Abstract

The procedure, especially for use with a cooker hob having a number of separate heaters beneath its surface actuated by detectors when a vessel is placed on the hob, consists of a series of stages, including detection of the vessel, seeking a new heating zone that covers the base of the vessel and calculating the power requirement for heating the vessel. A movement of the vessel from one part of the hob to another is also detected and a recalculation of the power requirement is made.
