Claims (3)

  1. Device for the simultaneous three-sided trimming of products (16, 16') in a plurality of cutting stations (17, 18), comprising a common upper knife carrier (3, 3') that can be operated in a reciprocating motion, wherein at least knives for head trimming (10), foot trimming (9) and front edge trimming (6) of the products (16, 16') can be mounted on the upper knife carrier (3, 3'), wherein the device has at least a first cutting station (17) for front edge trimming and a second cutting station (18) for head and foot trimming and wherein the device has a conveyor (4) that conveys the products into the individual stations of the device and back out again, characterised in that the device has a third station (19) in which special punching operations are performed on the products (16, 16') by means of special punching tools (15), the punching tools (15) also being fastened to the upper knife carrier (3').
  2. Device according to claim 1, characterised in that knives (24) for separating two-up products are additionally fastened to the upper knife carrier (3') at least in the second cutting station (18).
  3. Method of finishing bound or stitched products consisting of paper sheets, characterised in that front edge trimming, head and foot trimming and/or cuts for separating two-up products, as well as special punching operations are performed on the products (16, 16') simultaneously in different stations (17, 18, 19) by the reciprocating motion of a common upper knife carrier (3').
