Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a lock for an opening of a motor vehicle.
  • a lock of a motor vehicle is intended to be mounted on an opening of a motor vehicle and typically comprises a bolt for pivoting around a striker fixed to the structure of the motor vehicle to ensure the closing of the opening.
  • the opening of the opening is performed by a rotation of the bolt in the opposite direction.
  • the rotation in the opposite direction called “opening direction of the leaf”
  • Said rotation in the opposite direction can also be achieved by the rotation of the inner handle which is connected to the lock by a control means which acts on an opening lever, called “inside”.
  • the rotation of the latter causes the rotation of another lever called “intermediate” which pivots and releases in turn the bolt via a shackle in the desired direction.
  • external handle a handle disposed on the opening of the motor vehicle operable by a user located outside the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle.
  • inner handle a handle disposed on the opening of the motor vehicle operable by a user located inside the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle.
  • outer opening lever the lever for opening the lock which is driven in displacement by the action of a user on the outer handle.
  • the inertial force exerted on the opening can exert a sufficient traction force on a control means and act on an opening lever to control the opening of the lock and thus the release of the 'opening, especially on the external opening lever.
  • the lock lock can be achieved by an external obstacle causing a deformation due to a temporary or permanent inertial movement, with a possibility of post-shock restoration in the latter case.
  • Blocking by an external obstacle is typically achieved by a system that intervenes by deformation of the door. If a deformation is greater than a threshold value, then there is an external obstacle that blocks the movement of the opening chain.
  • the locking instruction typically comes from deformation of the vehicle sheet.
  • the deformation of this sheet will come to position an obstacle belonging either to the lock or the sheet metal, opposite the opening lever outside.
  • the lever intervenes directly in the opening of the lock, the latter can not be done.
  • a spring-loaded shim is typically attached to the outer opening lever. Inertial force moves said shim to the side during movement of said lever. A chute receives the hold and prevents it from going back down while the outside opening lever is activated. The external opening lever can not be activated, there is no opening.
  • Locks of this type are for example known documents DE 195 11651 A1 , EP 1 371 799 A2 , DE 10 2011 010815 and US 2014/0291997 A1 .
  • this system requires a good knowledge of the shock, including the movement of the handle in case of shocks, a certain synchronization of the adjustment movements and some insensitivity to the movement of the outer opening lever.
  • An object of the invention is to propose a lock for a motor vehicle which allows to prohibit the external or internal opening under the effect of an inertial force, whether single or multiple, applied to the lock during a car accident, while allowing, once the inertial force becomes zero, the reopening of the lock without the disadvantages of the prior art.
  • the lock of the present invention thus makes it possible to effectively block the door and to prevent the opening of the lock for a movement of one of the opening levers.
  • Said lock also has the advantage of being able to return the locking system to the initial position under the effect of a simple pull operation of the opening lever not intended to be blocked by the blocking means after the impact.
  • Such locking system is advantageously independent of the geometry of the door, the movement of the handle and the type of shock, does not generate stress on the kinematic chain, does not require delicate adjustment and is independent of geometric constraints.
  • the invention also relates to a motor vehicle having an opening and a lock for opening and closing said opening.
  • the lock of the invention comprises two types of opening lever: an inner opening lever and an outer opening lever.
  • the outside opening lever is connected via a cable, such as the Bowden cable, or a rod to the outside handle.
  • the inner opening lever is connected via another cable to the inner handle.
  • said Inner opening lever is also connected via one or more elements to an intermediate opening lever that allows the opening of the lock.
  • the lock of the invention 1 is adapted to open any type of opening of a motor vehicle, in particular a side door 2.
  • FIG. 1 On this figure 1 is illustrated an example of side impact in a direction 3 substantially perpendicular to the main axis 4 of the motor vehicle 5.
  • the shock may be generated by any kind of element, here is shown a motor vehicle 6.
  • Such a shock acts on the external handle in the opening direction of the latter, according to an oscillating movement comprising one or more phases during which the rod or the cable is pulled which may thereby cause the opening of the lock.
  • the opening lever 10A is the external opening lever connected to the outer handle of the opening 2 via the Bowden cable 7.
  • the opening lever 10B is the lever of the opening. intermediate opening connected directly or indirectly to the inner handle of the opening 2 via a cable or a rod (not shown).
  • the lock when one of the opening levers, external or intermediate, is blocked by the blocking means, the lock can not open under the effect of the shock.
  • each lever 10A and 10B comprises a cam 11A and 11B, respectively, rotatable about an axis of rotation 8, when traction is exerted on the control means, namely the Bowden cable 7 or the rod acting on the lever intermediate opening 10B.
  • the opening lever 10A may furthermore comprise a drive means, such as a first stop (not shown) to accompany the locking means 12 from the active position to the rest position if the outer opening lever 10A is driven by action on the outer handle towards the opening direction of the opening 2.
  • a drive means such as a first stop (not shown) to accompany the locking means 12 from the active position to the rest position if the outer opening lever 10A is driven by action on the outer handle towards the opening direction of the opening 2.
  • the drive means may be supported by the cam 11A in the form of at least one protrusion 13 which allows the passage of the locking means 12 in the rest position.
  • the locking means 12 which is itself provided with an elastic tab 12a to help this passage.
  • the elastic tab 12a is typically in abutment against a fixed element 12b of the lock of the invention and intended to exert a restoring force on the locking means 12 when the latter is in the active locking position.
  • the elastic tab 12a has the shape of a substantially thin blade having deformation characteristics for exerting on the locking means 12 a restoring force towards the rest position.
  • the cam 11A may have a bearing surface adapted to make contact with the locking means 12 so as to drive the latter in the rest position and to reset the elastic return means 14.
  • the protrusion 13 of the cam 11A may have a hook-like shape formed by a structural abutment defining a recess for receiving a portion 15 of blocking means 12 when the latter is in the active locking position so as to block the movement the opening lever 10.
  • the triggering means 16 and the locking means 12 may be each movable in rotation or in translation.
  • the trigger means 16 is movable in translation, in particular along a substantially collinear axis with the plane formed by the cams 11A and 11B.
  • the locking means 12 is rotatable about an axis of rotation 17 substantially collinear with the axis of rotation 8 of the cams 11A and 11B.
  • the triggering means 16 is thus configured so as to block any movement of the locking means 12.
  • the triggering means 16 may comprise a holding protrusion 18 coming substantially in or on a complementary notch 20 present in the locking means 12 This geometry makes it possible to dispense with the manufacturing sets of the locking means and the triggering means.
  • the resilient locking spring means 14 exert a permanent torque on the holding protrusion 18 which tends to raise the locking means 12 towards the locking position .
  • the trigger means can be embodied as a single piece or a multitude of pieces.
  • the triggering means 16 may also be associated with an unlocking spring means of its own, such as a compression spring 24, which allows a translational movement of said triggering means 16.
  • the associated spring release means 24 by means of trigger 16 is fixed on a fixed part of the lock 1 of the invention.
  • the assembly formed by the triggering means 16 and the associated spring return means 24 are arranged to move following the resultant inertial force of the side impact suffered by the lock 1 of the invention. In other words, in order to set the trigger means 16 and the blocking means 12 in motion, it is necessary that the inertial force in the event of impact experienced by the sash or be greater than the stiffness of the elastic return means 24.
  • Said spring release 24 thus allows said trigger means 16 to retain the locking means 12 in the rest position.
  • said spring release means such as the spring 24 is then compressed, causing the triggering means 16 and releasing the locking means 12.
  • the triggering means 16 then reaches the active position of unblocking, thanks to the spring 24.
  • the blocking means 12 and the opening lever intended not to be blocked cooperate by the contact of an outgrowth 30 belonging to the blocking means 12 on the lever cam 11B. opening to be unblocked.
  • the protrusion 30 belongs to one of the opening levers 10A or 10B, in particular the intermediate opening lever 10B.
  • the protrusion 30 belongs to a separate element of the locking means 12 and the opening levers 10A and 10B.
  • said distinct element may comprise an arm in order to relay the movement undergone by the protrusion 30 to the locking means 12.
  • the protrusion 30 thus makes it possible to put in the rest position from the locking position the blocking means 12 by compressing the resilient locking return means 14.
  • the opening lever 10A intended to be blocked can assist in the return to the rest position by rearming itself said resilient locking spring means 14.
  • the protrusion 30 can be made integrally or not with the locking means 12.
  • cam 11B of the intermediate opening lever prefferably bears the protrusion 30 which bears on a surface of the locking means configured to allow the drive of the locking means of the locking position to the rest position.
  • the locking means 12 is also associated with the resilient locking spring means 14 which may be in the form of one or more springs, in particular in the form of a spiral spring. In the latter case, the spiral spring has an axis of rotation substantially coinciding with that of the blocking means 12.
  • the resilient locking spring means 14 is configured to work by bringing the blocking means 12 from the rest position. towards the active blocking position in the event of release of said blocking means 12 by the triggering means 16.
  • One of the opening levers may comprise a contact surface, in particular an abutment (not shown), able to receive the end of the elastic locking retaining means 14 and to drive the latter so to return the elastic return means 14 in the working position.
  • said lever may be the external opening lever which allows to re-compress the elastic locking return means 14 after actuating the outer handle.
  • the resilient locking spring means 14 comprises an end 28 capable of coming under a stop 32 belonging to the blocking means 12.
  • the locking means 12 may also have a ramp 34 formed on the abutment 32 so as to enable the end 28 to be placed in position under the abutment 32 in the case where the elastic return means 14 is re-compressed by one of the levers.
  • the transition from the active blocking position to the rest position can thus be assisted under the effect of its own weight or assisted by the torque generated by the flexible lug 12a.
  • the return of the blocking means 12 from the blocking position to the rest position can also be accompanied by the resetting of the elastic locking retaining means 14.
  • the locking means 12 comprises at least one elastic arm 39 configured to modify the length of the blocking means 12. Said elongation of the locking means 12 makes it possible to release the elastic locking retaining means 14 with respect to the abutment 32. The resilient locking spring means 14 then no longer exerts torque on the locking means 12. Said elongation of the elastic arm or arms 39 can be achieved when the locking means 12 passes from the active blocking position to the position of rest, especially when said locking means undergoes a significant pull of the opening lever 10 greater than a normal door pulling pull by a user.
  • Each elastic arm 39 has deformation characteristics allowing to resume their original shape after elongation in the locking position of the blocking means 12. Therefore, in order to exit the end 28 of the elastic locking return means, it is necessary to pulling on the outer opening lever 10A greater than the stiffness corresponding to the sum of that of each elastic arm 39.
  • the transition from the blocking position to the rest position is ensured by the cooperation between the locking means 12, via the protrusion 30, and the intermediate opening lever 10B for not being blocked.
  • the external opening lever to be blocked provides only assistance in resting position.
  • the blocking means 12 may be in permanent contact with the opening lever which is not intended to be blocked, here the intermediate opening lever 10B in the rest position, or at a distance from the said opening lever which is not intended to be blocked by so that at each rotation of said lever in the opening direction of the opening, the elastic return means 14 is compressed.
  • This permanent contact in the rest position can be advantageously achieved by the protrusion 30 on the cam 11B of the opening lever.
  • the blocking means 12 may be made of a flexible material, such as an acetal resin, to allow deformation and elongation.
  • the trigger will be realized in the material that will achieve the desired mass for the inertial release.
  • each control means in particular the Bowden cable 7 can rotate the cam 11A or 11B and allow the opening of the lock 1 of the invention without hindrance on the part of the blocking means 12.
  • the elastic return means 14 holds the locking means 12 in abutment against said triggering means 16.
  • the lock 1 of the invention is subjected to a side impact along the direction 3.
  • the trigger element 16 moves and releases the locking means 12 which comes into contact with the cam 11A of the opening lever to be locked, here the outer opening lever 10A, by pivoting about its axis of rotation 17 under the effect of its means elastic return 14.
  • the protrusion 30 is spaced from the two opening levers 10A and 10B.
  • Each opening lever in particular the outer opening lever 10A which is directly connected to the external handle which is subjected to lateral impact 3, can be subjected to acceleration. Said outer opening lever 10A can then begin to rotate under the influence of a pull of the Bowden cable 7 and risk opening the opening 2.
  • the locking means 12 is housed in the recess of the protrusion 11b and blocks the opening lever 10A.
  • the outer opening lever 10A is thus stopped in the rotation that it had begun to perform by the blocking means 12.
