Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for producing a watch glass with at least one gem. Furthermore, the present invention relates to such a watch glass and a watch which is provided with such a watch glass.
  • CH 670 185 A shows a method according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a method for producing a watch glass with at least one gem comprising the steps of providing a carrier glass, providing a cover glass, making at least one recess in the carrier glass, providing at least one gem, inserting the at least one gem in the at least one recess of the carrier glass, the placement of the cover glass on the carrier glass, and the fixing of the entire arrangement of the carrier glass and the cover glass by means of a circumference entire arrangement enclosing retaining element.
  • the alignment of the gemstone in the recess thus remains unchanged, which results in a high-quality aesthetic appearance, in particular a uniform and harmonious appearance of a watch glass with a large number of gemstones.
  • the watch glass is produced from the carrier glass and the cover glass in an inexpensive and simple manner.
  • carrier glass refers to the glass that carries the gemstones, regardless of the arrangement of the glass in the watch glass.
  • the glass having gemstones which are arranged in the upper glass, the upper glass as a carrier glass and the lower glass as a cover glass.
  • the cover slip can preferably have at least one recess.
  • the cover glass can have at least one recess aligned with the at least one recess of the carrier glass.
  • a first part of the gem can be arranged in the recess of the carrier glass and a second part of the gem in the corresponding recess of the cover glass.
  • the two glasses can each be made thinner, which is advantageous for the optical effect of the watch glass, especially if a large gemstone is used.
  • the sum of the thickness of the carrier glass and the thickness of the cover glass at the location of the recess can preferably be greater than the height of the gem.
  • both glasses wear at least one gem.
  • the cover slip is therefore also to be regarded as a carrier glass.
  • the holding element can preferably be designed as a sleeve.
  • the holding element can have any shape. In this context, it is advantageous if the holding element and the entire arrangement have the same shape on their contact surface.
  • a cohesive connection is made between the holding element and the circumference of the entire arrangement from the carrier glass and the cover glass. Since the carrier glass and the cover glass are fixed to one another on the circumference via the holding element, the optical effect of the gemstone is not impaired.
  • the integral connection extends over an entire contact area between the holding element and the circumference of the entire arrangement. A more stable fixation of the two glasses is thus achieved, because the two glasses are not only held together indirectly via the holding element, but also directly through the integral connection formed over the entire contact surface.
  • the cohesive connection is particularly preferably designed as an adhesive connection.
  • the watch glass is thus manufactured in a simple and inexpensive manner.
  • a hardening liquid adhesive or an adhesive film can be used to provide the adhesive connection.
  • the optical impression of the watch glass is not affected by the adhesive connection, even if the adhesive used is changed over a long period of time by the action of ultraviolet radiation, since the adhesive connection is produced on the circumference of the entire arrangement from the two glasses.
  • a positive connection between the carrier glass and the cover glass is established via the holding element.
  • the carrier glass and the cover glass are thus held together by the action of a mechanical force.
  • the glasses cannot come apart when assembled.
  • form-fitting and material-fitting connections can be combined.
  • the positive connection is advantageously designed as a screw connection.
  • the positive connection can be made detachable. This can be particularly advantageous if the two glasses e.g. to check the gemstones must be separated.
  • Other positive connections are also conceivable.
  • the holding element can be shrunk onto the entire arrangement of the carrier glass and the cover glass. This can e.g. by heating the holding element in a first step before the entire arrangement of the carrier glass and the cover glass is inserted into the holding element, and then cooling the holding element in a second step.
  • At least part of a watch case can be used as the holding element. Potential assembly errors, the number of which generally increases with the number of components involved in an assembly process, can thus be reduced.
  • the recess can preferably be made by means of a laser.
  • the recess is formed in a precise and precise manner, which leads to the cover glass and the carrier glass nestling well against one another.
  • Laser is the most practical method, but the recess can also be made using water steel, ultrasound or a diamond drill.
  • the recess is particularly preferably hemispherical or spherical, the recess being polished in particular from the inside. This triggers a high-quality optical effect.
  • the recess can also have a step-like or conical shape.
  • Another aspect of the invention relates to a watch glass which is produced by the method according to the invention. This is associated with the advantages described above in relation to the method according to the invention.
  • the watch glass can be manufactured stably and inexpensively.
  • the Fig. 1 shows a clock 10 in the form of a wristwatch with a housing 11 and a watch glass 1 according to the invention, which is arranged in the housing 11 and provided with gemstones 5.
  • the housing 11 and the watch glass 1 are circular, but can have any other shape such as a rectangle, a polygon, etc.
  • the watch glass 1 can also be pillow-shaped or rectangular.
  • four gemstones 5 shown as diamonds are arranged in the watch glass 1 with a constant radius in the circumferential direction at the same distance from one another.
  • the position and the number of gemstones 5 can be chosen according to the watch design. For example, it is also possible to install a gem, two or twelve gems in the watch glass 1.
  • the watch 10 also has a dial 12, which is designed, for example, as a gold leaf, as well as three hands 13 for displaying the hours, minutes and seconds, and two connections for a bracelet 14.
  • the Fig. 2 is a highly simplified, schematic view of a section AA of the watch glass 1 of FIG Fig. 1 when assembled.
  • the watch glass 1 has a carrier glass 2 and a cover glass 3.
  • the carrier glass 2 and the cover glass 3 are formed from the same type of glass, in particular mineral glass. Other types of glass can also be used. It is possible within the scope of the invention to combine different types of glass.
  • Recesses 4 are arranged in the carrier glass 2 and serve to receive gemstones 5.
  • the cover glass 3 and the carrier glass 2 are circular and have the same diameter.
  • the glasses 2, 3 differ in their thickness, the cover glass 3 being formed thinner. However, it is also possible for the two glasses 2, 3 to have the same thickness.
  • an inner surface 20 of the carrier glass 2 and an inner surface 30 of the cover glass 3 are flat at the contact point of the two glasses 2, 3. According to an alternative embodiment, the inner surfaces 20, 30 can also be curved in the same and complementary manner.
  • the glasses 2, 3 are held together by means of a holding element 7 which completely surrounds a circumference 6 of the entire arrangement of the carrier glass 2 and the cover glass 3.
  • the holding element 7 is sleeve-shaped, its inner shape corresponding to the outer shape of the glasses, so that a stable fixation of the two glasses 2, 3 with one another is achieved.
  • the glasses 2, 3 already provided are placed one on top of the other after recesses 4 have been made in the carrier glass 2 by means of a laser and gemstones have been inserted into the recesses 4.
  • the recesses 4 can also be formed mechanically using a diamond drill or using a water jet or ultrasound.
  • the entire arrangement of the carrier glass 2 and the cover glass 3 is then inserted into the holding element 7.
  • the carrier glass 2 and the cover glass 3 are integrally connected to the holding element 7.
  • the holding element 7 is glued to a peripheral surface 60 of the entire arrangement of the carrier glass 2 and the cover glass 3.
  • a liquid adhesive is used for this, which is hardened after some time.
  • an adhesive film can also be used.
  • the holding element 7 and the entire arrangement of the carrier glass 2 and the cover glass 3 have essentially the same length in the vertical direction V.
  • the vertical direction V runs perpendicular to the large surfaces of the glasses 2, 3.
  • the integral connection 8 between the holding element 7 and the entire arrangement of the glasses 2, 3 extends over an entire contact surface 80 of the holding element 7 and the entire peripheral surface 60.
  • the holding element 7 can be partially connected to the peripheral surface 60. This can reduce the time and the costs for fixing the two glasses 2, 3 together.
  • the holding element 7 is formed as part of the housing 11 of the clock 10. This means that no additional component is required, which makes assembly easier and potential assembly errors are reduced.
  • the carrier glass 2 and the cover glass 3 are fixed to one another in a simple, cost-effective and rapid manner and thus form a glass unit 15 in the assembled state a viewer can no longer be distinguished.
  • the watch glass 1 produced by the method according to the invention has an elegant appearance since the glasses 2, 3 of the watch glass 1 are held together at their edge by the holding element 7 and not by the contact surface between the inner sides 20, 30 of the two glasses 2, 3.
  • Fig. 4 shows the watch glass 1 in the assembled state.
  • the watch glass 1 differs from the first exemplary embodiment in that the carrier glass 2 and the cover glass 3 are gripped via the holding element 7 by a positive connection 9.
  • the positive connection 9 between the carrier glass 2 and the cover glass 3 is designed as a screw connection.
  • a multi-part holding element 7 which has a first part 70 in the form of a sleeve and a second part 72 in the form of a base.
  • the first part 70 is provided with a first thread 71 and the second part 72 with a second thread 73.
  • the first thread 71 is designed as an internal thread and the second thread 73 as an external thread.
  • the second part 72 is connected to the carrier glass 2, in particular glued to the carrier glass 2. However, such a connection between the second part 72 of the holding element 7 and the carrier glass 2 is optimal.
  • the second part 72 is arranged on the lower side of the carrier glass 2, as a result of which the second part 72 cannot be seen at all or is not easy to see.
  • the second part 72 can be connected to the upper side of the cover slip 3.
  • a chamfer 31 is chamfered inwards on the outer surface, the first part 70 of the holding element 7 having a bulge 74.
  • the first part 70 is screwed onto the second part 72.
  • the glasses 2, 3 are held together in the assembled state of the watch glass 1.
  • the first part 70 of the holding element 7 presses the cover glass 2 onto the carrier glass 3 via a contact point between the bulge 74 and the chamfer 31.
  • the provision of the bulge 74 and the chamfer 31 enables an even more clever optical effect of the watch glass 1.
  • the holding element 7 can be flanged over the entire circumference at both ends according to an alternative embodiment of the invention.
  • the first part 70 and the second part 72 can be glued together, depending on the application.
