Definitions

  • plugs for producing an electrical connector essentially comprises a plug housing with at least one contact element receiving chamber, also called contact chamber, wherein each contact element receiving chamber can be equipped with an electrical contact element.
  • each contact element receiving chamber can be equipped with an electrical contact element.
  • the electrical contact elements engage in the contact element receiving chambers. This is often done by a protruding from the electrical contact element latching lance, which is compressed upon insertion of the electrical contact element in the contact element receiving chamber and, when the electrical contact element has reached a predetermined position within the contact element receiving chamber, pops up to engage with an undercut of the contact element receiving chamber.
  • the locking lance has a relatively narrow shape, which is issued from the electrical contact element.
  • an electrical contact element for receiving in a contact element receiving chamber is known.
  • a region of the electrical contact element has a latching means, which enables a latching of the electrical contact element within the contact element receiving chamber.
  • the respective locking means is compressed, while the electrical contact element is inserted into the contact element receiving chamber.
  • the locking lance loading forces acting counter to the insertion of the electrical contact element in the contact element receiving chamber on the locking lance are characterized limited that either the locking lance kinks or whose relatively sharp-edged end cuts through the undercut and thus leads to damage of the connector housing.
  • the electrical contact element has the features of independent claim 1, which discloses two alternatives.
  • An electrical contact element for a single-pole or multi-pole plug housing having at least one contact element receiving chamber made of electrically insulating material for receiving the at least one electrical contact element is provided.
  • the electrical contact element has a fastening section for fastening an electrical line.
  • the electrical contact element has a contact section for producing an electrically conductive connection with a corresponding mating contact element.
  • the electrical contact element has at least one latching lance, wherein the latching lance is reversibly displaceable from a first position to a second position. The locking lance is in the first position obliquely outwards.
  • the latching lance is latched in the first position with the contact element receiving chamber when the contact element is arranged in the contact element receiving chamber in a predetermined position.
  • the locking lance also has a first locking element.
  • the electrical contact element has a second locking element corresponding to the first locking element. In the first position are the first and the second locking element connected to one another due to a force acting on the locking lance against an extension direction of the electrical contact element from the contact element receiving chamber force.
  • the first locking element has a first portion, wherein the first portion extends substantially transversely to a direction of extension of the electrical contact element from the contact element receiving chamber.
  • connection of the first and the second locking element under load serves to ensure that the pull-out forces, which are usually applied to the locking lance in a train on the electrical line, is not absorbed solely by the fixed connection of the locking lance with the electrical contact element, such as this happens in the prior art, but also by the first and the second locking element.
  • the force acting on the locking lance against the extension direction of the electrical contact element force on the one part on the fixed connection of the locking lance with the electrical contact element and on the two interconnected locking elements.
  • the proposed here electrical contact element can absorb a higher force until the locking lance fails.
  • the two locking elements in this position can be engaged with each other, but spaced from each other.
  • the locking lance is designed so resilient that a displacement of the locking lance from the first position to the second position takes place against a spring force. Due to the spring force, the locking lance can be moved independently from the second position to the first position.
  • tab elements engage in corresponding formations or recesses.
  • a tab element may be formed on the contact element and the formation or recess on the locking lance.
  • the tab element may also be formed on the latching lance and corresponding to the tab member molding or recess on the contact element.
  • the first and the second locking element in the second position are non-connectable to each other.
  • Such a configuration can offer the advantage that, in particular when the electrical contact element is integrally formed, in the manufacturing process of the electrical contact element, the first locking element on the electrical contact element and the second locking element on the locking lance can be formed without already at this time the first and the second locking element would have to cooperate. If now the locking lance is displaced into the second position, the first and the second locking element can find each other, respectively in the second position cooperate such that at a displacement of the locking lance in the first position with simultaneous loading of the locking lance against the extension direction of the electrical contact element, the first and the second locking element are connected to each other.
  • the functionality of finding each other in the second position can be achieved by utilizing suspension properties of the material used to make the first and second locking elements. In the second position, the first and second locking elements can be disengaged.
  • the locking lance has an outwardly pointing inclined element with a first end and a second end opposite the first end.
  • the second end is fixedly connected to the electrical contact element.
  • the first locking element is firmly connected.
  • the first end is angled such that the oblique element and the first locking element enclose an angle, wherein the contact element receiving chamber facing the first end is rounded.
  • the rounding of the first end can be generated for example by a bending operation. Furthermore, perpendicular to the bend extending edges of the first end may be deburred or rounded. Furthermore, if the locking lance is made of sheet metal in conjunction with a stamping and bending process, by a corresponding selection of the punching direction and the cutting punch used, the first end are formed such that a rounding of the first end after the manufacturing process of the locking lance can be omitted.
  • the first locking element has a first section and a second section fixedly connected to the first section.
  • the first section extends substantially transversely to the extension direction of the electrical contact element from the contact element receiving chamber.
  • the second section is designed essentially as a hook element.
  • the second locking element is designed as a tab element. In the first position, the first locking element and the second locking element cooperate in such a way that the tab element and the hook element are positively connected.
  • Essentially designed as a hook element is to be understood in such a way that the hook element can also be channel-shaped.
  • the hook element also does not necessarily have to be round on its inside.
  • Substantially transversely to an extension direction means that the first locking element is formed in the first position within the manufacturing tolerances transversely to the extension direction.
  • the hook element extends in the extension direction.
  • the hook element may also extend counter to the extension direction in order to form a positive connection between the tab element and the hook element.
  • the first locking element of the electrical contact element extends substantially transversely to the extension direction of the contact element from the contact element receiving opening.
  • the first locking element has an opening.
  • the second locking element of the electrical contact element has an angle element with a first and a second leg, wherein the first leg extends through the opening and the second leg extends substantially parallel to the first locking element. In the first position, the first locking element and the second locking element cooperate in such a way that the second leg and the second locking element are positively connected.
  • the electrical contact element has a contact body with an inner space bounded by a contact body inner wall and a contact body outer wall opposite the contact body inner wall.
  • the locking lance extends from the contact body outer wall to the outside.
  • the first locking element extends into the interior, wherein in the first position, the first locking element is positively connected to the second locking element within the interior.
  • the locking lance may be formed with the first locking element of a first portion of a first side wall of the example box-shaped contact body.
  • the second locking element may be formed, for example, from a second portion of a second side wall adjacent to the first side wall, or from a third portion of a third side wall opposite the first side wall.
  • the first locking element in the second position, does not extend through the interior.
  • the contact element receiving chambers of the plug housing can be formed closer to the contact body outside of the box-shaped contact body. In this way, a better centering of the electrical contact element within the plug housing can be obtained. This can facilitate a connection of the assembled with the electrical contact elements plug housing to a equipped with electrical mating contact elements mating connector housing. Furthermore, in the second position, the oblique element of the latching lance can be substantially flush with the outer wall of the contact body.
  • the electrical contact element with the second locking element and the locking lance with the first locking element are made in one piece.
  • the one-piece design of the electrical contact element and the locking lance a particularly cost-saving production of the electrical contact element is possible, since a joining operation of a possibly separately shaped locking lance with the electrical contact element deleted. Since the electrical contact element is usually made entirely of a metal with suspension properties, such as Tombak or cold rolled brass sheet, it can be avoided that fatigue or relaxation phenomena, as they are known in plastic parts occur.
  • the electrical contact element with the second locking element together with the locking lance with the first locking element is a stamped and bent part.
  • the shape of the electrical contact element as a stamped and bent part allows to produce the electrical contact elements extremely inexpensive.
  • a settlement of the electrical Contact element are made in a single operation from the corresponding metal and in a subsequent bending process, the sheet metal part are bent, that the electrical contact element is formed in the embodiment shown here.

In particular, it is possible to completely separate the first locking element 22 and the second locking element 24 during the production process of the electrical contact element 2. In this way, the production of the first locking element 22 takes place outside of the inner space 13.
  • the locking lance 14 is displaced along the displacement direction V. This slides in FIG. 1 the hook member 30 along the tab member 32 until the locking lance 14 has reached its second position. In the second position, the hook element 30 is displaced in the extension direction A such that when the locking lance 14 assumes its first position, the first locking element 22 and the second locking element 24 are positively connected to each other by spring properties of the selected material.
  • FIG. 1 the locking lance 14 is displaced along the displacement direction V.
