Definitions

  • the invention relates to a device for covering a tubular film over a stack of goods.
  • the invention also relates to a method for covering a tubular film over a stack of goods.
  • Stack of goods means in particular a plurality of packs, packets, sacks or similar units that are conveniently stacked to form a cuboid stack of goods. It is within the scope of the invention for the stack of goods to be placed on a pallet.
  • This stack of goods is covered with a tubular film or with a film hood in order to give the stack of goods greater stability on the one hand and to protect the stack of goods from the effects of the weather on the other hand.
  • the stack of goods can also be a few stacked units or a single larger unit, for example from the white goods sector (washing machines, refrigerators, dishwashers and the like).
  • the stack of goods preferably has a cuboid shape.
  • the stack of goods does not necessarily have to have this cuboid shape, but can in principle also have other shapes.
  • the tubular film is supplied from a tubular film supply and the tubular film is opened over the stack of goods and gathered in the vertical direction. This is then usually followed by transverse stretching of the gathered tubular film in the horizontal direction. The transverse stretching is carried out with the proviso that the cross section or horizontal cross section of the transversely stretched tubular film is larger than the cross section or horizontal cross section of the stack of goods. The tubular film is then drawn over the stack of goods and gathered up again in the process.
  • a device of the type mentioned, from which the invention is based, is made DE 90 01 321 U1 known.
  • a device for covering stretch film hoods over a stack of goods is described here, the lower edge of the stretch film hood being folded over shortly before the end of the covering process, so that the stretch film hood is doubled in its lower edge area. With this device, a stabilization of the stack of goods on a pallet is only possible in the lower area adjacent to the pallet.
  • Out of EP 2 036 818 is a device known under Article 54(3) EPC.
  • the invention is based on the technical problem of specifying a device of the type mentioned at the outset with which an improved, effective securing of the load can be implemented. Furthermore, the invention is based on the technical problem of specifying a corresponding method for covering a tubular film over a stack of goods.
  • the invention teaches a device according to patent claim 1 or according to patent claim 2.
  • the tubular film consists of an elastic plastic.
  • the side edges of the tubular film are expediently folded inward when in storage (tubular film stock).
  • the tubular film can be pulled tautly over the stack of objects, so that it rests tautly and form-fittingly on the side walls of the stack of objects, in particular due to elastic restoring forces.
  • the tubular film can also be pulled loosely over the stack of goods.
  • the tubular film is a shrink film that is shrunk onto the stack of goods.
  • the tubular film is in the pulled-on state as a film hood.
  • the tubular film separated from the tubular film supply is expediently welded off with a welding device, so that it is closed on the upper side or on the upper side of the stack of goods.
  • the tubular film pulled over the stack of goods can also be open at the top and bottom.
  • the film strip consists of a plastic or a thermoplastic material. It is also within the scope of the invention for the film strip to be applied to the stack of goods, at least in certain areas, with the tubular film being interposed. The film strip then lies with its underside on the stacked goods side at least in regions on the tubular film. The film strip expediently rests on the tubular film with at least 30%, preferably with at least 40% and preferably with at least 50% of the area of its underside on the stacked goods side. According to a recommended embodiment of the invention, at least 60%, preferably at least 70% and preferably at least 80% of the surface of its underside on the stacked goods side of the film strip rests on the tubular film.
  • the film strip is expediently in contact with the stack of goods or with the tubular film arranged on the stack of goods in a form-fitting and/or force-fitting manner.
  • the film strip is preferably applied to the stack of goods or to the tubular film arranged on the stack of goods under the action of elastic restoring forces and/or is shrunk onto the stack of goods or to the tubular film lying on the stack of goods.
  • the film strip has a shorter length than the tubular film and thus surrounds the stack of items as a strip of film, so to speak.
  • the film strip has the same length or essentially the same length as the tubular film and then completely or essentially completely surrounds the side walls of the stack of goods. The invention is based on the finding that the additional film strip achieves an additional effective safeguarding of the stack of objects or of the tubular film pulled over the stack of objects.
  • the film strip is a tubular film section that can be pulled over the stack of items covered with the tubular film. It is within the scope of the invention that the tubular film section is opened in front of the stack of goods and pulled over the stack of goods. According to a recommended embodiment variant, the tubular film section pulled over the stack of goods is designed to be open at the top and bottom. It is within the scope of the invention that the tubular film section has a shorter length than the tubular film and thus surrounds the stack of items as a strip of film, so to speak.
