- flashing lights for example, ambient lighting, marker lights, brake lights, fog lamps, reversing lights, and typically high set third brake lights, so-called Central, High-Mounted Braking lights, daytime running lights, headlamps and fog lights used as turning or cornering lights, as well as combinations thereof.
- a motor vehicle luminaire essentially comprises a housing, a luminous means arranged therein, optionally a reflector arranged behind the luminous means in the housing and / or an optical element arranged in front of the luminous element, such as a lens, a trough concentrator, eg a parabolic trough (CPC; Parabolic Concentrator) or the like for shaping a defined emission characteristic, as well as a transparent cover protecting the illuminant and optionally the reflector or the optic element against the effects of weathering, in short also referred to as a lens.
- the lens encloses together with the housing a lamp and possibly the reflector receiving the lamp interior.
- an optical disc can be arranged between the illuminant and the lens, which can have a specific structure and / or masking, for example, in order to conceal the luminous means in the case of a clear lens effecting a depth effect for a viewer.
- the housing or the interior of the lamp can be divided into several chambers, each with their own bulbs, possibly reflectors and / or optical discs, and optionally light discs, of which several chambers can be the same or each chamber a different one of the functions described above.
- the interior of the luminaire can be completely closed to the environment.
- the room can communicate with the environment via one or more ventilation openings or via a water-impermeable membrane.
- a motor vehicle light is also referred to as a closed light.
- the motor vehicle light can also be opened to the vehicle interior more or less large area.
- Such a motor vehicle light is also referred to as an open lamp.
- LEDs are, for example, incandescent lamps, gas discharge lamps and increasingly singly or in groups arranged light emitting diodes used.
- the latter consist of a light-emitting diode-semiconductor chip, short LED chip, as well as a molded for example by injection molding, the LED chip completely or partially enveloping primary optics.
- automotive lights are known in which pure LED chips are used without molded primary optics. In the following, therefore, for the sake of simplicity, no distinction is made between light-emitting diode and LED chip, and instead the term LED is used uniformly for both embodiments, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
- Outstanding properties of LEDs compared to other, conventional lamps are a much longer life and a much higher light output with the same power consumption.
- particularly compact motor vehicle lights can be realized by using LEDs as light sources, which can be adapted to almost every imaginable installation situation.
- condensation occurs especially in motor vehicle lights with LEDs as bulbs, as these favor lower heat generation in the interior of the lamp due to their higher light output compared to a conventional light source of the same power consumption.
- condensation of the lens may occur.
- light emitting diodes compared to conventional light sources no or virtually no heat radiation, which heat the lens and the condensation could counteract already functionally.
- JP 2009-54348 A is a motor vehicle lamp with an applied on the inside of the lens, known as antifogging coating anti-fogging coating known.
- the motor vehicle light has an inlet valve, through which at a negative pressure in the lamp relative to the surrounding air enters the lamp interior.
- the motor vehicle lamp has an outlet valve, by means of which at an overpressure in the lamp relative to the environment air can escape from the lamp interior.
- the inlet valve is associated with a desiccant, which adsorbs moisture from the air flowing into the interior. The desiccant may deliver some of the moisture to the air escaping from the interior through the outlet valve.
- the interior of the luminaire is therefore connected to the environment via the inlet and outlet valve.
- the moisture-absorbing drying agent is arranged in the valve, which enters Moisture absorb and give back to outflowing air.
- Adsorption involves the accumulation of substances from gases or liquids on the surface of a solid, more generally at the interface between two phases, whereas upon absorption the substances penetrate into the interior of a solid or liquid.
- a drying agent consisting of a mixture of a porous polymer with a drying agent is known.
- the desiccant thus prepared may be used near a heat source or a changeover device such as an automotive lamp.
- the heat generated by the heat source regenerates the drying agent mixed under the porous polymer.
- U1 is a motor vehicle lamp with a closed to the environment lamp interior known.
- the interior of the luminaire is under negative pressure with respect to the environment and is filled with pre-dried air.
- a drying agent which absorbs moisture until it saturates and then has to be replaced.
- a motor vehicle lamp in which a heat source and a desiccant with a pore structure and high adsorptivity in the lamp interior is arranged, and a conveying device which promotes air from the heat source to the lens along the drying agent.
- the invention has for its object to develop a motor vehicle lamp, in which a condensation of the lens is effectively prevented.
- a motor vehicle lamp is provided with a luminaire housing enclosed by a luminaire housing and a lens which terminates this lens, which accommodates a moisture absorbing and regeneratively releasing superabsorbent polymer.
- the superabsorbent polymer keeps the relative humidity in the interior of the lamp at a constant value given by the structure of the polymer.
- the superabsorbent polymer housed by the motor vehicle light is preferably arranged in the interior of the lamp.
- the superabsorbent polymer may be disposed on a wall bounding the lamp interior, such as on the inside of the lamp housing and / or the inside of the lens.
- the superabsorbent polymer may occupy at least part of the corresponding inner side.
- the invention is realized in each case by the use of superabsorbent materials for receiving the humidity entering the lamp interior. These materials are able to release the absorbed humidity without the need for additional equipment. This allows you to set a controlled humidity inside the luminaire. The reversible moisture absorption ensures that it has no saturation effect and therefore no consumption of the moisture regulating Material is coming. Likewise, no additional equipment, such as a heater or the like are required to produce the reversible effect.
- the resulting advantages over the prior art include, inter alia, that the invention solves the problem for a long time known in the art of condensation of the lens of motor vehicle lights in certain weather conditions.
- the superabsorbent polymer is a relatively inexpensive solution, in particular over the proposals known from the prior art of using a conveying device to circulate air in the luminaire interior to prevent condensation. Due to the enormous absorption capacity of moisture by the superabsorbent polymer and its reversible property, moisture without special measures, such as. Auskochen, heating or the like to be able to deliver again, only a small space is required.
- the superabsorbent polymer is preferably made of polyacrylic acid which is partially neutralized.
- the superabsorbent polymer is characterized in that it can absorb and store many times its own weight in liquid or moisture, the process being reversible.
- the superabsorbent polymer preferably comprises crosslinked polymer particles in which sodium ions are bonded.
- an osmotic pressure builds up on contact with water, which sucks the water into the polymer.
- the water is taken up until the elastic restoring forces of the polymer network compensate for the osmotic forces.
- the superabsorbent polymer can be introduced in the form of a fleece in the interior of the lamp.
- the superabsorbent polymer can form, comprise or be covered by the nonwoven material.
- the fleece material can be used very flexibly in small remaining installation spaces in the interior of the lamp.
- the motor vehicle light can be configured, for example, as a motor vehicle tail light or as a daytime running light.

- the motor vehicle light has one or more incandescent lamps and / or gas discharge lamps as lighting means.
- One in the Fig. 1 and 2 illustrated motor vehicle light 01 consists essentially of one of a lamp housing 02 and the lamp housing 02 final lens 03 enclosed lamp interior 04, in which a lamp 05 and a reflector 06 are arranged.
- the reflector 06 may have a plurality of reflector chambers provided for each illuminant 05.
- a plurality of lamps 05 arranged individually or in groups may be arranged on a light source carrier, not shown, which light source carrier may also comprise the reflector 06 or in which the reflector may be integrated.

- multiple LED chips 09 may be completely or partially enveloped by a common primary optics 08, wherein the primary optics 08 may also be formed as a light guide.
- Openings 10 in the rear area of the reflector 06 and the luminaire housing 02 can be provided for electrically contacting the electrical connections 11 of the luminous means 05.
- the openings 10 may be subsequently sealed, for example by one or more rubber grommets or seals.
- motor vehicle lights 01 is arranged in the lamp interior 04 a moisture-absorbing and regenerative again donating superabsorbent polymer 15.
- the superabsorbent polymer 15 is arranged, for example, in the lower part of the lamp interior 04 in a region near the lens 03.
- the superabsorbent polymer 15 may be as in the Fig. 1 and 2 represented at least in a subsequent to the lower edge of the lens 03 portion 16 of the lamp housing 02 be arranged such that the superabsorbent polymer 15 is disposed at least on the subsequent to the lamp housing 02 lower edge of the lens 03.
- a gap can be provided between the lens 03 and the superabsorbent polymer 15 arranged in the region 16 of the luminaire housing 02 adjoining the lower edge of the lens 03, which, for example, damages the superabsorbent polymer 15 during the production of a bonded connection between the luminaire housing 02 and the lens 03 during an assembly process of the vehicle light 01 prevented. It is also conceivable to introduce the superabsorbent polymer 15 at a suitable point into the lamp interior 04 after the production of such a compound.
- the superabsorbent polymer 15, for example in the form of a fleece 17, can in principle be arranged at any suitable location in the interior 04 of the luminaire.
- can superabsorbent polymer 15 may be arranged at several suitable locations simultaneously in the lamp interior 04.
- a suitable location is characterized, for example, by the fact that the superabsorbent polymer 15 disposed there preferably does not impair the light path from the illuminant 05, optionally via a reflector through the lens 03, out of the motor vehicle light 01.
- the luminaire housing 02 can be equipped with a condensate discharge 12, which connects the luminaire interior 04 with the environment 18.

- the motor vehicle light 01 may be configured, for example, as a daytime running light or as a motor vehicle tail lamp.
- This condensation after rain or after cold nights is a normal physical process.
- the expanding heated air is displaced from the switched-on motor vehicle light 01.
- the air contained in the lamp interior 04 cools slowly.
- Moist air from the outside penetrates via the ventilation opening and possibly precipitates as condensation on the lens 03 under suitable thermodynamic conditions.
- the dewing of the lens 03 occurs when the dew point is reached for the adjacent to the lens 03 air by lowering or lowering the air temperature.
- motor vehicle lights 01 with incandescent lamps as bulbs 05 so much heat is generated by the waste heat of the bulb 05 that the effect occurs only to a tolerable degree.
- motor vehicle lights 01 with one or more light-emitting diodes 07 from one completely or partially covered by a primary optics 08 LED chip 09 and / or one or more pure LED chips 09 without molded primary optics 08 as the illuminant 05 eliminates this heating process.
- more or less successful attempts are made according to the prior art, with elaborate ventilation systems, which ensure that sufficient air circulation in the lamp interior 04 takes place, to prevent fogging of the lens 03.
- the visible droplet deposit is converted into an invisible film of water by means of a suitable hydrophilic coating.
- absorbent materials such as silica gel in the luminaire interior 04 is known.
- the absorbent materials hitherto used in the prior art have the disadvantage that they are quickly saturated, thus have a short life and need to be replaced regularly or have to be heated by an additional heater to release the absorbed moisture again.
- the inventively for example, in a subsequent to the lower edge of the lens 03 batch 16 of the lamp housing 02 in the lower part of the lamp interior 04 in a region near the lens 03 arranged superabsorbent polymer 15 can absorb moisture and regenerative again give off and the relative humidity in the lamp interior on a by the structure of the polymer predetermined constant value.
- the structure of the polymer predetermined constant value As a result, on the one hand prevents condensation and on the other hand, an already existing, resulting for example at standstill of a motor vehicle dewing be reduced.
- Superabsorbent polymers 15 can be made, for example, from polyacrylic acid which is partially neutralized. They are characterized by the fact that they can absorb and store a multiple of their own weight of liquid. Behind a superabsorbent polymer 15 is, for example, a crosslinked polymer particle in which sodium ions are bound. As a result, an osmotic pressure builds up, which sucks surrounding water or moisture into the polymer. Water is absorbed until the elastic restoring forces of the Polymer network compensate the osmotic forces. The process is reversible.
- a superabsorbent polymer 15 can absorb and release moisture as often as desired.
- the superabsorbent polymer 15 can be used, for example, in conjunction with a polyester fleece 17 for moisture regulation in the interior 04 of the motor vehicle light 01. It is also conceivable that the superabsorbent polymer 15 itself is introduced in the form of a fleece 17 in the lamp interior 04. In either case, the superabsorbent polymer 15 may form, include, or be comprised of the nonwoven material 17.
- the nonwoven material 17 can be used very flexibly in small remaining installation spaces in the interior of the lamp.
- the motor vehicle light 01 does not necessarily have to be equipped with one or more reflectors 06, for example a reflector with a plurality of reflector chambers provided for each illuminant 05.
- the luminaire housing 02 may be provided at least in part with a reflective coating on one or more of its inner surfaces facing the luminaire interior 04.
- the inner surfaces of the luminaire housing 02 which are provided with a reflective coating, form reflection surfaces which can completely or partially replace a reflector 06.
- optics which are connected in front of the LEDs 07, so that no reflector or other coated surface are necessary.
- the invention is particularly industrially applicable in the field of production of motor vehicle lights.

Description
