Definitions

  • This invention relates to roof covering systems, in particular systems using zinc or zinc alloy bins for standing seam crimping.
  • Such bins are normally attached to the roof support using fixed and sliding metal brackets.
  • the function of the fixed legs is to secure the standing seam tray to the support, which normally is wood or derived, by blocking the thermal expansion movements of the zinc.
  • the sliding lugs are designed to take up the zinc expansion movements induced by the temperature variations while securing the standing seam tray to the support.
  • the present invention relates to fixed tabs.
  • the existing fixed legs are for example represented in the rules of the art as described in France in DTU 40.41 (Unified Technical Documents) entitled "Covering metal elements in sheets and long sheets of zinc”.
  • These fastening lugs comprise two holes, with or without casing, in anyone or not, and are fixed with ribbed tips or wood screws with a diameter of 4 mm. They are normally installed along the joint, every 33 cm.
  • GB 2 422 383 A discloses a tab according to the preamble of claim 1. If the passage to a single large-diameter screw seems a priori interesting, it causes however a specific problem that must be resolved. Such a leg is mounted in effect by aligning it and hanging it along the tray to be fixed. But when tightening the single screw, a torque is transmitted to the leg, especially important that the diameter of the screw is large. Such screws are more often provided, under their heads, pins initially intended to mill and thus better penetrate the wood. These generate additional friction that further increase the torque transmitted to the leg during tightening. This couple will rotate the tab until one of its ends is on the tray to be fixed with sufficient blocking force. It turns out that this blocking force can deform the leg and the tray, things that we want to avoid.
  • the object of the present invention is a bracket using a single screw, so simpler and faster to install than conventional tabs.
  • This tab is specially designed to avoid deforming and deforming the tray to be fixed when tightening the single screw. It thus brings a greater security of implementation and better mechanical performance.
  • the Figure 1 illustrates the invention by a three-dimensional isometric view.
  • the Figure 2 represents a paw seen from above.
  • the invention particularly relates to a metal fastening lug made in one piece for immobilizing a standing seam tray on a wooden support or derivative, comprising a first surface (1) provided with a perforation (2) for receiving a screw fastening to the support, a second surface (3) generally perpendicular to said first surface comprising a hook (4) intended to cooperate with the bank of the tray to be immobilized, these two surfaces defining a stop (5) of length L, characterized in that said hook (4) and said first surface (1) extend from the second surface (3) in opposite directions and said first surface includes a single perforation (2) for accommodating a single screw, and in that the center (6) of said perforation (2) is off-center with respect to the mediator (7) of the ridge (5), in the direction reducing the effort reflected on the tab and on the tray by the torque induced during the tightening said screw.
  • This tab is more particularly characterized in that the center (6) of the perforation (2) is off-center by a distance D greater than 10%, and preferably greater than 10%. 25%, of L with respect to the mediator (7) of the edge (5), so as to reduce the effort reflected on the tab and on the tray by the torque induced during the tightening of said screw.
  • the off-center distance can be adjusted according to the intensity of the forces resulting from the tightening torque. This intensity varies essentially according to the size of the screw heads used.
  • the perforation (2) for accepting the fixing screw is preferably provided with a casing (11) whose opening angle is usefully greater than 100 °.
  • a sheet of stainless steel AISI 304 will preferably be used to make the part by stamping.
  • a thickness of 0.4 mm is adequate.
  • the new bracket is secured with a single 5mm or 6mm diameter screw. Such a screw no longer rises under the effects of vibrations induced by wind and dimensional variations of the supports. Its superior resistance to tearing allows to install the legs at a pitch of 75 cm maximum instead of 33 cm maximum.
  • the new leg significantly increases the comfort of installation by allowing both easier installation and significant time saving installation by reducing the number of legs and the number of fasteners. These legs are also particularly compact, without the use of superfluous metal.
