Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a horizontally opening roller door according to the preamble of patent claim 1 and a method according to the preamble of patent claim 16.
  • Rolling doors are doors that have a filling in the form of a rollable covering material.
  • Rollable covering materials can be, for example, foil, tarpaulin, fabric or roller shutter panels. Unlike with sliding doors, the filling is wound onto a so-called winding shaft, also known as a grooved tube. The rollable covering material is present as a roll when the door is open.
  • Roller doors that open and close vertically are well known, i.e. where the rollable curtain, the rollable covering material, is unrolled from top to bottom or rolled up from bottom to top.
  • Horizontally opening roller doors are also well known, i.e. the roller door is opened and closed by a lateral movement.
  • a so-called floor gap is required, which means that an air space, typically in the order of 5 - 10 mm, remains between the floor and the lower edge of the roller door.
  • Disadvantages of such a floor gap include, for example, passageways for small rodents and insects, even when the door is closed. This is seen as particularly problematic in the food processing industry.
  • air permeability is provided through the floor gap, which is perceived as an unpleasant draft by people staying in rooms closed off by such doors, and which increases heating costs as cold air penetrates in winter, and thirdly which prevents an air permeability classification better than class 0 from being achieved.
  • a floor gap is often also perceived as visually disturbing, as it is easy to see in backlighting and thus gives the impression that the door is not closing properly or is not properly closed.
  • a drop seal is disclosed there that is lowered onto a carpet when the folding door or folding wall is closed.
  • the drop seal is raised when opening and closing.
  • the drop seal is specially designed to provide soundproofing for carpets.
  • This known technology cannot be used for horizontally opening roller doors, among other things because the drop seal cannot be rolled up.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to provide a horizontally opening roller door which, when closed, has as little gap as possible in the floor and which eliminates the described disadvantages of the WO2009/120444 A1 known replaceable floor sealing.
  • the horizontally opening roller door according to the invention has a filling in the form of a rollable closing material.
  • rollable closing materials can be foils, fabrics or roller shutter panels.
  • the rollable closing material is sometimes also referred to as a curtain.
  • foil tarpaulin is also often used. In any case, it is a material that is so flexible that it can be rolled up onto a winding shaft and that can simultaneously close a wall opening.
  • Two end positions are provided. In the first end position, which is referred to as the opening position, the filling essentially opens up a wall opening. In the second end position, referred to as the closing position, the wall opening is essentially closed.
  • horizontally opening roller doors are known in two designs are available, on the one hand, in a design with a single winding shaft and a single filling that is rolled up on the single winding shaft. This means that a single curtain closes or opens the wall opening.
  • double-leaf roller doors are used, i.e. there are two winding shafts, each of which can be wound up with a rollable closing material.
  • the two fillings meet in the middle, possibly in a division other than half, from where they are opened again.
  • Both door variants and other conceivable door variants are included in the present invention. The crucial thing is that it is a horizontally opening roller door.
  • a wear-free floor sealing is provided.
  • the wear-free floor seal is created by a part of the roller door that creates the floor seal, namely a lower edge of the filling or a seal attached to the lower edge of the filling, only being able to come into contact with a floor or with a sealing counterpart in the floor at the end of the closing process of the roller door.
  • this part of the roller door can be removed from the floor again at the start of an opening process or this part of the roller door and the sealing counterpart can be removed from each other again. In this way, the floor-sealing part does not drag over the ground during opening and closing, but only touches the floor when the door is closed.
  • the opening and closing process of the gate is friction-free or at least almost friction-free with respect to the lower edge of the gate.
  • no or at most very low friction forces act on the part of the roller door that seals the door to the ground when closed.
  • the door When the door is closed, also exerts no or at most very low friction forces on the floor seal.
  • the gate does not move at all when closed or at most moves very slightly, e.g. when a strong wind presses on the gate. Since no or practically no friction occurs in the area of the floor seal, the floor seal is referred to as wear-free in the context of the present invention.
  • a floor seal is provided, for example, by a gate that can be lowered at least in part in the closed position, in particular by a filling that can be lowered onto the ground or by a gate that can be lowered onto the ground as a whole.
  • a slanting filling that does not come into contact with the ground for practically the entire closing path, but sinks continuously towards the ground and then, when the closed position is reached, has reached the ground with its lower edge, is also included in the above definition of a roller door that can be lowered at least in part in the closed position. Due to the lowerability described above, the part of the gate or the filling that creates the floor seal comes into contact with the ground, also known as the floor.
  • the closing process of the roller door itself therefore initially takes place without contact with the ground.
  • the filling initially moves preferably exclusively horizontally.
  • the part of the roller door that creates the floor seal is lowered. This means that, for example, the lower edge of the filling or a seal attached there comes into contact with the ground or with a sealing counterpart located there, which seals the floor.
  • the opening process takes place in the opposite way - the part that is lowered during the lowering process, e.g. the filling or the door as a whole, is raised first and only then does the filling move horizontally to clear the door opening.
  • a method, which is not part of the invention, is provided for opening or closing a horizontally movable roller door.
  • This roller door has, as previously explained, at least one filling in the form of a wrapable closing material.
  • the filling is moved between an opening position as the first end position, in which it essentially opens a wall opening, and a closing position as the second end position, in which it essentially closes the wall opening.
  • a wear-free floor seal is created by the part of the roller door that creates the floor seal being moved almost exclusively vertically in contact with the floor, without being moved laterally in contact with the floor. The vertical floor-contacting movement of the part of the roller door that creates the A horizontal opening or closing movement of the filling does not actually take place at the same time.
  • the wear-free floor seal is created in that the part of the roller shutter that creates the floor seal is only movable vertically in contact with the floor, without being movable laterally in contact with the floor, wherein a vertical floor-contacting movement of the part of the roller shutter that creates the floor seal and a horizontal opening or closing movement of the filling do not take place simultaneously.
  • the roller door does not require a lower guide, e.g. guide rails or similar.
  • a lower guide e.g. guide rails or similar.
  • a preferred embodiment is that a vertically movable filling is provided. In the closed position of the door, this vertically movable filling is lowered compared to the open position of the door, so that a floor seal is achieved. During the opening process, however, the filling is raised so that there is a distance between the lower end of the filling and the ground over which the roller door is moved.
  • the wear-free floor seal is created by making the roller door vertically movable.
  • the roller door as a whole, or at least the majority of it, is therefore moved vertically downwards when closed until the lower edge of the filling touches the floor.
  • To open the door the entire door is raised, which creates a gap in the floor so that the curtain can be rolled up without touching the floor.
  • a seal is provided which is mounted in the ground beneath the roller shutter or beneath the wall opening which is closed by the roller shutter.
  • This seal which is referred to as the sealing counterpart in relation to the lower edge of the filling, can be activated when the shutter is in the closed position.
  • activatable means that the seal can be brought into a position or can assume a position so that the gap in the ground can be overcome. This can be achieved, for example, by the seal being able to be raised or by it being inflatable. In this way, the part of the roller shutter which creates the ground seal and the sealing counterpart come into contact and seal the roller shutter to the ground.
  • a set is provided comprising a roller shutter and a seal which can be mounted in or on the ground.
  • a diagonally running filling is proposed.
  • the filling is not moved parallel over the ground, but rather it is moved diagonally to the ground.
  • the lower edge of the film is therefore closer to the ground than during the opening process and is furthest away when open.
  • the filling slowly approaches the ground during the closing process and reaches it when closed, namely the filling as a whole, not just the foremost corner of the filling.
  • it is the other way round, i.e. the filling moves further away from the ground as the opening movement progresses.
  • the winding process deviates from the right angle.
  • a preferred embodiment of the invention provides, as already briefly explained above, that the filling, but not the door as a whole, is vertically movable. In the closed position, the filling is lowered and for the opening process, the filling is raised.
  • the filling is attached at a first end to a so-called driver and this driver is vertically movable, which in turn causes the filling to move vertically.
  • the driver is attached to the end of the windable closing material, which can be referred to as the leading end during the opening and closing process.
  • the other, the second end is connected to the winding shaft onto which the closing material is wound or from which it is unwound during the closing or opening process.
  • the driver is thus located at the opposite end, i.e. on one of the two side edges of the closing material. Parts of the driver or the entire driver are thus movable in the up-down direction according to the invention.
  • a profile is provided in the carrier, to which the filling is in turn attached and which is vertically movable in the carrier.
  • the filling is not directly attached to the carrier and the carrier itself is not vertically movable, but the fastening of the wrapable covering material to the carrier takes place indirectly via fastening to a profile guided in the carrier, which in turn can perform an up and down movement in the carrier.
  • the filling is vertically movable because the winding shaft is vertically movable. This also enables a vertical movement of the covering material.
  • combinations of the above alternatives also represent preferred solutions, for example a combination of a vertically movable winding shaft with a vertically movable driver or a combination of a vertically movable winding shaft with a vertically movable profile in the driver.
  • a combination of vertical mobility on both side edges of the finishing material has the advantage that the finishing material can be lowered onto the substrate and lifted off of it particularly evenly.
  • the vertical movement can be carried out using all known means, such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic or magnetic means.
  • an electric motor can be provided which raises the winding shaft and driver, or which raises and lowers the entire door.
  • Magnets can also be provided, in particular electromagnets, so that the lifting of the winding shaft and profile in the driver, for example, is done by magnetic force during the closing and opening process. When the door is closed, the electromagnet is switched off and the winding shaft and profile in the driver, and thus the filling, fall off the magnet and sink to the ground in this way.
  • the vertical mobility is achieved purely mechanically.
  • a control curve is provided in the closing area of the gate, e.g. in the middle area or elsewhere if the two gate leaves are asymmetrically divided, and in the case of a single-leaf gate, on the closing side of the gate, which converts the horizontal movement into a vertical one, e.g. a lowering element such as a stop or a similar element that has a slanted edge.
  • the filling is in turn attached to an element that serves as a means for dragging the filling, for example a trolley, carriage, sliding element or roller.
  • a tension-exerting element also referred to as a traction means, for example a pull rod or a pull rope.
  • This tension-exerting element can be used to convert the horizontal movement of the filling into a vertical movement of the winding shaft when the closed position is reached.
  • the tension-exerting element The element is connected at one end to the winding shaft, onto which the closing material can be wound.
  • the means for dragging the filling interacts with the element exerting tension, whereby the winding shaft performs a vertical movement.
  • the trolley or another means for dragging the filling actuates a lever or another actuating element, whereby the element exerting tension is moved, which in turn exerts pressure on the winding shaft - the winding shaft is lowered.
  • a vertical movement of the winding shaft can also be achieved by providing a pressure-exerting element, for example a pressure rod, instead of a tension-exerting means.
  • a pressure-exerting element for example a pressure rod
  • the carrier or movable profile in the carrier and winding shaft are preferably moved in the same direction and vertically at the same time. This means that the filling is lowered or raised evenly overall.
  • a pre-tensioning element or energy storage device is provided, for example a spring, which can be pre-tensioned by the closing process.
  • the load on the element is relieved, whereby the roller door opens automatically and at the same time the vertical upward movement of the filling is carried out.
  • This has the advantage that energy only needs to be applied for the closing process, while the opening process is purely mechanical, without any energy expenditure.
  • the door can be opened by hand in an emergency by simply triggering the pre-tensioning element or the energy storage device. In an emergency, the door can therefore be opened independently of a power supply.
  • a sealing lip or another type of seal can be provided on an edge of the filling close to the ground, which ensures particularly good floor sealing by being easily adaptable to the substrate.
  • a seal can be, for example, a film strip, a foam strip, a double seal or even an inflatable seal.
  • Figure 1 shows schematically a first embodiment of the invention in the form of a roller door with a vertically movable filling, more precisely an embodiment in which the filling is vertically movable by a profile mounted in the driver 20 (in Figure 1 not shown; cf. Figures 4-6 ) and a winding shaft 50 are vertically movable.
  • the windable closing material 10 is connected with its first end 11 to the winding shaft 50 and with its second end 12 to the driver 20, more precisely in the present embodiment with a profile located in the driver 20.
  • this is a two-leaf roller door, the two gate leaves, the first gate leaf 3 and the second gate leaf 4, meet in the middle and thus form a wall opening that can be closed with it (in Figure 1 not shown).
  • Figure 1 shows two states of the gate 1.
  • the left half shows the state in which the wrapable closing material 10, which serves as the filling of the gate 1, is not lowered, so that a gap 5 remains between the floor 2, which is also referred to as the subfloor, and the lower edge 13 of the wrapable closing material 10.
  • the filling assumes this state when it is fully opened, i.e. when the wrapable closing material is completely or almost completely wound onto the winding shaft 50, and during the horizontal opening and closing movement (arrow H).
  • the windable closing material 10 is lowered by a vertical movement (arrow V) so that there is contact with the ground and a gap 5 in the ground is no longer visible, as shown on the right side of the Figure 1 .
  • the right side of the Figure 1 shows a roller shutter door 1 in the second end position, i.e. in its closed position.
  • the left side shows a door leaf 3 in a position shortly before reaching the second end position - the horizontal movement has already been fully completed, whereas the vertical movement has not yet taken place.
