Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the field of watchmaking, more particularly to a display module for a timepiece.
  • demand Swiss Publication No. 01949/07 discloses a display device of a timepiece, having a plurality of elongate prisms. Each prism can be actuated to pivot in rotation about its longitudinal axis in order to be able to orient one of its lateral faces in a display plane so that the visualization of all the displayed lateral faces renders legal time information.
  • the display device has, near its periphery, a plurality of display modules, each display module having a plurality of elongated prisms arranged side-by-side lengthwise to form a display surface.
  • Each side face of each prism of each module has an adequate visual appearance so as to be able to reconstruct the information relating to the legal time on the display surface of one of the display modules when the prisms of this module are oriented in the display plan side by side.
  • the display device further comprises a rotary member arranged coaxially at the center of the movement, this rotary member being able to highlight, by a rotation about its axis, one of the display modules corresponding to the time of the legal time.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide another original display device for the indication including hours.
  • this object is achieved by means of a display module of a timepiece intended to display a sequence of alphanumeric characters and / or images at different times defined by claim 1 of the patent.
  • the display module is intended to display successively, on the central display unit, the numbers 1 to 12 corresponding to the indication of hours.
  • the module comprises four mobiles each having six fins, which has on both of their faces a portion of one of the numbers from 1 to 12.
  • each of the fins 1 of the display module is pivotable about an axis of rotation so that one or other of its faces can be visible.
  • Each fin 1 has two parallel lateral sides relative to each other and symmetrical with respect to the axis of rotation of the fin.
  • Each lateral side of the fin is extended by an inclined side to form a triangular portion whose apex angle is 90 ° and coincides with the axis of rotation of the fin.
  • each hour four fins in the center of the display module where each inclined side of each fin is juxtaposed to one of the inclined sides of two other fins to form the central display unit 2.
  • the display module comprises a total of 24 fins, which each comprise on each of their faces a fraction of one of the numbers 1 to 12 (not shown).
  • the display module comprises a total of 24 fins, which each comprise on each of their faces a fraction of one of the numbers 1 to 12 (not shown).
  • the module comprises a platform 3 ( Figure 3 ) provided with four receptacles 4 arranged at 90 ° relative to each other, and intended to each receive a mobile 5 ( Figure 4 ).
  • each mobile unit 5 comprises a first and a second satellite 6a, 6b coaxial and in engagement with a first and a second sun gear 7a, 7b respectively ( Figure 3 ) on which the platform 3 is pivotally mounted.
  • the latter has teeth on its entire circumference in order to be rotated 90 ° once per hour by a training device which will be described later.
  • the gear ratios are determined so that the first and second satellites 6a, 6b rotate 60 ° and 120 ° respectively every hour during the 90 ° rotation of the platform 3.
  • each mobile unit 5 comprises a frame 9 which is fixed on the second satellite 6b and on which is disposed an epicyclic gear train.
  • the latter consists of a sun gear 10 which is arranged in the center of the frame 9 and which is secured to a shaft 11, which is kinematically connected to the first satellite 6a so that the planetary gear 10 rotates the 60 ° during the time change.
  • the sun gear 10 is engaged with three references 12 which each mesh with a satellite 13 so that each satellite rotates 180 ° relative to the frame 9 during the change of time when the platform 3 is driven 90 °.
  • a fin support 14 in the form of a rod is mounted on each satellite 13 along the axis of rotation thereof and has at its upper end an orifice 15 inside which an axis 16 is adjusted ( Figure 4 ), which has at its two ends a fin 1.
  • the four mobiles move orbital 90 ° when the platform 3 is actuated in rotation of 90 ° for a period determined by the drive device of the display module which is preferably between five and ten seconds.
  • the frame 9 rotates 120 ° on itself while the three supports 14 of fins each perform a rotation of 180 ° relative to the frame 9.
  • One of the major difficulties that the invention proposes to solve lies in the movement that must be printed at each fin 1 so that they rotate along their axis 16 so that the first fraction of a digit arranged on the one of their faces is visible for one hour in the center of the display module, and the second fraction of another digit arranged on the other of their faces is visible for one hour when the fin is repositioned in the center of the module six hours later.
  • This allows successive display of the numbers 1 to 12 on the central display unit 2 while avoiding any collision between the fins during the time change.
  • a cylinder 17 is pivotally mounted around each support 14 of fins.
  • One of the ends of this cylinder 17 is integral with an elliptical gear 18, which is engaged with a mobile 19 having a particular toothing on all of its periphery.
  • the other end of the cylinder 17 comprises a first conical gear 20, which is arranged to drive a second conical gear 21 mounted on the axis 16 of the fin support 14.
  • the geometry of the mobile 19 and the elliptical gears 18 is determined so as to induce a variation of the gear ratio so that, each hour, each fin rotates about its axis of rotation by two turns, respectively three alternately rotating turns. to display successively the numbers 1 to 12. More particularly, the circumference of the mobile 19 is due to a mathematical relationship to have the best possible rotation.
  • the elliptical gears 18 are arranged at 120 ° relative to each other, so that each gear 18 meshes with one of the three straight segments of the mobile 19 during a change of time and then with one of the curved segments. said mobile 19 during the next time change (incrementing a unit of hours).
  • each support 14 rotates 144 ° respectively 216 ° about its axis.
  • the gear ratios between the two bevel gears 20, 21 are determined in such a way that the fins of each support 14 rotate around their axis of rotation during the time change, and then one and a half turns during the next time change. Since each fin is repositioned in the center of the display module every six hours, it will therefore have performed during this lapse of time 7.5 turns around the axis 16. This allows to orient each fin so that both sides are visible at the center of the module for one hour, at an interval of six hours.
  • the profile of the teeth of the mobile 19 and the elliptical gears 18 is obtained by means of software of the Pro / ENGINEER TM type whose computing capacity today makes it possible to conceive virtually gears composed of "wheels” with rather extreme shapes and shapes. analyze different parameters such as angular play and performance on the passage of a tooth for a given shape. It is now possible to manufacture these "wheels” thanks to a deep photolithography process.
  • the frame 9 of each mobile 5 performs a complete turn on itself in the space of three increments of the indication of the hours when the platform 3 makes three-quarters of turns.
  • the support 14 performs turn and half and allows to position the center of the module and the other fins of each support for one hour and three hours apart.
  • the axis 16 of rotation of the fins performs respectively 7.5 and 15 revolutions during six respectively twelve increments of the hours so that the first fraction of a number arranged on one of the faces of each fin is visible for one hour at center of the display module, and that the second fraction of another digit arranged on the other of its faces is visible for one hour when the fin is repositioned in the center of the display module six hours later.
  • a trigger mechanism is arranged to drive in rotation, each hour, the platform 3 of 90 °.
  • the mechanism of Figure 6 has a barrel 30 whose shaft is connected to the floor 31 which allows to store in the mainspring for one hour, the energy required to operate the display module.
  • the drum of the barrel is intended to be engaged with the platform 3 which has a set of teeth on its circumference ( Figures 1 to 3 ).
  • the mechanism further comprises a trigger wheel 32 which is kinematically connected to the barrel 30 by a ratio of one through a mobile 33 so that the trigger wheel 32 also rotates per hour.
  • a cam 34 is fixed on the trigger wheel 32 while a spiral 35 is driven on the road.
  • a release lever 36 is arranged to be in permanent contact with the spiral 35 and comprises an edge 37 arranged to abut against a radial flank of the cam 34.
  • the rotation of the spiral 35 makes it possible to tilt the lever 36 progressively around its pivot axis so that the edge 37 moves along the radial flank of the cam 34 for one hour until it is completely disengaged from said cam 34. At this moment, the latter is no longer blocked by the lever 36 thus releasing the barrel of the barrel 30.
  • the rotation of the latter causes the trigger wheel 32 which performs a revolution until the edge 37 of the lever of the lever 36 comes into abutment against the radial flange of the cam 34.
  • the ratio between the trigger wheel 32 and the barrel 30 being one, it also rotates 360 ° each hour to drive the platform 3 by 90 °.
  • a first finger 38 is fixed on the axis of the trigger wheel 32 and is arranged to actuate a lever 39 which is in the path of a second finger 40 ( Figure 7 ), which is pivotally connected to the roadway 31.
  • the purpose of this mechanism is to reduce the setting time of the watchmaker.
  • the release lever 36 can thus be arranged in such a way that the stop 37 is found in advance on the "high point” of the triggering cam 32 with respect to the point of contact of the lever 36 on the "high point” of the When the edge 37 of the lever 36 is disengaged once an hour from the cam 34, the trigger wheel 32 is rotated in unison with the first finger 38 which hits the lever 39.
  • an inertial speed regulator 42 is connected to the trigger wheel 32 by means of an intermediate wheel 41 ( Figure 8 ) so that the drum of the barrel 30 rotates 360 ° within a period of preferably between six and eight seconds.
  • the invention is not limited to the preferred embodiment described above but that it encompasses, on the contrary, all variants of execution.
  • the fins may each include a portion of an image so as to reconstruct different images at different times.
