Definitions

  • the invention relates to a mobility aid, in particular rollator or wheelchair, with two side parts, which are interconnected by a hinge arrangement such that the two side parts are translationally movable between a pressed-apart operating configuration and a contracted transport configuration, for which purpose the joint arrangement two are at a crossing point having intersecting legs, wherein on each leg a rotatably mounted joint member is arranged, wherein each leg is rotatably connected to one of the side parts and the respective joint member of a leg is rotatably connected to the respective other side part.
  • Mobility aids are known from the prior art. These are devices which are intended to improve the mobility of the user. Mobility aids are especially designed for elderly and / or motor impaired people. It may be a walker, a wheelchair, a stroller or the like.
  • a generic mobility aid it is common for a generic mobility aid to have a transport configuration in addition to an operational configuration in which it can be used as intended. In the transport configuration, the mobility aid is collapsed to a compact size, collapsed, or the like. In a generic mobility aid, two side parts are movable relative to each other.
  • a side member may be a linkage having runners at a lower end and a handle at an upper end.
  • the present invention relates to such joint arrangements in which a scissor joint designed in a very specific manner is provided.
  • This has two intersecting legs.
  • the scissors hinge may be pivotally connected to the lower ends of the legs at the side parts.
  • the upper ends of the legs are not directly connected to the side parts, but rather each with a hinge member.
  • the hinge member is rotatably connected both to the upper end of the respective leg and to the respective side part.
  • the hinge members may also be provided at the lower ends of the legs.
  • a generic joint arrangement is also characterized by the fact that it has only swivel joints. On sliding joints can be completely dispensed with.
  • Generic mobility aids are for example from the WO 2012/089694 A1 and the US 2007/0267835 A1 known.
  • the mobility aid can be converted into the operating configuration by pushing the two side parts apart.
  • a return to the transport configuration can be achieved by pulling a seat surface arranged at the upper ends of the legs of the articulated arrangement upwards in the middle, whereby the articulated arrangement is correspondingly driven.
  • the known mobility aids have proved their worth, there is still room for improvement.
  • the known mobility aids remain merely in the operating configuration that urges their joint assembly under its own weight in the pushed-apart position of the two side parts.
  • This only works satisfactorily as long as the mobility aid is used as intended.
  • unusual operating conditions for example a lateral leaning against one of the side parts, the driving over curb edges or uneven surfaces and the like, it can happen that the two side parts contract unintentionally. There then takes place an unspecified transfer of the mobility aid in the transport configuration. In the worst case, this can lead to a fall of the person using the mobility aid.
  • a mobility aid according to the preamble of claim 1 is made EP 2 366 372 A1 known.
  • the securing means serves to fix the hinge assembly in the operating configuration.
  • Fix in the operating configuration means that the joint assembly can not be easily converted into the transport configuration.
  • Fixing means in particular that the path of movement of the joint arrangement is at least partially limited. The joint assembly may thus, if necessary, still be moved to a slight extent. However, the travel path required for transfer to the transport configuration is not available.
  • the securing means then serves as an obstacle in the path of movement of the hinge assembly.
  • Fixing can also mean that actuation of the joint assembly is prevented by the securing means. In particular, a rotation of the hinge assembly about one of its axes of rotation is prevented.
  • the hinge assembly is inhibited by the securing means in their mobility.
  • the securing means locks the axes of rotation of the joint arrangement.
  • the securing means By means of the securing means it is achieved that an improper transfer of the mobility aid into the transport configuration can be prevented.
  • the securing means is provided on a hinge member.
  • the securing means may be arranged on the hinge member.
  • the securing means may be captively connected to the hinge member.
  • the securing means may be formed integrally with the hinge member.
  • the securing means can also be a single component which can be handled independently of the other components of the joint arrangement. It is crucial that it interacts with the joint member when used as intended.
  • a mechanism is provided in a generic mobility aid, which only one has a single degree of freedom of movement.
  • the invention is based on the finding that this degree of freedom of movement of the mobility aid mechanism can already be blocked by the fixing or blocking of only one of the swivel joints of the joint arrangement. It is sufficient, for example, to lock the rotatability of a leg and the joint member arranged thereon to one another by a corresponding securing means. The entire hinge assembly can then no longer be moved and the two side panels of the mobility aid remain fixed in the operating configuration.
  • the securing means according to the invention can thus be formed particularly easy to manufacture, in construction and in handling. By a securing means according to the invention a particularly easy-to-use locking mechanism for a mobility aid is achieved.
  • the fixation of the joint assembly by the securing means is achieved by a frictional connection.
  • the securing means is a clamping element.
  • securing means By securing means according to the invention it is achieved that the joint assembly and thus also the mobility aid can be safely operated in the operating configuration.
  • the securing means may in particular be designed such that the forces and moments occurring as a result of an unusual operating state are absorbed by the structure of the mobility aid and do not lead to an actuation of the joint arrangement. This prevents inadvertent collapsing or collapsing of the mobility aid. Injuries and falls of the user can be avoided. The handling of a mobility aid according to the invention is thereby improved.
  • the provision of the securing means on at least one hinge member has the advantage that it is easily accessible if necessary.
  • a securing means arranged at the lower ends of the legs or at the side parts would require, in the case of an actuation, that the user has to stoop comparatively deeply. This is associated with some difficulty for the target group of a mobility aid, namely people with motor skills.
  • the inventively arranged on a joint member Securing means can be easily achieved, for example, by simply gripping under the seat surface of a mobility aid in the operating configuration.
  • the securing means inhibits movement of one of the legs relative to the hinge member rotatably mounted thereon in the operating configuration. It has previously been described that the inhibition of only one of the pivot joints of the joint arrangement is sufficient to prevent the mobility of the joint arrangement as a whole.
  • the securing means fixes the leg and the hinge member arranged thereon relative to each other. This is preferably done at a point of contact spaced from the bearing between the leg and the hinge member. Thus, the contact point is spaced from a common axis of rotation of these two parts. Then these two parts are connected by the axis of rotation on the one hand and the contact point caused by the securing means on the other hand in two spaced-apart points. Relative rotations can be excluded.
  • Such a securing means is easy to produce and also easy to handle.
  • the counterpart may be a cam, a friction surface, a bore and / or the like. It is crucial that the counterpart in contact with the securing means fixes the hinge assembly in the manner described above.
  • the counterpart and the leg may be formed as a one-piece component.
  • the counterpart is then arranged captive on the mobility aid.
  • the counterpart can also be bolted to the leg, glued or connected in other ways.
  • the counterpart can also be releasably connected to the leg, in particular detachable without tools. The handling can be further improved thereby.
  • the securing means projects from one of the hinge members into the path of movement of the leg.
  • the securing means limited in this way the movement path of the hinge member and the leg relative to each other.
  • the securing means is an obstacle in the movement path of the joint member relative to the leg.
  • the securing means is designed to be elastically pivotable. It serves as a kind of clamping tab or friction tab.
  • the securing means By the shape of the securing means, the nature of the surface of the securing means, the material used and / or the like, the frictional force exerted by the securing means in operation on the hinge assembly can be adjusted as needed. Depending on the frictional force exerted by the securing means, the required actuating force changes to translate the mobility aid into either the operating configuration or the transport configuration. By choosing the frictional force, d. H. the formation of the securing means, the mobility aid can be adapted, for example, to the respective user type.
  • the adjustment may be made in relation to the body weight of the user, the forces exerted by him on the mobility aid, and the like.
  • the mobility aid can be set individually for each user. It can be provided, for example, a variety of differently shaped securing means or provided with a securing means hinge members, which are all combined according to the modular principle with the mobility aid combined. For the user, this is associated with a particularly safe, comfortable and thus improved handling.
  • the elastically pivotable securing means serves to inhibit movements of the mobility aid from the operating configuration into the transport configuration.
  • the securing means is designed as a surmountable obstacle in the path of movement of the joint arrangement.
  • the actuating force acting on the joint arrangement must be higher than the frictional force resulting from the contact of the securing means with the counterpart.
  • the securing means thus increases in a partial region of the movement path of the joint arrangement the actuating force required for a movement. If the actuation force is high enough, the securing means can be guided past the counterpart under elastic deflection.
  • the securing means prevents unspecified transfer of the mobility aid in the transport configuration, but allows a desired and thus intended transferring by appropriate effort.
  • a transfer of the mobility aid in the transport configuration can be carried out in particular without direct actuation of the securing means.
  • the user merely has to actuate the joint arrangement in a manner known per se, with a force which exceeds the holding force of the securing means exerted on the joint arrangement.
  • At least one hinge member on two struts which receive the respective legs between them and are arranged rotatably about a common axis on the leg.
  • This axis passes through a hole provided in the leg.
  • the two struts may be formed congruent.
  • the two struts can run parallel to each other.
  • securing means may be provided, which proceed from the struts to each other and protrude into the path of movement of the leg.
  • the securing means can be curved towards each other.
  • the securing means can run parallel to each other like a parabola.
  • the previously described property of the securing means to exert a frictional force on the leg and / or the joint member can thereby be further improved.
  • the securing means protrude from two opposite sides into the path of movement of the leg. The leg can thus not escape contact with the securing means by being guided past the securing means by elastic pivoting or the like. As a result of the above-described embodiment, it is achieved that the leg necessarily comes into contact with the securing means during a movement. The reliability of mobility assistance will be further increased.
  • a bearing for receiving the hinge member on the leg is arranged at a distance from the ends of the leg.
  • the upper end of the leg protrudes freely over the bearing.
  • functional elements can be arranged at the free end of the leg.
  • the inventive design of the joint assembly with a securing means allows it in the first place that the two legs of the scissors joint in the operating configuration can be at a relatively acute angle to each other. Such an acute angle is problematic in the known devices, since an accidental transfer of the mobility aid in the transport configuration by passing for example on the side panels lateral compressive forces can pass to a corresponding extent easier, the sharper the angle between the two legs.
  • the securing means is provided, the legs of the scissors joint can be securely fixed regardless of their angular position solely by the choice of a correspondingly formed securing means.
  • the two legs of the scissors joint with the interposition of a bearing shell assembly in a crossing point are rotatably connected to each other.
  • the bearing shell arrangement preferably has a plurality of individual bearing shells. These can be designed such that they are formed on a first side corresponding to the shape of the legs and provide a sliding surface on a second side. It can then be arranged on each of the two legs such a bearing shell, wherein the sliding surfaces of the bearing shells are brought into contact with each other and then the two legs are rotatably fixed together at the intersection. As a result, a defined surface contact can be achieved at the crossing point.
  • Such a defined contact can not be achieved, for example, with legs which are circular in cross-section, if they slide with their surfaces directly on one another. It turns then only a point contact, in which there is a risk of tilting and tilting of the two legs to each other. In this respect, the handling is further improved with this development.
  • transverse struts can be arranged at the upper ends of the legs, which serve to receive functional elements.
  • the upper ends of the legs may be free.
  • the functional elements may be a Kedernut for receiving a welt of a seat and / or a hole for Take a telescoping support rod act.
  • Other functional elements are conceivable.
  • the joint arrangement according to the invention can thus fulfill a dual function, on the one hand the mobility between the transport configuration and the operating configuration and on the other hand the provision of further useful functions.
  • a functional element arranged in the region of the upper ends of the legs is automatically compressed when the mobility aid is compressed. The handling is thereby further improved.
  • the transverse struts have a convexly shaped surface which, in the operating configuration, drops to the side opposite the respective other transverse strut.
