If the adhesive forces between the self-adhesive layer and the film exceed the internal binding forces of the self-adhesive layer, a thin self-adhesive layer will remain on the film when the sealing tape is removed from the supply roll, so that the removed sealing tape allows bonding to the adjoining joint walls on both sides.
- the partially withdrawn from the supply roll and in the withdrawn length elastically recovered seal tape 1 is made of an open-cell foam 2, which is provided on one side of the sealing tape 1 with a self-adhesive layer 3 and on the opposite side a film 4, with respect their adhesion properties in conjunction with the self-adhesive layer 3 is formed so that a releasable adhesion is achieved.
- Such a sealing tape 1 is wound on a winding core 5 under precompression, the self-adhesive layer 3 coming to lie on the inside and the film 4 on the outside of the adjacent turns 6 of the supply roll.
