Description

The present invention relates to a blank made of cardboard sheet material for producing at least one cross for dividing a container-container into several compartments, the blank comprising a plurality of articulated flaps which, by folding, are capable of forming part of compartments.

It also relates to a method and a machine for producing such braces as well as braces obtained.

It finds a particularly important, although not exclusive, application in the field of modular packaging of bottles thus isolated by such braces.

It is also applicable to all types of products whether they are round, square or in bags. By modular means the fact of being able, with the same type of blank, to provide groupings of products in a modular and multiple way. Thus, with the same flanks contiguous and multiplied by two, three, four, five, it is possible to group three, six, twelve, fifteen bottles, etc.

Braces consisting of walls crossed in two orthogonal directions are already known. These braces are generally made from several cardboard blanks provided with slots and assembled to form the walls of the braces.

However, they have disadvantages. Indeed, it is necessary to provide at least two different types of blanks, one for the longitudinal walls and another for the transverse walls, which complicates manufacture and assembly. It is then necessary to assemble the blanks together, which has disadvantages of cost and installation time.

We also know ( EP 0 332 538 ) blanks in one piece.

If such blanks make it possible to avoid certain disadvantages of the braces in several parts, thanks in particular to a system of bellows, these are source of overthickness and dimensional instability of the braces, because of their elasticity.

There is also known a blank of a single piece made of sheet material which comprises two sets of separable hinged flaps. Each set is capable of forming a portion of the compartments of the braces and an intermediate panel, connected to the two sets of flaps which, after separation, allows to form the braces.

Such a blank, however, has mounting difficulties and is again, here again, quite complex to implement.

All these blanks are, from the outset, structurally designed and sized for a single number of products to be packaged. In other words, they are not scalable.

We also know ( FR 2 806 063 ; FR 2,618,312 ; FR 2 869 294 ; GB 2,259,691 ; FR 2,766,792 ) cardboard braces for bottle cases. All these braces are also intended for a number determined bottles, previously established and are complicated nesting assembly.

The present invention aims to provide a blank, a method, a machine and a cross respond better than those previously known to the requirements of practice, particularly in that it will allow a transport without damage in a cardboard box corrugated containers including glass, and this modular way. With the same blank according to the invention, it becomes possible to provide modular protection of groups of products in variable numbers, from two to forty-eight products for example.

In other words, for a given blank format, of determined height and geometry section, whether the products are of round or rectangular section, it is possible to insert one or more basic modules of the same type, possibly supplemented by a vertical separating surface, according to the number of products to be grouped in the corresponding box selected.

The invention thus makes it possible, for a given product format, to produce a very large number of different grouping combinations, by limiting the numbers of cardboard blank references required.

For example, and depending on the selected basic module corresponding to two bottles, three bottles, four bottles, five bottles or six bottles, it becomes possible to predict the count in multiples of these numbers, respectively creating up to eight compartments or cavities , fifteen cavities, twenty cavities, twenty five cavities, thirty cavities, etc.

Thanks to this concept of basic modules, which will then be reused next to each other, parallel or after reversal, with or without separator plate, the possibilities of cross-check crates become very numerous for an optimized cost, especially given of this standardization.

In the remainder of the description, the same reference numbers will be used to designate the same elements or similar elements.

La figure 1 montre un flan 1 en matière en feuille de carton, par exemple en carton ondulé de 3 mm d'épaisseur, pour la réalisation du croisillon 2 de la figure 2.The figure 1 shows a blank 1 made of cardboard sheet material, for example made of 3 mm corrugated cardboard thickness, for the realization of the spider 2 of the figure 2 .

The blank 1 comprises a first square flap 3, suitable for forming the bottom of the spider, connected on one side by a first fold line 4 to a second substantially rectangular flap 5 capable of forming an intermediate wall between two compartments 6.

Le deuxième volet 5 comprend un premier ergot 7 de verrouillage situé à l'extrémité extérieure de son côté 9 adjacent à la première ligne de pliage 4.The second flap 5 comprises a first locking pin 7 located at the outer end of its side 9 adjacent to the first fold line 4.

The blank 1 further comprises a third flap 10 connected in first flap by a second folding line 11 adjacent and perpendicular to the first, and located on the side corresponding to the lug. The third flap 10 is substantially rectangular and is provided with a first tongue 12 perforated by an oblong orifice 13, made in a rectangular recess 14 made in the center of the outer edge of the third flap, opposite to the first flap.

The tongue 12 is connected to the remainder of the third flap 10 in the lower part of the recess 14 by a fold line 15 on which the orifice 13 is partly astride.

L'ergot 7 est quant à lui réalisé sur le côté 9 du deuxième volet 5 situé du côté du troisième volet 10, et constitue l'un des angles d'un évidement 16, par exemple sensiblement carré, formé dans le coin dudit deuxième volet 5.The lug 7 is made on the side 9 of the second flap 5 located on the side of the third flap 10, and constitutes one of the corners of a recess 16, for example substantially square, formed in the corner of said second flap 5.

This recess will allow the recessing of the tongue or, more accurately, its end 17, which is also jammed at its upper periphery in a small notch 18, formed at the angle of the recess 16 adjacent to the stub 7.

Enfin le troisième volet 10 présente une dimension longitudinale ou longueur hors tout l, supérieure à la somme des longueurs l 1 et l 2 des premier et deuxième volets, par exemple d'un dixième de la longueur l.Finally, the third flap 10 has a longitudinal dimension or overall length l greater than the sum of the lengths l 1 and l 2 of the first and second flaps, for example one tenth of the length l .

The third flap 10 comprises lateral sides 19 which are in the upper part perpendicular to the outer periphery 20 of said flap, and in the lower part, that is to say situated on the side of the fold line 11, obliquely towards said line. folding, thus forming angles that will facilitate an embedding in the package.

Similarly, the lateral side 21 of the second flap 5 located on the opposite side to the lug 7 relative to the flap, is formed of a first portion 22 perpendicular to the outer end side 23 of the second flap, and a second biased portion 24 to the first fold line 4, which thus also has a beveled shape, again facilitating the introduction for embedding the cross in the box.

The respective dimensions of these different components are for the third component a length overall l smaller at the base for example 0.8 l .

The first component is for example and meanwhile square of a length and width equal to 1, the second flap being for its part with a length l 2 equal to the width of the third panel and an overall width of the greater equal to half the length of the third flap is 1/2.

On a représenté sur la figure 3 un flan 25 selon un deuxième mode de réalisation de l'invention propre à former un module croisillon 26 représenté sur la figure 4.We have shown on the figure 3 a blank 25 according to a second embodiment of the invention itself to form a cross-section module 26 shown on the figure 4 .

It comprises on the opposite side and symmetrical with respect to a central axis 28 of transverse symmetry of the blank, a fourth flap 29 connected to the first flap 27 by a third fold line 30, said fourth flap thus also being substantially square or rectangular like the second flap 4 and adapted to form a second intermediate wall 29 between two of said compartments 6.

The fourth component 29 comprises a second lug 31, symmetrical with the first lug 7 of the second louver 5 with respect to the central axis 28 of symmetry.

Le deuxième ergot 31 de verrouillage est situé à l'extrémité extérieure 32 du côté adjacent 33 à la troisième ligne de pliage 30.The second locking pin 31 is located at the outer end 32 of the adjacent side 33 at the third fold line 30.

The blank 25 also comprises a third substantially rectangular central flap 34 provided with two identical perforated tongues 35, of the type of the tongue 12 described with reference to FIG. figure 1 , and arranged to lock with the first and second lugs while being embedded in the recesses 18,36 of the first and third flaps to achieve the spider 26.

We have shown on the figure 3A a corrugated cardboard plate which will make it possible to form the blanks 25, 25 'making it possible to obtain the crosspieces of the figure 4 . On the Figure 4A there are two braces juxtaposed to each other 26, 26 ', the spider 26' resting respectively on the edges 21, 37 of the end of the second and fourth flaps 5 and 29 of the spider 26.

The Figure 4B shows, in turn, three braces 26, 26 ', 26 "arranged in a single file, the spider 26" can be inverted so as to have open compartments 38 outwardly on either side.

We have shown on the figure 4C two sets of braces 26, 26 ', before the turning of the spider 26', vis-à-vis two packages with eight sides of known type. The figure 4D shows in turn the braces placed inside the packages after turning spiders 26 ', which allows to locate the openings 38 to the outside, allowing the cut corners 40 to match the shape of the bottles at an angle (cf. . figure 4D ).

The figure 5 shows a third embodiment of a blank 42 according to the invention.

Here the blank comprises a first rectangular flap 43 connected by a first fold line 44 to a second flap 45 on one side and on the opposite side by a third fold line 46 to a fourth flap 47, said fourth flap being symmetrical with first flap with respect to an axis of symmetry 48 of the blank, axis perpendicular to the transverse dimension of the first, second and fourth flaps.

The blank 42 further comprises a third substantially rectangular main flap 49 comprising lateral edges 50 directed towards the first flap, biased towards the first flap, the third flap main flap being connected to said first flap by a second fold line 51 adjacent to the first and third fold lines 44 and 46. The third main flap is of overall length L less than the overall length L 'of the following the first, second and fourth parts.

Chacun des deuxième et quatrième volets est muni d'une encoche 52, symétrique de l'autre par rapport à l'axe central 48, lesdites encoches étant disposées au droit des première et troisième lignes de pliage 44 et 46.Each of the second and fourth flaps is provided with a notch 52, symmetrical to the other with respect to the central axis 48, said notches being arranged at the right of the first and third fold lines 44 and 46.

More specifically, these notches are formed by an orifice 53 formed in a tongue 54 made in a recess, for example rectangular 55 in the third flap. The height at which this notch is, when the tongue is erected perpendicularly to the flap 49, corresponds to that of the lugs or hooks 56 respectively belonging to the first flap 45 and fourth flap 47 located on the side of the third flap.

These hooks are arranged to engage in the recesses 53, once the tongue folded upwards horizontally.

Specifically, the hooks 56 are formed by a suitable recess 57 of the carton, at the corner 58 of the corresponding cardboard flap, directed outwards.

A small groove 59 in the bottom of the recess also allows snapping and locking the end 60 of the tongue 54 when the spider 61 is formed, as shown with reference to the figure 6 .

In the embodiment more particularly described here with reference to the figure 5 , each of the first and fourth flaps further comprises a notch 62 perpendicular to the fold lines 44 or 46, and made centrally or substantially at the center of the outer end side 63 of said flaps, said notches 62 being adapted to cooperate with a plate separator 64 (cf. Figure 5A ), itself provided with notches 65 adapted to fit into the notches 62, when the plate is put in place. The notches 62, 65 are for example terminated at their outer end by V-shaped openings for better introduction and guiding of the one into the other, before blocking.

We have shown on Figures 6B, 6C and 6D the use of such sets 61, 64; 61 ', 64', on the outside of a package ( Figure 6B ), inside a rectangular packaging 67, before introduction of the separating plates 64, 64 ', ( Figure 6C ) and after filling with products 68 which here have rectangular shapes ( Figure 6D ).

In the embodiments of FIGS. 6, 6A, 6B, 6C, and 6D , and to be able to have open locations on the side of the inner walls of the box 67, the set of blanks 61, 64 has been turned over to be turned upside down with the set of blanks 61 ', 64', as shown by FIG. arrow 69 on the Figure 6B .

This is an example of grouping made from a module of three cells for rectangular bottles, to obtain very simply and instantly a cross of twelve cells, thanks to two separator plates.

We have shown on the figure 7 another embodiment of a blank 70 provided with a first rectangular flap 71, a second flap and a fourth flap 72 and 73 connected on either side to the first flap by first and third lines of folding as described above with reference to the figure 3 , and provided with lugs of the type described with reference to the same figure on their ends 18.

Le troisième volet central 74 comprend quant à lui, de façon similaire au volet 34 de la figure 3,deux languettes 35.The third central component 74, for its part, similarly to the component 34 of the figure 3 two tabs 35.

In this embodiment, they are separated on the transverse central axis 28 of the package, by a notch 75, for example terminated by a small slot in the form of a small hook 76.

This small slot or cut located in the lower part, at the end of the notch 75, allows better attachment of the splitter plate provided to complete the cross. This is for example the plate 77 of the Figure 7A , which could be used on a series of five or six braces each obtained with the blank 70 of the figure 7 .

This separating plate is provided with notches 78 arranged to cooperate with the notches 75 of the blank of the figure 7 notches also provided with cuts in the form of small hooks 76.

We have shown on the figure 8A the result of the cross 79 obtained with the different sets of blanks of the figure 7 . As shown on the figure 8 the central separating plate 77 is introduced from above and makes them integral with each other. other. The assembly can then be inserted in a package of adequate size.

The Figures 9, 10 and 11 show examples of groupings that can be made from basic modules as described above with four cells ( figure 9 ) five cells ( figure 10 ) and six cells ( figure 11 ).

From the module 80 corresponding to the blank of the figure 7 , provided with a central notch 75, and the separator plate 77, a cross of twenty round bottles is obtained by the use of five modules and a separating plate.

A partir d'un module 81, muni de deux encoches 82 du type d'encoche 75, on obtient un croisillon de trente bouteilles rondes, par exemple avec six modules 81 plus deux plaques séparatrices 77.From a module 81, provided with two notches 82 of the notch type 75, a brace of thirty round bottles is obtained, for example with six modules 81 plus two separating plates 77.

Enfin, à partir d'un croisillon 83 muni de trois encoches 84 réparties régulièrement entre les languettes 35 et correspondant aux encoches 82 et 75, on obtient un croisillon 86 de trente six bouteilles rondes, en utilisant ici six modules 83, plus trois plaques séparatrices 77.Finally, from a spider 83 provided with three notches 84 regularly distributed between the tongues 35 and corresponding to the notches 82 and 75, a spider 86 of thirty six round bottles is obtained, using here six modules 83, plus three separating plates. 77.

We have shown on Figures 12A and 12B two embodiments of plates 90 and 91 for obtaining blanks 25, 25 'and 25 ", 25"' of the type described with reference to FIG. figure 3 . In a first case (plate 90) the blanks are arranged to be cut by a flat cutting machine of known type, for example manufactured by the Swiss company BOBST, following each other. In a second case (plate 91) two of two successive blanks are placed head to tail, symmetrically with respect to a transverse axis of symmetry 92.

It appears that these provisions will save the consumption of cardboard.

The blanks making it possible to obtain the modules are grouped together in sets that make it possible, for example, to cut two groups 101 of modules in one and the same width in a cardboard plate, said groups being interconnected by attachment points which can break with traction or shear

Here, for example, but in no way limiting, was chosen to take a group of four modules compliant with the figure 12A . After separation of blanks delivered in panoplie, each cardboard blank having two to four modules interconnected by attachment points, by means of metal blade 100, there are two groups 101 blanks, which are themselves separate between them, to form the four blank lines 25, 25 ', 25 "and 25"'.

These are moved (arrow 102) on the forming elements or training stations 103 of modules.

These setting elements in modules consist of several stations in parallel, the number of positions varying according to the number of blanks desired.

In the embodiment of the figure 13 there are four volume positions. The first steps A and B allow the unstacking, the cutting in a manner known per se, and the transport 102 to the training stations 103. The separation of the blanks, can be done during the transfer, or at the following training stations, (Step C), for example, at the transfer head.

Step D is the step of formation by cavity and / or vertical lift of the folding fingers 104.

The blank begins to take its folded configuration.

Puis lors de l'étape G, il y a retrait des doigts mobiles, les croisillons étant alors constitués et les languettes encastrées dans les ergots en 107.Once the blanks in the position of braces (Step E), is carried out the F-locking step of the tongues 105 by the movable fingers 106. Then in step G, there is withdrawal of the movable fingers, the braces being then constituted and the tabs embedded in the lugs in 107.

In the embodiment described here, a step H of rotation (arrow 108) at 180 ° of one or more modules 25 and 25 "is carried out. This rotation step is for example carried out by the suction gripping means arranged to rotate mechanically around an axis of 180 °.

Then comes the step J. The objective here is to be able to obtain a symmetry of the spider 109 for insertion into the crates 110 (arrow 111) which also makes it possible to avoid any risk that the vertical end wall of the last module comes from abut against the wall of the box.

The braces are then introduced into the crates 110 to obtain the crisscross boxes 112 in step K.

In order to better illustrate the important steps of the process according to the invention, they have been represented in perspective and in a side view on the Figures 14A to 14D .

These important steps correspond to steps C, D, F and J of the figure 13 above described.

The blanks 25, 25 ', taken in known manner by suction cup devices are placed on the forming elements 103 (103').

Ceux-ci comprennent une partie centrale 113 (113') en forme de puits (cf. figure 14A).These comprise a central portion 113 (113 ') in the form of a well (cf. figure 14A ).

A piston-shaped piece 114 provided with a push plate 115, for example actuated pneumatically at 116, is then positioned on the bottom 27 of the blank 25 with which it has a complementary shape, and / or smaller.

The plate is here, and for example, removable and can be changed to fit the dimensions of the bottom 27.

On the Figure 14B to form the module, either the push plates are lowered, or the lateral fingers 104 are raised, or both, and this to form the walls of the braces by putting vertically the first and fourth side flaps 5 and 29 (5 'and 29 ') and the third flap 34, 34'.

At 14C, the tongues 35 are folded (arrow 117) on the pins 7, 31 by folding fingers (not shown) to obtain the spider 26, 26 '.

Then the 118 piston / hinge assembly is deactivated and / or moved to allow access to the means 119 for lifting, gripping and moving the braces 26, 26 'to the cross boxes.

On the Figures 15A and 15B two embodiments of boxes with braces according to the invention have been shown.

In the first ( figure 15A ), the braces 120 are inserted without 180 ° rotation of at least one of the modules, (26, 26 ', 26 ", 26"') thus adaptable to a rectangular box 121.

In the second, ( figure 15B ), there is rotation of at least one of the elements 26, to have an opening 38 on each side of the cross 122, which can be particularly used in crates 123 with cut corners 121.

We have shown on the figure 16 a machine 130 for manufacturing automatic braces from corrugated cardboard sheets 91 separated by a blade, for compartmentalizing boxes, comprising means 131 for storing at least one stack of blanks 133.

The blanks are for example blanks as described with reference to the figure 5 .

The machine 130 comprises means 136 (shown schematically in phantom on the figure 16 ) gripping type known in themselves, for example by suction cups 137 (cf. figure 18 ), by suction of at least a first set of blanks 138, means 139 (cf. figure 17 ) forming a module by swaging the first flap and / or raising of the fingers 103, 104 around and / or in a cavity 113, raising the second and third fourth flaps.

Ces moyens sont constitués de façon connue. These means are constituted in a known manner.

The elements (not shown) for locking the lugs in the tongues vis-à-vis once the plane in volume, include for example small pistons to push the tabs by folding on the lugs.

The figure 17 also shows schematically the arrival of the blanks 25, 25 ', 25 ", 25"' for example in the form of plate 91. These are positioned on the piston means 103, themselves arranged on guide rails 144 allowing adjust laterally and horizontally the size of the plungers and the plucking fingers before evacuation.

The figure 18 shows in turn the mechanical elements that are superimposed on the means for pistons, and in particular the gripping means 138 blanks, here again designed in a known manner in itself, and horizontally movable X, Y, Z, to come apply the blanks to the wells by means of cylinders and then evacuate them to the crates once formed.

As is obvious and as also follows from the above, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments more particularly described. On the contrary, it encompasses all the variants and in particular those in which the attachment means of the second and fourth components on the third component are different.
