Definitions
- the present invention relates to novel lubricating compositions intended in particular to be used in the field of cold processing of sheet metals.
- lubricating compositions for cold-sheet metal work are already known.
- the main role of such lubricating compositions is to reduce the wear of the mechanical parts in friction, to create a barrier against sealing the external elements (dust, water, solvents, heat ...), and to reduce the heat and energy losses resulting from friction.
- the evanescent lubricants evaporable for solving the problems of oxidation of metals and requiring no degreasing operation, are commonly used.
- Such evanescent lubricants are described in the patent document FR 2 168 925 wherein the lubricants comprise a lipoid complex of animal origin, a chlorinated paraffinic hydrocarbon and a powdered additive consisting of a boron derivative.
- these products that solve both the problem of metal oxidation and degreasing no longer meet the increasingly stringent legal or normative requirements for the environment and health.
- the "linear or branched alkyl group comprising 4 to 6 carbon atoms” is a linear, branched, saturated carbon group comprising 4 to 6 carbon atoms.
- R 1 may be selected from the group consisting of pentyl, 2-methylbutyl and 3-methylbutyl.
- R 1 represents a 3-methylbutyl group. That is, the compound of formula (I) is 3-methylbutyl dodecanoate ("amyl laurate”: CAS No. 6309-51-9, EINECS No. 228-626-1).
- linear or branched alkyl group comprising 1 to 20 carbon atoms within the meaning of the present invention means a linear, branched or cyclic, saturated carbon group comprising 1 to 20 carbon atoms.
- R 2 and R 3 are identical.
- R 2 and R 3 each represent a linear, branched or cyclic, saturated carbon group comprising from 5 to 12 carbon atoms, and better still from 8 to 10 atoms.
- R 2 and R 3 are selected from the group consisting of hexyl, heptyl, octyl, nonyl, decyl and their branched isomers. Among these groups, 2-ethylhexyl, octyl and decyl groups are particularly preferred.
- the composition may comprise a mixture of several variants of compounds of formula (II).
- the lubricating composition according to the invention comprises a mixture of two or three different compounds of formula (II). This mixture can be obtained according to a method known to those skilled in the art.
- said mixture consists of a compound of formula (II) in which R 2 and R 3 each represent an alkyl group comprising 8 carbon atoms, and a compound of formula (II) in which R 2 and R 3 each represents an alkyl group comprising 10 carbon atoms.
- the composition comprises a mixture of dioctyl succinate (CAS No. 14491-66-8) and didecyl succinate (CAS No. 10595-82-1).
- the compounds of formula (II) are succinate diester solvents.
- Such solvents can be obtained by reaction between succinic acid and desired chain length alcohols.
- the succinic acid can be synthesized according to a known biochemical process, for example by fermentation of glucose included in corn and wheat.
- Said succinate diester solvents preferably comprise at least 99% pure material. They may contain other minor components such as alcohols, monoesters, and acids.
- the composition comprises between 60 and 70%, preferably between 62% and 67% by weight of the compound of formula (I), relative to the final composition.
- the lubricating composition according to the invention comprises between 30 and 40%, preferably between 33 and 38% by weight, relative to the final composition, of at least one compound of formula (II).
- the lubricating composition consists solely of a compound of formula (I) and at least one compound of formula (II).
- composition according to the invention is advantageously intended to be used as a lubricant. It is compatible with all materials, such as metals, plastics, elastomers and rubber. However, it is particularly advantageous to use it for sliding tools on the metal for the work of cold deformation of all sheet metals.
- said mixture of compounds of formula (II) comprises 40-50% by weight of dioctyl succinate and 60-50% of didecyl succinate, relative to the total weight of said mixture.
- the mixture of compounds of formula (II) comprises between 43-46% by weight of dioctyl succinate and between 57-54% by weight of didecyl succinate.
- a feature of the invention lies in the substitution of isoparaffinic solvents and other petrochemical additives by solvents from renewable material.
- the present invention also relates to a use of said composition as a lubricant.
- said composition is particularly suitable for shear cutting, and / or cold deformation of sheet metals.
- sheet metals metal sheets having a thickness equal to or less than 10 mm, and equal to or less than L / 10 (mm) in which L is a length of the sheet.
- These metal sheets may be, for example, mild steel, aluminum or its alloys, iron, copper, and stainless steel. The composition shows improved efficiency when the sheet is mild steel.
- cutting and / or deformation process any type of work consists of cutting and / or deformation of metals, such as cutting processes, stamping, punching and punching.
- the lubricant composition according to the invention shows an excellent adaptation during the cold process.

Abstract
Description
- fournir une tôle plane métallique;
- fournir la composition lubrifiante selon l'invention ;
- Elle ne comporte aucun composé organique volatil (C.O.V) ;
- Elle est biodégradable (test OECD 301 B et OECD 302 C);
- Elle ne présente aucun risque d'explosivité. Par conséquent, il n'y a aucune obligation de classement de la zone d'utilisation en zone ATEX (Décret 2002/680) ;
- Elle ne nécessite aucune déclaration d'emploi auprès des autorités administratives ;
- Elle ne dégage aucune odeur ;
