Definitions
- the present invention relates to a marker for grinding and cleaning capable of forming a mark on the surface of an exposed base material of a workpiece while grinding and cleaning the workpiece covered with a coating to peel the coating therefrom.
- oxidized iron is removed from a surface of the steel sheet to expose a base material thereof, rustproof coating is performed thereon, and a work such as cutting or welding is performed thereon in this state.
- a cutting speed may be decreased during the cutting or a blowhole may be formed during the welding in accordance with constituents of rustproof paint, which may cause a welding defect or the like.
- a rustproof coating is peeled along a desired cutting line or welding line to expose a surface of a workpiece, information such as a cutting line, a welding line, or a symbol of a member to be welded is marked on the exposed surface, and then cutting or welding is performed along the mark.
- Patent Document 1 relates to a numerically-controlled grinding-cleaning device in which a grinding-cleaning carriage is loaded on a carriage, configured to travel in one direction, to be movable in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction and the grinding-cleaning carriage is attached with a blaster nozzle and a marking torch or a printing device.
- a work of peeling the paint coated on the surface of the steel sheet and a work of forming a mark or a print thereon may be separately performed. For this reason, the work of peeling the paint coated on the surface of the steel sheet is first performed. Then, after a series of peeling work is finished, the marking work may be performed on the exposed surface with the paint being peeled again by returning the grinding-cleaning carriage to the initial position.
- the mark is formed on the exposed surface of the steel sheet. Then, when the cutting or the welding is performed along the mark, the cutting or the welding may be performed without the influence of the paint. For this reason, the cutting or the welding may be performed with high quality without decreasing the cutting speed or forming the blowhole at the welding portion.
- Patent Document 2 relates to a numerically-controlled grinding-cleaning device which has the same basic configuration as that of Patent Document 1, but is different in that an endless grinding belt is used to grind and clean the steel sheet. For this reason, the structure of the grinding-cleaning device becomes complicated, but a function of peeling paint from a surface of a steel sheet or a function of forming a mark such as a line, a character, or a symbol on an exposed surface may be performed.
- Patent Document 1 Japanese Patent No. 2875745
- Patent Document 2 Japanese Patent No. 3118014 From DE 197 54 602 C1 , a marker for grinding and cleaning with the features of the preamble of claim 1 is known.
- the grinding-cleaning member using the blaster nozzle or the grinding belt and the marking member such as the marking torch or the printing device are loaded on the same grinding-cleaning carriage while having a predetermined gap therebetween. Then, the grinding-cleaning work and the marking work may be separately performed on the steel sheet subjected to the rustproof coating. In this case, the grinding-cleaning work is performed once on the steel sheet to expose the surface of the steel sheet, and the marking work is performed on the exposed surface of the steel sheet. That is, the grinding-cleaning work and the marking work are performed by moving the grinding-cleaning device twice with respect to one steel sheet. For this reason, a problem arises in that it takes time for the marking work.
- An object of the invention is to provide a marker for grinding and cleaning capable of shortening a work time by forming a mark on a workpiece at the same time when grinding and cleaning processes are performed on the workpiece.
- the marking member is set as the turning center
- the grinding-cleaning member as the other member is configured to be turnable around the turning center
- the turning member is provided to turn the turnable grinding-cleaning member. Accordingly, if the desired mark is a line, when the grinding-cleaning member is turned about the marking member, the grinding-cleaning member and the marking member may be arranged along the direction of the mark.
- the marking member may form a mark on the ground and cleans the surface of the workpiece at the same time when grinding and cleaning the workpiece using the grinding-cleaning member.
- the marking member as the turning center and the grinding-cleaning member turning about the turning center are elevated by the primary elevation member, and the grinding-cleaning member is elevated by the secondary elevation member at an elevation speed faster than that of the primary elevation member, the distance between the marking member as the turning center and the workpiece and the distance between the grinding-cleaning member turning about the turning center and the workpiece may be maintained to be substantially constant.
- a carriage is moved along a desired cutting line or a desired welding line (hereinafter, referred to as a "process line"), a grinding-cleaning member and a marking member loaded thereon are driven to grind and clean a workpiece (where a rustproof coating or an oxide coating formed on the surface of the workpiece is peeled therefrom), and a mark including a line or a symbol is formed along the ground and cleaned portion.
- a process line a desired cutting line or a desired welding line
- a grinding-cleaning member and a marking member loaded thereon are driven to grind and clean a workpiece (where a rustproof coating or an oxide coating formed on the surface of the workpiece is peeled therefrom), and a mark including a line or a symbol is formed along the ground and cleaned portion.
- the marking member is set as a turning center, and the grinding-cleaning member is configured to be turnable about the turning center. Accordingly, in the state where the carriage moves along the desired process line, the marking member is driven, and the grinding-cleaning member is driven and turned if necessary, thereby performing a grinding-cleaning work and a marking work on the workpiece when the carriage moves once.
- the configuration of the carriage is not particularly limited as long as the carriage may move the marking member and the grinding-cleaning member loaded thereon along the desired process line.
- a door-shaped carriage may be used which includes a traveling unit disposed across a pair of rails to be travel thereon and a transverse moving unit configured to move in the transverse direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the traveling unit.
- a robot having a front end with a marking member and a grinding-cleaning member may be used.
- the structure of the carriage loading the marking member and the grinding-cleaning member thereon is not particularly limited as long as the marking member and the grinding-cleaning member may be moved along the desired process line.
- a powder (thermal spraying) marking type which includes a center hole spraying metal powder and a flame hole forming a flame and forms a thin line on a surface of a workpiece by spraying the metal powder from the center hole while forming a flame.
- a paint marking type which includes a hole spraying liquid paint and forms a thin line by continuously spraying the paint from the hole

- the marking type according to the invention is a paint marking type which includes a plurality of holes arranged in a matrix shape and spraying liquid paint and forms a symbol using a dot by intermittently spraying the paint from the selected holes.
- the structure of the grinding-cleaning member is not particularly limited as long as the member may peel a material to be ground and cleaned from the surface of the workpiece. That is, it is desirable to appropriately select the structure depending on whether the material to be peeled from the surface of the workpiece is paint or oxide coating, whether the attachment strength to the base material is large or small, and the like.
- the grinding-cleaning member there is known a sand blaster which grinds and cleans a surface of a workpiece by making sand granules to collide with the surface thereof or a shot blaster which grinds and cleans the surface by making steel balls to collide with the surface. Further, there are known a belt-type grinding-cleaning member using an endless grinding belt, a whetstone-type grinding-cleaning member using a whetstone, a wire-type grinding-cleaning member using a plurality of wires formed in a disc shape as a grinding material, and the like, and it is desirable to selectively use these types.
- a carriage 1 is formed as a transverse carriage of a door-shaped traveling carriage 1a so that the carriage is movable in a desired direction by the combination of the linear traveling movement of the traveling carriage 1a and the transverse traveling movement in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the traveling carriage 1a.

- a marking member A is attached to a lower end portion of the turning shaft 5a.
- the center of the marking member A is disposed to be aligned with the center 7 (turning center 7) of the turning shaft 5a, and when the turning shaft 5a rotates, the marking member A rotates about the turning center 7. Accordingly, even when the turning shaft 5a rotates, the center position of the marking member A with respect to the turning center 7 does not change. That is, in the embodiment, the marking member A is used as a base line.
- the marking member A includes a marking block 6 in which a plurality of holes is disposed on the surface in a matrix shape.
- a liquid paint supply unit (not shown) connected to each hole is selectively driven, the liquid paint may be continuously or intermittently sprayed.
- a plurality of height detection sensors 8 is disposed around the marking member A and is attached to a bracket 8a fixed to the marking block 6. Then, the distance from the marking member to the surface of the workpiece C is measured by using the sensor 8, and the elevation motor 3a is driven in response to the measurement signal so that a gap between the marking member 6 and the workpiece C is maintained within a constant range at all times.
- the elevation motor 3a is driven in response to the signal from the sensor 8 so that the elevation bracket 2 and the marking member 6 are moved downward.
- the marking member 6 may be moved downward.
- a grinding-cleaning member B is provided at the turning bracket 5f.
- the distance from the turning center 7 of the turning shaft 5a to the center line 10 of the grinding-cleaning member B is set to a predetermined value. Then, when the turning motor 5c is driven, the center line 10 may be turned about the turning center 7. That is, the grinding-cleaning member B may be turned about the marking member A.
- a shot blasting device 11 is used for the grinding-cleaning member B.
- the shot blasting device 11 includes: a cylindrical nozzle 11a which sprays sand granules or steel balls (sands) to the surface of the workpiece C; a supply port 11b which is connected to a supply unit (not shown) supplying sands to the nozzle 11a; and a collection port 11c which is connected to a collection unit (not shown) collecting the sands sprayed from the nozzle 11a.
- a brush 11d is provided at the front end of the nozzle 11a to prevent sands from being scattered.
- a plurality of rotatable rollers 12 is disposed around the grinding-cleaning member B and is attached to a bracket 12a fixed to the nozzle 11a.
- the dimension of each roller 12 is set to have a good positional relationship between the contact surface and the nozzle 11a of the grinding-cleaning member B, where the positional relationship indicates that the workpiece is highly efficiently ground and cleaned by sprayed sands. Then, when the roller 12 contacts the surface of the workpiece C, the distance between the nozzle 11a and the surface of the workpiece C may be maintained.
- the grinding-cleaning member B is configured to be movable in the lifting and lowering direction by a lifting and lowering device 13 disposed at the turning bracket 5f.
- the lifting and lowering device 13 includes an air cylinder and is configured to follow the lifting and lowering movement of the roller 12 moving and contacting the surface of the workpiece C without particularly applying a force in the down direction after the grinding-cleaning member B is moved downward so that the roller 12 contacts the surface of the workpiece C.
- the roller 12 and the lifting and lowering device 13 constitute a secondary elevation member.
- An initial height setting device 15 is provided at the side surface of the turning shaft 5a.
- the initial height setting device 15 is used to set the initial distances of the marking member A and the grinding-cleaning member B from the surface of the workpiece C when starting a grinding-cleaning work with respect to the workpiece C.
- the initial height setting device 15 is formed as an air cylinder in which a contactor 15a is attached to the front end thereof.
- the carriage 1 is moved in response to a command transmitted from a control device (not shown) while the elevation bracket 2 is moved upward, and the marking member A (turning center 7) is made to face the marking start position of the workpiece C. Subsequently, the grinding-cleaning member B is turned about the marking member A to following the direction of the predetermined process line.
- the turning shaft 5a is turned in the desired direction by driving the turning motor 5c to correspond to the direction of the desired process line about the turning center 7 (the marking member A), so that the direction of the line connecting the turning center 7 and the center line 10 (the grinding-cleaning member B) follows the desired process line.
- the line connecting the turning center 7 and the center line 10 may not be aligned with the process line.
- the center of the marking portion formed by the marking member A may not be aligned with the center of the grinding-cleaning portion formed by the grinding-cleaning member B.
- the desired process line is a cutting line
- the marking line formed by the marking member A is substantially aligned with the process line. For this reason, it is desirable that the direction of the line connecting the turning center 7 and the center line 10 is aligned with the direction of the desired process line.
- the desired process line is a welding line
- the marking line formed by the marking member A is not aligned with the center of the welding portion, and the marking line is aligned with one surface of a member to be welded to the workpiece C. That is, when the desired process line is the welding line, the marking line is formed at a position deviated from the center of the welding portion toward one side by about 1/2 of the thickness of the welding member. For this reason, the turning center 7 of the marking member A is set to a position deviated from the desired process line by about 1/2 of the thickness of the welding member, and the center line 10 of the grinding-cleaning member B is set to a position aligned with the center of the welding portion.
- the direction of the center line 10 is set to satisfy the work condition and the direction of the desired process line, and the center line is turned about the turning center 7. Accordingly, the grinding-cleaning member B is turned about the marking member A
- the initial height setting device 15 is operated to move the contactor 15a downward. Subsequently, the elevation motor 3a is driven to move the elevation bracket 2 downward, so that the marking member A, the grinding-cleaning member B, and the initial height setting device 15 are simultaneously moved downward.
- the contactor 15a of the initial height setting device 15 contacts the surface of the workpiece C with the downward movement of the elevation bracket 2, the driving of the elevation motor 3a is stopped.
- the contactor 15a of the initial height setting device 15 is moved upward, so that the distance between the marking member A and the surface of the workpiece C (the height of the nozzle block 6 from the workpiece C) is set to the initial height.
- the marking member A and the grinding-cleaning member B are both maintained at the height distant from the surface of the workpiece C, and the sensor 8 is not operated yet.
- the carriage 1 is moved while maintaining the state where the marking member A and the grinding-cleaning member B are distant from the surface of the workpiece C, and the grinding-cleaning member B is made to face the marking start position of the workpiece C. Subsequently, the lifting and lowering device 13 provided at the turning bracket 5f is operated to move the grinding-cleaning member B downward.
- the roller 12 attached to the nozzle 11a contacts the surface of the workpiece C with the downward movement of the grinding-cleaning member B, and compressed air having a pressure following the lifting and lowering movement of the roller 12 is supplied to the air cylinder constituting the lifting and lowering device 13.
- the sensors 8 disposed around the marking member A are operated after the grinding-cleaning member B is made to face the marking start position as described above.
- the sensors 8 detect a distance between the marking block 6 and the surface of the workpiece C, and transmit a signal to a control unit.
- sand is supplied to the nozzle 11a constituting the grinding-cleaning member B, and is sprayed toward the surface of the workpiece C, thereby grinding and cleaning the surface of the workpiece C.
- the sprayed sand is collected from the collection port 11c without being scattered to the outside.
- the carriage 1 is moved to be aligned with the marking line set in accordance with the desired process line with the operation of the grinding-cleaning member B, and the marking member A is operated with the movement of the carriage 1, thereby forming a marking line or a symbol on the surface of the workpiece C. That is, when liquid paint is continuously sprayed from one hole selected from the plurality of holes formed in the marking block 6 constituting the marking member A while the carriage 1 is moved to be aligned with the marking line, the marking line may be formed. Further, when liquid paint is intermittently sprayed from the plurality of holes formed in the marking block 6 while the carriage 1 is stopped, a symbol including a character or a numeral may be formed by a plurality of dots.
- the surface of the workpiece C is ground and cleaned, so that a base material may be exposed and a marking line or a symbol may be formed on the exposed surface.
- the grinding-cleaning member B is turned about the marking member A so that the direction of the line connecting the turning center 7 and the center line 10 follows the tangential direction of the curve, the desired marking line may be formed.
- the grinding-cleaning member may promptly follow the distortion of the workpiece C since the roller 12 attached to the nozzle 11a rotates while contacting the surface of the workpiece C at all times.
- the roller 12 constituting the secondary elevation member and the lifting and lowering device 13 pressing the roller 12 against the surface of the workpiece C are disposed at the turning bracket 5f integrally formed with the turning shaft 5a provided in the elevation bracket 2. Accordingly, the elevation speed of the grinding-cleaning member B using the secondary elevation member is obtained by combining the elevation speed of the lifting and lowering device 13 with the elevation speed of the primary elevation member using the elevation motor 3a, and is larger than the elevation speed of the primary elevation member. Then, when there is a difference in the elevation speed between the secondary elevation member and the primary elevation member, the grinding-cleaning member B controlled by the secondary elevation member to be moved upward or downward may be reliably prevented from colliding with the surface of the workpiece C.
- a marking nozzle 20 is used for the marking member A instead of the marking block 6 of the first embodiment, and the other configurations are the same as those of the first embodiment.
- the marking nozzle 20 has a structure similar to a gas cutting nozzle, a center hole is formed at the center thereof to spray metal powders, and a flame nozzle forming a plurality of flames is formed while surrounding the center hole. Further, the marking nozzle 20 is detachably attached to a torch 21 connected to an oxygen gas and fuel gas supply portion forming a flame or a metal powder supply portion (not shown).
- the surface of the workpiece C may be ground and cleaned by the grinding-cleaning member B to expose a surface of a base material. Then, at this time, a marking line formed of a thin line thermally sprayed from melted metal may be formed on the exposed surface by operating the marking nozzle 20.
- a sensor 8 and a lifting and lowering device 25 are used for a mechanism maintaining the height of the grinding-cleaning member B from the surface of the workpiece C to be substantially constant instead of the combination of the roller 12 and the lifting and lowering device 13, where the sensor 8 has the same function as that of the sensor 8 provided around the marking member A, and the lifting and lowering device 25 moves the grinding-cleaning member B and the sensor 8 upward or downward in response to the signal from the sensor 8.
- a plurality of the sensors 8 is attached to the bracket 8a fixed to the nozzle 11a constituting the grinding-cleaning member B, and each of the sensors 8 is configured to detect a distance from the sensor to the surface of the workpiece C and to generate a signal.
- the lifting and lowering device 25 includes a lifting and lowering motor 25a driven in response to a signal generated in accordance with the distance between the sensor and the workpiece C detected by the sensor 8, and the grinding-cleaning member B is attached to the lifting and lowering device 25.
- any one of the grinding-cleaning member B and the marking member A may detect a distance with respect to the workpiece C without contacting the workpiece.
- the grinding-cleaning member B is formed as a grinding device having an endless grinding belt instead of the above-described shot blasting unit.

Further, a rod of a lifting and lowering device 32b formed as an air cylinder is connected to a predetermined position of the bracket 32. The air cylinder constituting the lifting and lowering device 32b is attached to the turning bracket 5f.
- the pulley 33a is attached to the same shaft as that of the rotation shaft 32a of the bracket 32, and is connected to the drive motor 31 through a power transmission member, so that the pulley functions as a drive pulley. Further, the pulley 33b has a function of a tightener, and is configured to apply an appropriate tension to the grinding belt 34 by a biasing member (not shown). Furthermore, the pulley 33c is disposed at the lowermost position of the bracket 32, and has a function of pressing the grinding belt 34 wound thereon against the surface of the workpiece C.
- the bracket 32 when the rod of the air cylinder constituting the lifting and lowering device 32b is retracted, the bracket 32 is rotated in the clockwise direction about the rotation shaft 32a to move the pulley 33c away from the surface of the workpiece C. Further, when the rod is protruded, the bracket 32 is rotated in the counter-clockwise direction about the rotation shaft 32a to press the grinding belt 34 against the surface of the workpiece C with the pulley 33c interposed therebetween. Then, when the drive motor 31 is driven while the grinding belt 34 is pressed against the surface of the workpiece C, the surface of the workpiece C may be ground and cleaned.
