Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a method for producing a printed product, in particular a leaflet, a printed product produced according to the method and an apparatus for producing such a printed product.
  • leaflets Pharmaceutical products or related products of the consumer and consumer goods industry must often - especially due to legal requirements - be provided with extensive written information, so-called leaflets.
  • the amount of information to be conveyed with these leaflets is becoming increasingly extensive, which leads to a very high demand for information space, in particular due to more recent requirements for minimum font sizes (EU Directive 2001/83 / EC).
  • Such instruction leaflets are usually made on a single- or double-sided printed sheet of paper which is folded horizontally and vertically and then added to the product package (usually a carton) along with the actual product or after the product has been loaded.
  • outsert / insert products which are smallest folded printed products produced from a printed sheet, which are closed by means of a perforated adhesive label and thus have a substantially closed edge all around.
  • this product has the above-explained problem of confusion of the unfolded product.
  • Outsert / Insert also very difficult to put back in the original product packaging.
  • booklets are exemplary US Pat. No. 6,273,411 B1 and US 2004/209754 A1 emerge, in which, as is known, a plurality of compiled sheets by means of sizing od. Like. Connected and cut to size, so that in the finished product, the individual pages are connected buchfalzartig on one edge. This makes it easy to handle the package leaflet, ie, the order of the pages is clearly visible, and the booklet can also be conveniently inserted again in the product packaging.
  • leaflets Particularly in the pharmaceutical field, extremely high quality assurance requirements are placed on leaflets, that is, incorrect or incomplete leaflets must be excluded as far as humanly possible. Assembling a leaflet from multiple signatures in this context has inherent security risks with respect to a product made from a single signature in terms of possible mis-composition (under-blending) of signatures.
  • Additional requirements in the area of pharmaceutical products result from the tendency to attach not only one but at least two informational agents to the products.
  • This may be different patient information for different target groups, e.g. on the one hand for the patient and on the other for the doctor or pharmacist; or it may be, for example, obligatory patient information and further patient information with additional service-oriented instructions or an indication of possibly suitable supplementary products or a device description of an applicator for a medicament.
  • an object of the present invention is to propose a method of the type mentioned or a correspondingly prepared printed matter and a device for its production, with or with the multi-part patient information as safe as possible, compact, simple in terms of production technology and easy to insert can be produced and at the same time can be easily handled by the user handled.
  • the correspondingly processed product has in a so-called long state at least two successive parts which are detachably connected to one another at the at least one perforation, wherein each part is bonded book-like in the separated state by the bonding.
  • the above-described product is made from a single signature, eliminating the potential risks of multi-sign (intermixing) products from the outset.
  • this should not necessarily mean that it is longer in the longitudinal direction than in the transverse direction, although this will be the normal case.
  • a product which has at least two book-like parts which can be separated from one another via the perforation by the user or users.
  • the parts are firmly connected to each other until use and were made together, whereby it is impossible that only individual parts get into the product.
  • the corresponding printed product has a high inherent safety level.
  • the printed product is in the above described, called “long form” state usually not compact enough to be accommodated in the product packaging. Therefore, further steps are preferably carried out by means of which the product can be converted into a more compact and machine-manageable so-called "packaging state".
  • the package thus obtained can then be inserted without interference into a package, mainly thanks to a closed edge (this is the edge opposite the adhesive label), depending on the design of the adhesive label also with this page ahead.
  • the user removes the package of folding box, breaks the - preferably perforated - adhesive label on and unfolds first the Quergefalzten parts (in principle, other Lijnsfalzungen for compaction are conceivable) until he finds the product in the long state. Then the corresponding parts can be separated at the perforation and are then available book or booklet-like.
  • the separation to be performed additionally documents that the product has been used, which may be advantageous in certain scenarios.
  • separating the products it can be understood that a doctor or pharmacist has taken note of the patient information intended for him.
  • the basic method described above is particularly suitable for printed products with rather small booklet page numbers, since the longitudinal folding capacities in step b), in particular when using a winding fold, are limited to typically about 20 pages.
  • two parts of the subsequent product which are superimposed in the course of the process are thus prepared side by side on a printed sheet in the transverse direction and, in a first step, first separately provided with adhesive traces / adhesive areas and perforations.
  • This approach allows efficient utilization of the available production print width of the printing presses used, while still ensuring product safety due to the use of a single signature.
  • step ii) due to this procedure in step ii) only half as many longitudinal folds are required, so that e.g. Wickelfalz compiler can also be used for products with more than 20 pages, otherwise winding folds can typically be used without interference only for products from 12 to 20 pages due to the increasing extent of the wound-folded product.
  • the book-like parts resulting in the context of the invention may each have an equal area, which would result in a central division based on two parts.
  • the at least one transverse fold in step v ') (or step c' in the basic method) preferably takes place approximately in the middle of the product to be folded, so that in the packaging state non-self-puffing product with a closed, automation-friendly edge.
  • step i) takes place in a zigzag folding in step ii) (or step c), preferably alternately on both sides of the printed sheet. In a spiral fold, it is normal for an application of the adhesive traces to one side of the printed sheet to be sufficient.
  • the perforation in step iii) is preferably a microperforation which can be separated easily and without cracks.
  • the perforation step may also be carried out not after the longitudinal folding, but at another point in time of the method, in particular directly at the beginning before or during step i).
  • the trimming in step vi) (or d) is preferably carried out at least on both longitudinal sides (at least two Leksfalzungen) and on a transverse side.
  • the trimming can be carried out as an essentially last method step (after which the attachment of the adhesive label may follow), since in this way straight cutting edges of the finished product are ensured.
  • step v ') may be provided in step v ') as step iv') before the step of further transverse folding or the further transverse folds, followed by the final trimming in step vi).
  • step iii) an auxiliary perforation can be introduced at the location of the later transverse fold, the auxiliary perforation being removed again by the later trimming (preferably in step iv ').
  • the number of detachable book-like parts in the basic method corresponds to the number of adhesions (e.g., two lines of glue in two parts), with perforations in the area between each of two bonds, that is. the number of perforations is preferably one less than the number of bonds.
  • the adhesive traces are preferably applied relatively close to the perforations.
  • adhesive trace - perforation - adhesive trace the two traces of adhesive can also merge into one another and only separated by the perforation become.
  • these two intertwined traces of adhesive should be referred to as "gluing areas”. Two adjacent traces of adhesive are replaced by an adhesive area, so that half as many adhesive areas as adhesive traces are provided.
  • the proximity of the glue tracks to the perforations offers the additional advantage that the paper is less likely to tear due to the glue-induced reinforcement when separating the perforation.
  • the adhesive traces or the adhesive areas and the further adhesive in step iv) may be formed continuously or intermittently and be realized by a variety of adhesives such as glue, hot melt adhesives, multi-component adhesives. It is preferably a spray adhesive which can be applied by means of nozzles and whose open time is selected so that the adhesive remains active until longitudinal folding. Appropriate methods are also known as Klebefalzung or inline sizing basically taken by itself.
  • the described page doubling can also be performed several times, e.g. as a page quadruple.
  • iv) must be repeated accordingly with appropriate adhesive application, whereby correspondingly duplicated perforations and traces of adhesive or areas are provided.
  • step iv) the transverse folding should not be carried out in the center.
  • a printed matter product in particular a multi-part instruction leaflet for a pharmaceutical product, which essentially consists of a single printed sheet, which has a longitudinal side and a transverse side.
  • This printed product has in a long state at least two successive parts that at least a perforation are detachably connected to each other, each part in the separated state by an associated adhesive book-like bound and formed according to the method described above.
  • FIG. 1 A illustrates the folding and processing sequence of a basic process for the production of a printed product, which can be divided into a total of four individual products 16a-d in the finished state in this example. The steps are shown from left to right in steps A through E.
  • step A a part of a double-sided information-printed sheet 10 is shown, which is subjected to a longitudinal fold in zigzag.
  • Alternative folds - such as a spiral fold - can be used.
  • the printing sheet is provided in the longitudinal direction with continuous perforations 12a-c (dotted lines), which were introduced before the illustrated step A by means not shown perforating tools.
  • Adhesive traces 14a-d are already applied in close proximity to the perforations, forming a sort of book spine or book fold as adhesive fold in the later book-like individual products.
  • the adhesive traces 14a-d in FIG. 1 a are shown consistently in the longitudinal direction of the sake of clarity, the adhesive is preferably applied only intermittently in the zigzag folding shown, so that after the folding process in each case only one side of a cooperating adhesive bond is provided with adhesive. In order to achieve bonding of all sides, in the zigzag fold shown, the adhesive traces must also be applied to the back of the printing sheet 10 (not shown), with identical line image and also intermittently.
  • Each later book-like single product 16a-d should have a binding only on one side; therefore, the adhesive traces 14a-d are shown to be partially provided on both sides of the perforations (at perforation 12b), but partially only at one side of the perforations (at the perforations 12a and 12c).
  • n-1 perforations 12a-c and n glue traces 14a-d are generally required for a number n of book-type individual products.
  • FIG. 1 a are the adhesive traces 14a-d shown in a line. It is in an alternative embodiment according to Figure 1c but also conceivable that each two separated by a perforation 12b adhesive traces 14b and 14c by a common adhesive region (in Figure 1c hatched) are formed; In the interests of uniform terminology, such a common adhesive area should also be referred to as two adhesive tracks separated by the perforation. Furthermore, will In principle, the adhesive traces 14a-d are intended to approach very closely to the respective perforations 12a-c, in order to ensure effective print area utilization and optimal bookability of the book-like products.
  • Step A indicated Leksfalzvorgang come the individual traces of adhesive with the opposite sheet in contact and form corresponding bonds.
  • step B of FIG. 1 a the printed matter is already in a long state. In this state (apart from the missing trim), a user may later separate the individual book-like products 16a-d at the perforations. However, the product in the transverse direction is still quite long and is not suitable in this form to save space od in a folding box or the like. To be introduced.
  • the Querfalzitch need not all necessarily be made each half. Rather, individual parts can be folded only partially, whereby a predetermined final product size can be achieved.
  • the ratio of the individual transverse fold lengths X1: Y1, X2: Y2 is not necessarily 50%, but may vary in the range 1-99%.
  • transverse folding can also be varied depending on the requirements between zigzag and spiral folding as well as hybrid forms, cf. the partial side views in FIG. 1b (each without representation of the insides). It is only advantageous in the case of the last transverse folding operation in step E if the folding occurs in such a way that the outer edges of the product substantially align with one another, ie the fold line 20c is preferably located in the middle of the product, with respect to FIG previous folding step.
  • the product Before applying this adhesive label 18, the product is still on three sides, i. in the drawing right, left (because there are at least two Leksfalzitch) and below (which, however, is not mandatory) cropped. This step is not shown in detail. As a result, the folds formed in the longitudinal fold are cut away and the superimposed individual pages are then released in the longitudinal direction, so that they are connected to each other only in the transverse direction by the bonds or the adhesive label.
  • FIGS. 2a-d It is shown that the distribution of the printed product into individual products 16a-d can take place differently:
  • FIG. 2a Two products are shown in 50:50 division, which may be, for example, a patient and a doctor / pharmacist information.
  • FIG. 2b are two products 16a, b similar to in FIG. 2a but illustrated in a 75:25 area ratio.
  • the transverse fold line is not in the region of a perforation 12a in this case.
  • the first adhesive trace 14a is not in the immediate vicinity of the perforation 12a.
  • FIG. 3a the folding and processing sequence of the method according to the invention is illustrated with "page doubling" for the production of a printed product, wherein elements comparable to the basic method are identified by reference numbers increased by 40.
  • two individual products 46a and 46b can be separated from each other in the finished state, wherein four side sheet areas are used as the basis for the page doubling.
  • steps A 'to G' The steps are shown from left to right in steps A 'to G'.
  • step A ' a part of a double-sided information-printed signature 40 is shown, which is subjected to a longitudinal fold in zigzag folding.
  • the printing sheet is provided in the longitudinal direction with continuous perforations 42a-c (dotted lines), which were introduced before the illustrated step A 'by means not shown perforating tools.
  • the perforations can also be introduced into the already longitudinally folded product in a step B 'or later with a suitable tool.
  • the perforations 42a and 42c serve (at a later stage one above the other) to separate the individual products.
  • the perforation 42b represents an auxiliary perforation which is intended to facilitate the later transverse folding for superimposing the two parts (step C ' ⁇ D') and to specify the fold.
  • This auxiliary perforation 42b is basically dispensable.
  • the adhesive traces 44a-d are formed continuously for the winding fold to be used. In the illustrated zigzag folding these are preferably applied only intermittently, so that after the folding process only one side of a cooperating adhesive bond is provided with adhesive, also the adhesive traces are also applied to the back of the sheet 40 in Zickzackfalzung, with an identical line image and also intermittently.
  • FIG. 3a the adhesive traces 44a-d are shown in a line. It is in an alternative embodiment (analog FIG. 1c) but also conceivable that each two separated by a perforation traces of adhesive are replaced by a common adhesive area.
  • the glue traces 44a-d are intended to approach very close to the respective perforations 42a, c in order to ensure effective print area utilization and optimal bookability of the book-like products.
