Definitions
- Radio planning is not only needed at the beginning, if the network is to be built, but also if it is to be expanded and expanded. Enlargement can mean providing additional geographic areas or increasing the capacity within already served areas so that gaps in accessibility can be reduced and / or more mobile customers can communicate at the same time.
- Radio propagation models underlying radio planning, which are dependent on the topology (e.g., mountains and valleys) and the morphology (e.g., forest and habitat types) of the radio propagation area.
- the setpoint and actual values of the radio coverage may well deviate - due to method-related inaccuracies of the corresponding databases and due to simplifications in the
- the verification is carried out by means of so-called drive tests.
- a vehicle is equipped with measuring devices, which runs off certain routes and measures the field strength and the respective GPS position. The data will be with the
- Radio planning compared.
- a call generator can also be added to the equipment which constantly sets up calls to an automatic answering device or data connections to a response device and evaluates the success of the attempt and possibly the quality of the connection or transmission.
- the possibly necessary change of radio parameters (settings) at the base stations, in case of necessary corrections, are among the more cost-effective measures. Having too many base stations in the field is much more serious. This also applies to base stations on less effective or unnecessarily expensive ones
- the network infrastructure is the main part of the mobile service. Of the
- Mobile service is what mobile subscribers see and what they ultimately pay for. Where the customer most misses the mobile service need not necessarily be where the power supply has a gap. Whether the radio network is satisfied with the planned field strengths or data transmission speeds or the offered speech qualities can only be approximated from laboratory tests under more or less artificially created conditions.
- the usefulness of the apps is unfortunately clouded by a few malicious apps that take over the control of the microphone and / or the camera of the phone and spy on the environment, or secretly send premium SMS at the expense of the unsuspecting mobile customer, or transfer personal data unnoticed by the customer on dubious server or make public on the Internet. While these apps are rare, they keep customers from using apps at all, or they are reluctant to download and install such apps. Overall, this affects the perception of the quality of service of the mobile, although the mobile operator typically has nothing to do with the apps.
- the inventive method described herein is in the fields of radio planning and quality improvement in mobile networks, mobile voice and data services, and telecommunications in general.
- the recorded data includes the GPS position as well
- MNO Mobile network operators
- MNO mobile network operators
- measured values and events are geographically assigned to finer rasters than the cell size. This allows e.g. the identification of interferences, which can also occur in small areas of a cell. In particular, this shows that it is always measured where the customer is. More precisely: right there and only where the customer is - these are the only relevant geographic areas. Thus, reports of deficits of the mobile service are implicit with the
- the evaluation of the data is preferably carried out by the SA on the server after the TA has uploaded the data (also data sets or multiplets) to the SA.
- the evaluation is relocated as far as possible to the server, at least as long as and to the extent that thereby the battery and processing resources can be spared on the terminal. After all, the customer should not be in the
- the mobile customer is given an immediate added value with the method presented here, which visibly improves the quality of the mobile service to the customer.
- the customer is warned of malicious apps that can spy on him or even cause monetary damage.
- This novel service will make it easier for the customer to use useful apps, especially the decision to download and install.
- the vast majority of apps are useful after all. The more frequent, because carefree use of the
- the TA screens all applications (apps) on the device in question and enters them in a list, including their authorizations (control via microphone or camera, access to personal data, generation of calls or sending SMS, Internet access, etc.). Furthermore, the peer addresses for external communication are continuously determined for each application and entered in this list. The TA then sends the list to the SA so that it analyzes in particular the peer addresses whether they lead to known suspicious servers.
- the result is returned to the TA for their apps.
- the customer hereby receives information about their criticality for each individual app, e.g. in the form of a color code. When clicking on a single app in this list, the customer will be given more details why, e.g. An app is classified as particularly critical. In addition to further details on all authorizations, the customer also receives an instruction for the critical apps, which can be used, for example.
- the customer is also supported by the TA in the deinstallation, which is particularly valued by less experienced customers. The decision to follow the action recommendation, the customer must meet, he himself is not patronized by the TA.
- the present inventive method serves very different areas within an MNO organization:
- the present method contains so-called analytic filters, which give answers specific to the particular question in the "language" of the respective department. Two analytic filters are exemplified in claims 4-7.
- the customer service would recommend the customer down the TA down (the how and the from-where the customer of the customer service, for example by SMS be notified if the customer should not have the TA on his device). This can often be used to avoid more complex return exchanges.
- the part of a cell visited / used by customers can be determined. For example, if it results in using only the edge of a particular cell, it can be deduced
- Claim 8 lays the foundation for another analytic filter for the management of wholesale products.
- the sales department can use another analytic filter (not detailed here) to extract data from
- Femto cells are mobile base stations with a very small coverage area (eg an apartment, an office, or a detached house). They are typically over the private broadband connection (eg DSL) of the respective user connected. However, the femto cells use the frequencies of a particular mobile operator and thus contribute to the power supply. A femtocell may be specifically configured for the user's terminal providing the broadband connection (and possibly even paid for) - ie other customers of the network operator can not use that cell in this case. However, the field may also penetrate into areas outside the intended coverage area (eg, the street or walkway in front of the office).
- DSL private broadband connection
- the SA allows the definition of measurement campaigns via a graphical user interface. This can be used to define the geographic area to be measured.
- the types of devices to be included in the measurement campaign and also the network types (GSM, UMTS, HSDPA, etc.) whose quality parameters are to be measured can be specified.
- Some air-interface protocol elements are captured using traditional drive-test equipment and, otherwise processed, yield results that are achieved using this novel method through other parameters.
- the method outlined here utilizes the power of statistics and the fact that the data collected here are relevant to the geographic spots that are visited by customers - that is, coincident with geographic customer requirements. This enables at least macroscopic phenomena to be detected, e.g. Disconnections with local clusters in problem areas of the network.
- Allow diagnosis it can be determined in which very limited space, for example. must be measured in more detail with classic drive test equipment. Only on the basis of the results of this process will drive-test equipment be used very efficiently in the future.
