- Method of disposing of packaging material for a sterile pack (2), wherein the sterile pack is opened in a clean room (7), and wherein the sterile pack has an outer bag and a transporting container sealed with sealing film, the method comprising the following steps:- opening the outer bag (3) such that the sealed transporting container (4) can be removed,- removing the sealed transporting container (4) and transporting the outer bag (3) to a central waste compactor (10),- opening the sealed transporting container by removing the sealing film (5) from the transporting container (4), and transporting the sealing film (5) to the central waste compactor (10), and- compacting together the outer bag (3) and the sealing film (5) to form a waste bale in the clean room (7).
- Method according to Claim 1, characterized in that the operation of opening the sealed transporting container (4) takes place in a clean room (8) of a higher clean-room class than for the operation of opening the outer bag (3).
- Method according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the operation of opening the outer bag (3) takes place such that an end region (30) of the outer bag (3) is separated off completely, and the transporting container remains in a main region (31) of the outer bag and can be removed straightforwardly from the main region (31).

- Apparatus for handling packaging material of a sterile pack (2), comprising at least a first clean room (7) and a waste compactor (10), which is arranged in the first clean room (7) and compacts packaging material to form a waste bale, wherein the sterile pack (2) has an outer bag (3) and a transporting container (4) sealed with a sealing film (5),
the apparatus comprising:- a second clean room (8), of a higher clean-room class than the first clean room (7),- a first removal station (11) in the first clean room (7), having a first cutting device (12) for opening the outer bag (3), having a first removal device (13), in order to remove the sealed transporting container (4) from the opened outer bag (3), and having a first gripping device (14), in order to grip the empty outer bag (3) and feed it to the waste compactor (10), and- a second removal station (16) in the second clean room (8), having a second cutting device (17) for opening the sealed transporting container (4), and having a second gripping device (18), in order to grip the sealing film (5) removed from the transporting container (4) and feed it to the waste compactor (10),and also comprising a conveying device (15) for conveying the sealed transporting container from the first removal station to the second removal station. - Apparatus according to Claim 6, further comprising a second conveying apparatus (20) for conveying the sealing film (5), once removed, from the second clean room (8) to the waste compactor (10) in the first clean room (7).
- Apparatus according to either of Claims 6 and 7, characterized in that the waste compactor (10) comprises a film dispenser (21), in order to wrap film, in addition, around the waste bale.
- Apparatus according to one of Claims 6 to 8, characterized in that the first gripping device (14) and/or the second gripping device (18) are/is a suction gripper.
