- each barge 10 has at least one assembly 15 on each of its longitudinal edges and, preferably, two sets 15 on each of its longitudinal edges so as to connect each barge 10 to the bridge 1 by four points.
- the assemblies 15 limit and control the roll of each barge 10 individually relative to the bridge 1 to be installed when it is laid on the fixed structure 3.
- said at least one lifting cylinder 1 1 is actuated to raise the bridge 1 by a determined height relative to its initial towing position on the barges 10.
- the cylinders 16 are held under pressure and as the bridge is lifted 1 these cylinders 16 control and limit the roll of each barge 10 relative to the bridge 1.
- the pressure in the cylinders 16 is released and each piston rod is free to move in the cylinder. If the barges 10 rise under the effect of the swell or wave, this movement is not transmitted to the bridge 1 due to the presence of the connecting member 17 between the cylinder rod 16a of the cylinder 16 and the bridge 1 which avoids an uplift of this bridge 1 of the support structure 3.
- the device according to the invention therefore allows by simple means and commonly used in this area to control and limit the roll of each barge individually by relative to the bridge during installation on a floating or fixed support structure.
- This device can also be used to control the roll of the barges during the transport of the bridge between the assembly site of this bridge and the operating site.
