Definitions
- the invention relates to a brake shoe for a brake system according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- a brake shoe with a friction lining warning device which has a plurality of electrical conductor loops in the region of the friction lining, which are destroyed and interrupted at a certain degree of wear, ie from a defined residual lining thickness.
- the interrupted conductor loops can be used in various ways for an indication of the friction lining wear.
- the contact points of the conductor loops of the brake disc can be ground freely, resulting in an electrical ground contact with the brake disc to close the circuit of the conductor loop.
- EP 0754 875 A1 is already known a brake shoe of the generic type, with multiple conductor loops for a wear indicator, which are electrically connected to a control unit.
- the control unit detects a broken or possibly closed circuit when the conductor loops no longer conduct or possibly conduct.
- the signal derived therefrom is used to make conclusions about the state of wear of the friction lining, and if necessary to pass it on to the driver of the motor vehicle.
- a relatively accurate determination of the state of wear of the brake pad can be made with the help of algorithms provided.
- a generic brake shoe goes out, for example WO-A-2006/1127 84 out. It is the object of the invention to provide a with respect to the detection of the wear condition improved brake shoe as well as a brake wear monitoring system and a method for operating a brake wear monitoring system, which also should be given good technical conditions for the identification of a brake shoe.
- a passive transponder is provided on the brake lining, which enables signal processing by means of a wireless transmission technology by means of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology.
- RFID Radio Frequency Identification
- the transponder has an RFID microchip, which is attached to the back plate of the brake shoe or to the damping plate connected to the back plate with little effort, in a manner which is not particularly burdensome.
- a non-erasable identification code specified for each brake shoe type is preferably stored on the RFID microchip. This has the advantage that the brake shoes are clearly identifiable in trade / shipping / distribution, without an optical method is used. As a result, packaged brake shoes can be tracked logistically very easily, with the previously printed on the back plate, glued or embossed identification ciphers (product number, o. ⁇ .) Are no longer required.
- a passive transponder eliminates the need for arranging a battery in the vicinity of the fixed on the brake shoe transponder, since using a arranged on the vehicle body transceiver unit and an antenna coil, preferably a flat coil in the transponder, a changing high frequency field can be induced can, which is available as an electrical energy source and as a data carrier to provide the present on the RFID microchip data of the transceiver unit.
- the transceiver unit arranged on the vehicle body is connected to a control unit in order to activate the transponder and to be able to receive and evaluate the data signals of the transponder, preferably the identification code of the brake shoe and its state.
- the identification of the brake shoe by means of transponder technology thus has the advantage that at any time the brake shoe built into the vehicle brake system can be precisely and easily identified and also analyzed with regard to the state of wear.
- the required display can usually be made visually and acoustically well visible to the driver as desired or required.
- FIG. 1 From the FIG. 1 goes the back of a brake shoe 1 with a view of a transponder 2, a coil circuit 3 and a wear pill 9.
- the transponder 2 On the brake shoe 1, the transponder 2 is mounted directly on the back plate 10, the coil circuit 3 is connected to a conductor loop 4, which is enclosed in a wear pill 9, which extends in sections in the region of the associated with the back plate 10 friction lining 5.
- a heat-sensitive fuse component 8 is integrated, which is designed such that this is destroyed above a certain limit temperature.
- the driver can be detected by means of a suitable acoustic and / or visual display (see display device 13 in FIG. 2 ) and asked to replace the brake shoe set.
- FIG. 2 shows a side view of in FIG. 1 illustrated brake shoe 1 in conjunction with a device connected to a control unit 11 transmitting-receiving unit 6, which communicates by means of wireless data transmission technology with the transponder 2 to retrieve both the identification code, the wear and / or overload condition of the brake shoe 1 and evaluate can. Possible details of the associated with the controller 11 display device 13 will not be discussed at this point.
- the missing signal 7 of the transponder 2 can be used for wear determination according to today's model, with the difference that for the wear indicator no cable and plug connection between the brake shoe 1 and the periphery is necessary.
- FIG. 3 shows a further embodiment of the invention with a view of the back of a brake shoe 1, which carries on the back plate 10, a damping plate 12 on which a transponder 2 is fixed.
- the arrangement of the transponder 2 on the damping plate 12 is advantageous for minimizing the thermal load of the transponder 2, in principle, if desired or need more special insulation between the transponder 2 and the brake shoe 1 can be arranged to the temperature effect on the transponder 2 low hold.
- FIG. 4 shows the brake shoe 1 after FIG. 3 in a side view to illustrate the arranged in a wear pill two conductor loops 4, which are arranged in series in the wear pill 9.
- the conductor loops 4 are interrupted in succession as the wear V 1 , V 2 progresses, as a result of which the signal of the transponder 2 changes in such a way that a more accurate determination of the friction lining wear becomes possible.
- the arrangement of two on the brake shoe 1 advantageously integrated transponder 2, so that each conductor loop 4 is separately connected to one of the two transponders 2.
- the back plate 10 preferably has a recess or a projection in order to ensure better fixation for better application of the transponder 2, in particular by applying the adhesive technique.
- the transponder 2 can be fastened to the back plate 10 together with the damping plate 12 by suitable forming means, preferably by riveting.
- a moisture-sensitive additional component may be provided on the RFID microchip of the transponder 2, which interrupts / changes the signal or a partial signal of the microchip, so that the moisture influence that reduces the braking power is reliably detected and, if necessary, by suitable additional brake functions (for example, by brief application of the brake shoes to the brake disc for wiping the water film) can be reduced.
- FIG. 5 shows an example according to the prior art, wherein the transponder 2 is embedded directly in the friction lining.
- the so embedded in the friction material and pressed with the friction lining 5 transponder 2 requires no cable or contact routing by means of conductor loops and
- the transponder 2 is embedded away from the back plate 10 at a distance A of the minimum allowable friction lining thickness in the friction lining 5, so that when reaching the minimum friction lining thickness of the transponder 2 is grinded, his signal mutes and thus the control unit 11 detects the worn friction lining 5 , If desired or required, a plurality of transponders 2 can be embedded in different depths of the friction lining 5 to detect different friction lining thicknesses, which are successively destroyed, as a result of which the state of wear can be successively displayed by the control device 11.
- the precise positioning of the transponder 2 at a distance A from the back plate 10 is preferably achieved in that the transponder 2 comprises a spacer which has a thickness in the region of the minimum friction lining thickness.
- the transponder 2 is arranged in an edge region of the friction lining 5. Also, the transponder 2 with a hole o. ⁇ . Be provided so that the lining mass passes through the transponder 2, whereby the cohesion of the friction lining 5 is only slightly affected.
- a data exchange with the transponder 2 takes place, which includes a type and / or wear-specific identification code for the brake shoe 1, wherein by means of an evaluation circuit, a balance by the send Receive unit 6 received transponder data with the stored in the control unit 11 target data, so that either a deviation of the received transponder data from the desired data or in case of failure of data exchange by means of the display device 13, an optical and / or audible warning signal are initiated can.
- a wear model for the brake shoe 1 can be created.
- the signal transmission between the transceiver unit 6 and transponder 2 includes in each case an identification code that provides information about the built-in brake system brake shoes 1 and its state. If several conductor loops 4 are connected to one or more transponders 2 or alternatively several transponders 2 are embedded in different depths of the friction lining 5 by friction lining wear, the further wear of each brake shoe 1 can be predicted quite accurately by means of the control device 11.
- control unit 11 After each replacement of a brake shoe set, the control unit 11 again calibrates using the identification codes of the new brake shoes 1. This individual calibration process contributes to the fact that no disturbances occur on the road with other brake wear monitoring systems of the same design.
