23 mentioned on the cover 2 serve, along which the latching hooks 32 slide during the latching process.
  • the locking hooks 32 are further rounded on the inside at 32a in such a way that the locking can also be released again by pivoting the locking arms 32 back out of the first locking position. This shape is in 6 better to recognize. Nevertheless, the cover 2 is positively secured against lifting by the locking arms 3 in their first locking position on the body 1 . It would require at least very large lifting forces, to detach the cover 2 from the body 1 without first swiveling the locking arms back.
  • the stop surface 34 is also in each case in abutment against the raised areas 24 of the cover 2, as a result of which the latching arms 3 are additionally fixed in the first latching position.
  • the locking arms 3 can be swiveled easily by gripping the grip tabs 33 .
  • FIG. 7 shows two identical bodies 1 and 1' stacked directly one on top of the other without a cover 2 in between, corresponding to a second configuration.
  • the locking arms 3 of the lower body 1 are in a second locking position.
  • the latching arms 3' of the upper body 1' do not fulfill any special function here and could also simply hang down loosely.
  • the upper body 1' could also be covered with a cover and this could either be placed loosely or fixed by pivoting the latching arms 3' into the first latching position explained.
  • Another or even more similar bodies could also be stacked on the upper body 1'.
  • the latching can be released simply by pivoting the latching arms 3 back out of the second latching position due to the rounded shape of the latching hooks 32, which has also already been described.
  • the latching hooks 32 are additionally fixed in each case against the side walls 11′ of the upper body 1′ and are therefore also additionally fixed in this latching position.
  • the two bodies 1 and 1' can be handled as a transport unit.
  • the fact that the locking arms 3 can be locked in the first configuration both with the first locking cams 22 of the cover and in the second configuration with the second locking cams 13 and 13' is essentially determined by the arrangement and design of the feet 12 and 12'.
  • the first and second locking cams 22 or 13 are in the two configurations essentially in the same position relative to the locking arms 3 and are thereby available for them.
  • the design described also allows a third configuration, in which a cover 2 is placed on the edge of the lower body 1 and another, similar body 1' is stacked on the cover 2, like this 10 indicates.
  • 10 are the two bodies 1 and 1 'still shown separately from each other, with the lower body 1 and the lid 2 form the first configuration and the locking arms 3 of the lower body 1 in the are in the first detent position.
  • the upper body 1' can be placed directly on the cover 2 in the direction of the arrows without previously releasing the latching arms 3.
  • the feet here the feet 12' of the upper body 1'
  • engage between the first latching cams 22 of the lid with only a small amount of play when it is in place.
  • the latching arms 3 which in the first latching position overlap the latching cams 22 by more than this play from the outside, are pushed back slightly outwards under elastic deformation by the feet 12' of the upper body, without it However, this leads to a complete release of the latching. It is possible for the locking arms to be pushed back outwards by the feet 12', or at least it is facilitated by the rounded outer shape of the locking hooks 32 at 32b.
  • the two latching arms 3 snap back slightly under their elastic tension in the direction of the first latching position, but only up to a third latching position.
  • the 11 and 12 show in detail the area of one of the locking arms 3 in this third locking position.
  • the latching arms 3 or their latching hooks 32 are slightly raised in the third latching position compared to the first latching position on the first latching cam 22 of the cover 2 and offset outwards. With their outside, they are in contact with the feet 12' of the upper container 1', which they also overlap somewhat. In the third latching position, the latching arms 3 are thus still latched with the first latching cams 22 of the cover 2, but at the same time they also clamp the feet 12' of the upper body 1' between them.
  • the rounded shape on the inside of the latching hooks 32 at 32a allows the latching arms 3 to pivot back to release their latching with the first latching cam 22 or the second latching cam 13.
  • the rounded shape on their outside at 32b allows the upper one to snap open
  • the body 1' is simply pressed onto the cover 2 without first releasing the latching arms 3, while the rounded shape on its outside at 32c allows it to be lifted off the cover 2 without having to release the latching arms 3 with the first latching cams. While the cover 2 is positively secured on the lower body 1 even in the third locking position of the locking arms 3, the upper body 1' is then held against lifting off the cover only by a force fit.
  • Body 1, cover 2 and locking arms 3 are preferably made of a plastic material and are produced by injection molding.
