Definitions
- the invention relates to a above-ground hydrant.
- Such hydrants are connected to municipal networks, which are laid in the ground. But they are also considered in industrial plants and airports.
- a hydrant comprises a column which forms a flow channel and which is vertically embedded in the ground. Their lower end is connected to a pipeline of the network. Above the ground, it has at least one outlet. In general, several outlets are provided. There are often a number of outlets at a first geodesic altitude, and a second number of outlets at a second geodetic altitude above.
- the column can be subdivided into a column saucer and a column top.
- the subdivision can be idealistic or real; in the latter case, the column comprises two column sections, which are mounted with their ends to each other, for example by means of flanges.
- shut-off device At the bottom of the column, still in the ground, there is a shut-off device. This can be actuated from above the ground, for example by means of a socket wrench. In general, located between the input of the socket wrench and the obturator, a transmission; this deflects the torque applied by the socket wrench to the obturator.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to design a hydrant of the type described above such that at the highest possible throughput of the medium as low as possible energy loss is achieved.
- the inventors have recognized the following:
- the optimal flow through the open shut-off valve is of crucial importance. Only when the free cross-section permits an undisturbed flow do the measures provided for upstream according to the invention have an effect, in particular the partial constriction or constriction of the flow channel.
- the zeta value of the obturator in its open position is a critical factor that is critical to the success of the downstream features. There are then no turbulence in the flow generated, and thus no components are excited to vibrate, resulting in a loss of pressure would result. This also no turbulence In the following, geometrically optimized areas are introduced.
- the in FIG. 1 illustrated hydrant comprises a column 1 with a column base 1.1 and a column top 1.2.
- a plug 2 At the lower end of the column lower part is a plug 2 with a ball valve.
- the ball valve is mounted on a shaft - not shown here - which serves to rotate the ball valve.
- the ball chick is stored solely on the waves.
- the pillar base 1.1 is largely in the ground. It protrudes only slightly above the ground 3.
- the column top part 1.2 has lower and upper outlets 4 and 5. These two outlets 4 and 5 are each arranged at a certain geodetic height; the outlets 5 are located above the outlets 4.
- Each group of outlets 4 or 5 has several individual outlets, 2 of which are shown.
- the upper (downstream) located part of the column top 1.2 is tapered.
- the channel cross-section covered thereby tapers, so that a flow acceleration and thus a calming takes place.
- the decisive factor is the flow-optimized design of the outlets 4, 5.
- the transition from the respective column part to the relevant outlet is rounded. See the radius of curvature 6 to the lower outlet 4.
- the radius of curvature should be as large as possible. With a nominal diameter DN of 150 he should if possible also be 150 mm or larger. In general, the radius of curvature is equal to or greater than the nominal world.
- the angle of departure that is, the angle between the flow in the column and the partial flow exiting the outlet in question, will generally be 90 degrees. This has proven to be optimal. If it is greater than 90 degrees, this indeed has a positive effect on the flow losses, as they tend to become smaller. However, it is unfavorable for the stress of the hose to be connected. If it is less than 90 degrees, there is a significant deterioration of the flow resistance.
- the ratio of the radius of curvature to the nominal diameter DN should be at most equal to 0.8. From the mentioned ratio of radius of curvature to DN equal to or greater than 1 and from the ratio of radius of curvature to DN equal to 0.8, the corresponding value results at intermediate values between an outlet angle of 90 and greater than 90.
- the hydrant according to the embodiment of FIG. 2 again has two departure levels 4 and 5.
- the upper level is protected against unauthorized actuation by a fall jacket.
- Geometry optimization creates a uniform flow field without dead water areas.
- the Kv value is 980 m 3 / h at DN of 150.
- the total zeta value of the hydrant is about 0.72.
- the flow is not limited by the hydrant (above the obturator), but by the characteristics of the supply network. Here it is advisable to carry out a further analysis with the ball valve to determine its influence on the high mass flows.
- the Kv value was above 1500 m 3 / h at DN of 150.
- the zeta value of the hydrant is about 0.30.
- Kv value also referred to as flow value
- flow value is the flow rate in m 3 / h of water at the average temperature of 20 ° C, measured at a pressure drop of 1 bar and with the valve fully open.

Abstract
Description
- In
