Der Schlosskasten ist im Allgemeinen im Querschnitt U-förmig ausgebildet. Dabei hat es sich bewährt, wenn die bereits angesprochene Lagerebene des Gesperres von dem Mittelteil des Schlosskastens gebildet wird. Der eine Schenkel des Schlosskastens und eine vom Tragwerk aufgespannte Tragwerkebene sind im Allgemeinen parallel zueinander angeordnet. In diesem Schenkel des Schlosskastens ist im Regelfall auch der obligatorische Einlaufschlitz für den Schließbolzen vorgesehen. Da die Schenkel des U-förmigen Schlosskastens im Wesentlichen senkrecht zur Fahrzeugquerrichtung bzw.
