  • the invention relates to a gliding board equipped, in particular, with an anchoring rail intended to ensure the connection and the blocking of a specific base for receiving and fixing a boot.
  • the invention relates to the field of sliding sports, on snow or water, and relates more particularly to improvements both to the board and to the binding device ensuring the connection between the base for receiving the boot and the board.
  • boards for gliding or surfing comprise a core generally made of wood or polyurethane provided with at least one upper layer and a lower reinforcing layer. These boards can be provided with at least one strip or a rail ensuring the anchoring and immobilization of the bases for receiving the shoes to allow the adjustment of the longitudinal position of each of the bases on the gliding board.

  • the FROM 196 33 536 and the US 6,189,899 describe surfboards comprising an anchoring rail in the form of a metal section mounted on the board by internally delimiting a groove for receiving a locking element of the base which is partially closed, on its upper edge and on either side, by longitudinal retaining shoulders.
  • shoulders carry, on their inner edge or on their upper face, a series of notches cooperating with rows of teeth carried by the lower face of the central locking disc of the fixing base to ensure its locking in translation, when the adjustment position on the board has been performed.
  • the two rows of teeth extend under the disc along two parallel and substantially diametral lines and near the center of the disc to position themselves opposite and in contact with the notches of the anchoring rail.
  • the dimensions of the teeth are necessarily limited because the width of the rail must be narrow enough to effectively trap the anchoring element and this compromise is detrimental to the effectiveness of the restraint in translation of the base.
  • the object of the present invention is to solve these technical problems satisfactorily and effectively by providing, thanks to a simple arrangement, a board the upper face of which is perfectly flat and a improved binding device in which the anchoring function and the function of blocking in translation of the base are provided in a separate and optimized manner as well as complete surf equipment comprising said board equipped with the improved device.

  • the crenellated crown delimits the outer edge of the peripheral toothed sector, the inner edge of which is rectilinear.
  • the peripheral toothed sector comprises at least one outer edge which extends over an angular zone of the lower periphery of the disc.
  • the toothed sectors are produced in the form of ortho-radial parallel bands.

  • the translation locking means do not modify or disturb in any way the mode of anchoring of the base in the board.
  • the device of the invention remains compatible with two possible modes of anchoring (standard 4x4 with screwed central crown or central cam) and can therefore receive two types of shoe binding base.
  • This configuration makes the board equipped with the device of the invention particularly aesthetic and easy to store or transport since its upper face has no roughness.
  • the binding device of the invention is intended to equip gliding boards such as a snowboard S ( figure 1 ) in order to ensure the anchoring and the reversible immobilization of the bases E for receiving the shoes, one embodiment of which is illustrated by figure 2A .
  • Each of these bases delimits an open housing in which a shoe or a boot (not shown) is intended to be immobilized by retaining means, not shown which may for example be retaining straps.
  • Such a fixing device generally comprises; on the one hand, a first set of parts assembled to each other on and around a base E, (some can be dismantled and replaced in the event of wear) and, on the other hand, a second set of integrated parts in plate S.
  • a first set of parts assembled to each other on and around a base E (some can be dismantled and replaced in the event of wear)
  • a second set of integrated parts in plate S for reasons of clarity, only the parts which directly concern the invention will be described in more detail below.
  • the first set of pieces illustrated by the figures 2A and 3A , is mounted on the base E and gives it the possibilities of adjustment in angular position.
  • This set of parts essentially comprises an axial pivot actuating a locking disc 4 (sometimes associated with one or more spacers) and an anchoring element T which is presented, in the embodiment shown here (in particular, by the figure 2B, 2C and 3B ), in the form of a pivoting and retractable pin (in the form of an inverted T) carried by the lower part of the central disc 4 to secure the base E to the board S. Once engaged in the rail, this pin can pivot 90 degrees to place the drive and disc in a vertical holding position.
  • the central locking disc 4 cooperates by screwing with the anchor element T to allow its rotation of 90 degrees.
  • the disc 4 comprises elements for preventing rotation in the form of rings or crenellated rings 4a produced under its lower surface and intended to cooperate with a second toothed ring 4b produced opposite the base E. Complete screwing of the upper ring rotation of the disc 4 then makes it possible to tighten the two crowns against each other to prevent the base E from rotating relative to the central disc 4.
  • the gliding board S comprises a rigid section 1 (preferably aluminum) intended to ensure the connection with the base E via the anchoring element T, in order to allow the fixing of the shoes.
  • the anchoring element T is positioned in the section or rail 1 then turned a quarter of a turn to ensure the vertical retention of the disc 4 and the base E relative to the board S.
  • the fins T1 and T2 ( figure 2C ) formed by the bar of the T are then positioned under the shoulders 11 of the anchor rail 1 to ensure the vertical retention of the disc 4 relative to the board S.
  • This profile is intended to be housed entirely in the structure of the board, as illustrated by the figures 1 and 2A and as shown in sectional detail on the figure 4 .
  • the profile 1 forms a rail defining a groove 10 open at the top.
  • This groove extends in the longitudinal direction of the board and ensures the reception and guidance of the anchoring element T carried by the base E.
  • the anchoring element T can be moved in translation on along rail 1 before being locked in the longitudinal position chosen using the axial pivot allowing complete locking of disc 4 on the base E.
  • the groove 10 is partially closed, on its upper edge and on either side, by straight longitudinal shoulders 11.
  • the shoulders 11 participate in retaining the anchoring element T of the base E in the rail 1.
  • the cooperation between the groove 10 and the anchoring element T thus makes it possible, in a manner known per se, to secure the feet of the surfer with the board in longitudinal positions capable of being adjusted prior to the locking of the base E, the distance between the feet being an important parameter to be regulated by the surfer.
  • the rider can choose the angular position of each of the bases E relative to the board S by unlocking the central locking pivot which makes it possible to release the toothed crowns positioned on the disc 4 and on the periphery of the the opening of the base E.
  • the total locking of the central pivot allows both the rotation locking of the base E relative to the disc 4 and to the board S and the translation locking of the base E on board S.
  • the fixing device of the invention is generally in pairs, each device being associated with a single base E ( figures 1,2A , 3A ), it would however be possible to provide, according to a variant not shown, for this device to be adapted (for example, by modifying its geometry but without necessarily changing its structure) to receive on its own two bases.
  • the board S could be equipped with a single rail long enough to allow the mounting of the two bases and four notched bars would then be positioned opposite each other two by two, on either side of this single rail. .
  • the board S has two rails the opening of the groove 10 of each rail 1 of which generally has a length of between 90 mm and 180 mm and, preferably between 110 mm and 130 mm to avoid stiffening. the board in flexion.
  • Each of the rails 1 is then intended to receive a single base E.
  • the width of the opening of the groove 10 of the rail is, for its part, between 15 mm and 25 mm to ensure a good hold of the base E.
  • the section 1 forming a rail is intended to be housed entirely in the thickness of the board so that the opening of the groove 10 extends substantially flush with the upper face which thus remains perfectly flat. More precisely, the opening of the groove can be either at the level of the upper face of the board, or a few millimeters below if the shoulders 11 are covered, partially or totally, by the upper protective layer. F and / or by a reinforcing layer R2 (these different layers will be described below with reference to figures 4, 5A and 5B ).
  • the section 1 carries hooking fins 12 extending in the transverse direction of the board S and intended to be sealed in its thickness, thus securing the connection of the anchoring rail with the internal structure. from plate S.
  • fins 12 are produced here in one piece with the body of the profile 1 to which they are connected laterally and at mid-height.

  • notched bars 21, 22 extend at a distance from the rail 1 and each cooperate, by gear, with one of the two toothed sectors made opposite on the underside of the disc 4.
  • This arrangement also has the advantage of offering better stability of the base E owing to the fact that the action of the central anchoring element T is reinforced by the lateral grip of the toothed sectors 41, 42 in the bars 21, 22, in the manner of pillars.
  • notched bars are separate and away from the shoulders 11 of the rail 1 so as not to weaken the rail 1 and to maintain sufficient resistance to tearing off the anchoring element T.

  • the length of the bars 21, 22 is shorter than the length of the rail 1 given that the disc 4 comprises lateral stops 44a, 44b. These stops provide guidance in the groove of the rail 1 and participate in the locking of the disc 4 in rotation relative to the rail 1.
  • This configuration requires the provision of a longer rail 1 to allow the accommodation and movement of these stops 44a, 44b.
  • the rail 1 and the bars 21, 22 would then have approximately the same length.
  • the profile of the notches 210, 220 of the bars 21, 22 is symmetrical to facilitate adjustment by moving the disc 4 in both directions so that it is also easy for the user to bring his feet closer to one another or to keep them away.
