  • the locks of these submarines can be used to bring divers out of submerged submarines and catch them up.
  • the locks can be used to deploy weapons and underwater vehicles.
  • the equipment of these locks is usually only for a specific purpose, for example, only to the application of certain weapons or only to the withdrawal of divers, adapted.
  • z. B. trained for deploying special weapons lock may not at all suitable for discharging other objects or people and is in a use of a submarine in which such weapons should not be deployed, an unused space within the submarine, which in particular with regard to small space available smaller submarines is disadvantageous.
  • the US 5,677,506 describes a submarine with a pressure vessel of the submarine in the vertical direction at least partially passing through the lock.
  • the lock is designed to receive a module, wherein the module can be an extendable turret or an extendable tower for deploying or retrieving the crew.
  • the present invention seeks to provide a submarine with a vertically oriented lock, which can be used more versatile compared to the locks previously known submarines.
  • the submarine according to the invention has, in a manner known per se, a pressure body in which at least one vertically oriented lock is formed.
  • This lock passes through the pressure hull of the submarine at least partially and has a top deck-side lock opening.
  • the lock opening can be closed pressure-tight with a lid.
