Abstract
Lubricants for cold-working of metals comprise (a) a solid animal wax, (b) a liquid animal wax, (c) a chlorinated paraffin and (d) a powdered boron cpd., prefer, crystalline H3BO3 (56.3% B2O3, 43.7% H2O) with an s.g. of ca. 1.4 at 20 degrees C., an apparent density of ca. 0.6, and the following particle size distribution: >=90% passing 200 mesh, 96% passing 100 mesh and 100% passing 65 mesh. The lubricants pref. contain 30-40 wt.% (a), 10-16 wt.% (b), 17-21 wt.% (c) and 20-30 wt.% (d).
