Da es sich um industriell gefertigte bzw. standardisierte Bauteile handelt, ist die mögliche Gesamtdicke zwischen den beiden Außengurten festgelegt und es sind hier keine Möglichkeiten vorhanden, die Dicke der Dämmschicht entsprechend den jeweiligen Gegebenheiten zu variieren. Überdies kann man die Gesamtdicke der Konstruktion durch Verwendung verschieden breiter Stege variabel gestalten.
