Abstract

La présente invention concerne un compresseur (10) et un procédé selon lequel le compresseur (10) servant à la compression isotherme de gaz techniques comprend un cylindre de compression (12) dans lequel un gaz technique présentant des impuretés peut être introduit et un liquide déplaceur (16) qui peut être introduit par une pompe de compression (26) dans le cylindre de compression (12), le liquide déplaceur (16) présentant pour au moins une impureté du gaz technique une solubilité plus élevée que pour un composant principal du gaz technique. Selon l'invention, ledit compresseur comporte une chambre de détente (32) pour la désorption de l'impureté d'au moins une partie du liquide déplaceur (16), une pompe de purge (36) destinée à évacuer les impuretés passées dans la phase gazeuse (24) étant reliée à la chambre de détente (32). Les impuretés absorbées par le liquide déplaceur (16) peuvent de nouveau être séparées dans une atmosphère contrôlée par la chambre de détente (32) destinée au compresseur (10) en plus du cylindre de compression (12) et séparée du cylindre de compression (12) de sorte qu'une altération du liquide déplaceur (16) par une contamination progressive avec des impuretés peut être évitée ou au moins nettement réduite. Le compresseur (10) et le procédé sont de ce fait insensibles aux impuretés des gaz techniques à compresser.
