Definitions
- the invention relates to a tubular cover for a surgical instrument, wherein the cover has a closed end and an open end.
- the invention relates to a particularly rolled-up covering for a surgical instrument in a form advantageous for storing, transporting and / or as a sales unit and a method for the production thereof.
- Coatings for surgical instruments e.g. for retractors, liver hooks, etc.
- these sales units or packaging units that can be handled at all, they are usually rolled up over the edge of the open end of the coating and regularly packaged sterile in individual units, so that the coating assumes a flat conformation.
- the cover is placed on the surgical instrument and unrolled by grasping the edge at the open end of the cover and pulling on the surgical instrument.
- a particularly advantageous coating for surgical instruments is known from DE 20 2007 008 070. This shows a blind ending tube-like coating, which has on opposite sides of the open end of the coating arranged bands which are rolled when rolling the edge of the open end of the coating for transfer into a storable and transportable form in the resulting bead.
- the coating In order to obtain the surgical instrument, the coating must merely be applied to the surgical instrument and pulled on the bands in order to unroll the coating onto the surgical instrument. This ensures a uniform pull on
- the entire bead-rolled coating still has to be unrolled from the closed end to the open end of the cover.
- Object of the present invention is therefore to provide a coating for surgical instruments as storable sales unit, which can be applied quickly to surgical instruments and is less susceptible to damage when using the same material.
- the cover 10 consists of a tubular textile material, e.g. Cotton, and has a cavity that blindly terminates on one side of the cover (the closed end 20 of the cover 10) and is open on the opposite end (the open end 30 of the cover 10) to the outside, the surgical instrument is introduced from this side into the cavity.
- a tubular textile material e.g. Cotton
- the coating can be produced when the blind ending or closed end 20 of the tubular coating 10 by sewing the Tubing is formed. It is also advantageous if at the closed end 20 of the coating 10, an X-ray contrast strip is firmly connected to the coating 10.
- a fastener 50 is preferably provided for attaching the cover 10 to the surgical instrument.
- the fastening means 50 may be, for example, a sewn with the coating 10 band.
- the fastening means 50 is particularly advantageously an adhesive strip, on the one hand in the production of the
- the fastening means 50 also preferably has an X-ray contrast strip.
- the coating 10 shown in Fig. Ia is processed for transferring into a suitable for transport, storage or sale form or conformation according to the steps shown in Fig. Ib-Id.
- a first step see Fig. Ib
- the closed end 20 of the cover 10 is inverted in the direction of the open end 30 in the cavity formed by the tubular portion of the cover 10, wherein the closed end 20 approximately to the open end 30 of the coating to be led.
- a second step see Fig. Ic
- the (newly formed) edge of the indentation is bent outwardly thereon and preferably completely rolled in the direction of the open end 30 of the coating 10 until, in the side view and in FIG. Ie product shown in plan view (from the right) passes.
- the coating 10 now has a flat shape.
- the coating can be unrolled at a higher speed and with less resistance, since that during coating Material released from the bead on a surgical instrument is moved in the direction of the closed end 20 and toward the free end 30 of the cover 10. As a result, the risk of damage to the coating 10 is reduced by too fast pulling on the coating 10. Fig.
- the present invention enables a form suitable for transporting and storing surgical instrument coatings, which also enables rapid and safe preparation of the surgical instruments to be covered by the coatings.
