Description

The invention relates to a method and a device for processing printed products consisting of several paper layers according to the features of patent claims 1 and 4.

Printed products having only one longitudinal fold but no transverse fold are well known. These are performed after printing a web in a web press on a former, where provided with the longitudinal fold, and then separated by a Schneidmesserzylinder from the resulting fold strand, i. sporadically. Since these printed products are open at the resulting leading cut edge, fanning of individual pages may occur. This can in particular during the further transport of the printed products to tearing, cornering - i. bent pages - or other damage.

The document EP 0 342 490 A discloses a method according to the preamble of claim 1 and a funnel folder according to the preamble of claim 4.

Out WO 03/074400 A1 and WO 00/10899 Folding cylinders are known to fix printed products by means of puncturing needles on the lateral surface of the cylinder.

On this basis, it is the object of the invention to provide a method and a device by which damage to printed products, due to baffles of individual pages are prevented.

This object is achieved by the features of claims 1 and 4.

The inventive positive connection of the paper layers of a printed product in the region of an open, i. Unflattened edge, this can be moved with this product edge forward, without causing the fanning of individual pages. In particular, in the further transport of the printed products to other processing stations tears, cornering or other damage are advantageously prevented.

Particularly advantageous is the invention in folders, which attach only a longitudinal fold to the printed products and where the printed products with their open, ie unfolded side, are moved forward directed forward.

Other features and advantages will become apparent from the dependent claims in conjunction with the description.

In FIG. 1 an exemplary funnel folder is shown with a former 10, over which a - printed by a printing machine - 9 is guided paper web and with a longitudinal fold 8 (see FIG. 1a, b ). The paper web 9 may be a single (partial) web, which after the longitudinal folding and singulation to a product according to Fig. 1a leads or it can be several superimposed (sub) webs, which after the longitudinal folding and singulation to a product according to Fig. 1b lead where multiple signatures lie together. It is also conceivable that the single or multiple (partial) webs are cut longitudinally in the folding plane and are superimposed by guiding over the former. This creates a product like it is in Fig. 1c is shown, ie individual loose leaves are one above the other.

The longitudinally folded paper web 9 is guided after the former 10 via train and / or guide roller groups to a cutting unit 11, where individual printed products according to Fig. 1a, b or c be separated. Via a first ribbon cable 12, these printed products are conveyed to a so-called splitting device 13, which alternately feeds the successive printed products to a right-hand ribbon 14 and a left ribbon 15. The entire product stream is thereby divided into two partial streams. The left-hand ribbon lead 15 leads to a first blade wheel 16, which interprets the printed products on a first product delivery 19, and the right-hand ribbon lead 14 leads to a further blade wheel 17, which interprets the printed products on a further product delivery 18.

Die an den Zylindern 20, 21 eingezeichneten Pfeile geben die Drehrichtung der Schneideinheit 11 an.In FIG. 2 the cutting unit 11 is off FIG. 1 shown enlarged. On the right side, a cutting cylinder 21 can be seen, on which a cutting blade 23 is arranged and serves for separating individual printed products 7 from the paper web 9. Then directly to this cutting blade 23, a perforating 24 is provided. The cutting blade 23 and the perforator 24 act with a Cutting bar 22 together, which is arranged on a cutting cylinder 21 opposite counter cutting cylinder 20. The arrows drawn on the cylinders 20, 21 indicate the direction of rotation of the cutting unit 11.

When separating a printed product 7, the cutting blade 23 penetrates the paper web 9 over its entire width and immersed in the - preferably consisting of a cutting rubber - cutting strip 22 a. According to its arrangement on the - seen in the direction of rotation of the cutting cylinder 21 - trailing side of the cutting blade 23, the perforating knife 24 penetrates the paper web 9 slightly later in time, but only selectively with its perforating 25 ( Fig. 3 ).

In FIG. 3 an exemplary Perforiermesser 24 is shown, which is provided with projecting - with spaced apart - Perforierspitzen 25. By perforating, ie the punctiform penetration of all paper layers of the printed product, they are positively connected with each other.

At the end of the paper web 9 and the separated printed product 7 is shown schematically ( Fig. 2 ) As the individual paper layers are pushed out by the perforating 24 punctiform from the plane of the paper web and thus produce a connection between the paper layers.

The perforated paper layers are easily pulled apart, i. the connection is solvable. Also, the area with the perforation at the end of the processing of the printed products 7 can be removed by trimming.

Since the trailing side of the cutting blade 23, on which the perforating blade 24 is arranged, when separating a printed product 7, generates the leading edge of the following printed product, the individual paper layers of the printed products 7 are connected to each other at their leading edge.

The perforating tips 25 are preferably provided with a bevel 26, which is apparent from the sectional view A-A. The perforating blade 24 is preferably arranged next to the cutting blade so that the bevel 26 is directed towards the cutting blade 23. This advantageously prevents the printed product from becoming caught and damaged on the perforating blade 24 after cutting and perforating.

The number of perforation 25 and the distance of the perforation 25 to each other is selected according to how strong the connection should be. The more and / or the closer the perforation tips 25 are arranged next to each other, the greater the strength of the connection.

Ebenso kann durch die Anordnung der Perforierspitzen 25 der Ort der Verbindung festgelegt werden, z.B. nahe einer weiteren offenen Kante des Druckprodukts 7.Likewise, the location of the connection can be determined by the arrangement of the perforation tips 25, for example near another open edge of the printed product 7.

The cutting cylinder 21 and the counter cutting cylinder 20 of in FIG. 1 and 2 cutting unit 11 shown are preferably provided at its periphery in each case with two cutting bars or perforation knives and counter cutting strips. However, depending on the section length of the printed products, it is also conceivable to provide three or more systems on the circumference.

The essence of the invention is to see all the paper layers of a printed product on an open side, i. at an unfolded edge, detachably connect to each other. As a result, it can be advantageously prevented that the individual pages fan out and become damaged when the printed product is moved forward with this edge.

For this purpose, in addition to the perforation provided at the embodiment described above also point needles - as they are generally known from folders - are arranged, which puncture puncture the paper layers of the printed product and thus form-fitting connect.

Furthermore, it is also conceivable to perform the perforation or needling and the separation of the individual printed products from the paper web in separate operations. For this purpose, according to the embodiment FIG. 1 in the area between the former 10 and the cutting unit 11, which is equipped in this case only with cutting blades, a Perforierzylinderpaar be arranged.

Furthermore, it may also be advantageous to perforate or needles with a small distance from the edge of the product / cut edge in order to reduce the formation of chips. For this purpose could between the cutting blade 23 and the perforating 24 of the embodiment according to Figures 1-3 to put a spacer between. If the perforation takes place in a separate working step, the perforation unit of the cutting unit only has to lag.

As an alternative to perforating or needling - that is, penetrating the paper layers - it is also possible to emboss the paper layers on the edge of the printed product. Due to the associated pressing of a contour caused by material displacement relief-like, raised areas or depressions through which the individual paper layers are joined together.

For this purpose, for example, on the trailing side of the cutting blade knobs, ie surveys, which deform the paper layers during the cutting process selectively be provided.
