Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a fastening device for fixing a fluid dispenser member, such as a pump or a valve, on a neck of a fluid reservoir.
  • the fixing device comprises a fixing ring and an outer trim ring.
  • the ring comprises a receiving housing adapted to receive the pump or the valve and fixing means for holding the ring on the reservoir.
  • the present invention applies more particularly to the fields of perfumery, cosmetics or pharmaceuticals, where pumps and finger-operated manual valves are frequently used to dispense doses of fluid product under form sprayed or not.
  • the fixing ring is made of a molded plastic material while the trim ring is made of metal for aesthetic reasons.
  • the ring which incorporates the fastening means must be elastically deformable to allow its mounting on the neck of the container. This elastic deformation is carried out radially outwardly so that the diameter of the ring at the fastening means undergoes a temporary increase.
  • a typical tank neck includes a thickened outer edge that forms a lower shoulder downwardly. It is this shoulder that will serve as a fixing zone for the fixing means of the ring.
  • the fastening means may be in the form of a continuous bead or several discrete lugs which project radially inwards.
  • the fastening means to gain their final fixing position under the shoulder of the neck, must first pass over the thickened edge. This naturally causes a radial deformation towards the outside of the ring at the level of the latching means.
  • Such a fixing ring alone ensures the stable holding of the dispensing member on the neck of the tank.
  • the trim band does not intervene or participate in fixing the ring on the neck.
  • the trim band then fulfills only an aesthetic function.
  • the fastening means of the ring may also be called snap-fastening means, since they are in the form of protruding profiles outwardly intended to be housed in a housing defined by the lower shoulder of the neck.
  • the mounting of such a fixing device is carried out in two steps.
  • the fixing ring is mounted on the neck of the tank.
  • the trim band is mounted on the fixing ring.
  • the document WO 99/20401 describes another operating procedure for mounting such a fixing device.
  • the fixing ring described forms external recesses at the fastening means.
  • a free intermediate space is defined between the outer wall of the ring at the fastening means and the inner wall of the trim ring. This free intermediate space will serve as a clearance space for the fixing ring during its radial deformation to the outside.
  • the recesses formed at the outer wall of the ring do not extend over the entire height of the ring, but only on its lower part.
  • the hoop is in contact with the ring between each recess.
  • the holding of the hoop on the ring is exclusively provided by radial clamping.
  • the inner wall of the hoop is in tight contact with the outer wall of the ring.
  • the shape of the hoop is therefore imposed by the shape of the ring.
  • this design requires very low manufacturing tolerances, since the hoop must be mounted on the ring with sufficient radial clamping to ensure the locking in axial translation and rotation of the hoop on the ring. Tightening too much generates local deformations of the hoop.
  • the present invention aims to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art by defining another fixing device allowing a effective and definitive pre-assembly of the hoop on the ring while guaranteeing a great freedom of shape of the hoop.
  • the present invention provides a fixing device according to claim 1 for attaching a fluid dispenser member, such as a pump or a valve, to an opening of a fluid reservoir.
  • a fluid dispenser member such as a pump or a valve
  • the hoop does not need to surround the ring by tightening it radially from the outside, which allows the hoop to be made with shapes that are independent of that of the ring.
  • the sleeve comprises an inner wall and an outer wall, the fixing means are formed at the inner wall, the intermediate space being formed between the outer wall of the sleeve and the hoop, the hoop being engaged with the inner wall of the socket.
  • the inner wall is formed with several holding profiles intended to engage the hoop.
  • the hoop then comes into tight contact at the level of the holding profiles which can be distributed regularly angularly.
  • the holding profiles can be deformed by the hoop.
  • the hoop can even be slightly deformed by the holding profiles, without affecting the aesthetics of the hoop, since the hoop is not visible where it comes into engagement with the inner wall of the sleeve.
  • the ferrule comes into annular continuous contact with the inner wall of the sleeve or the ring.
  • the ring comprises an annular radial plate which connects the socket to the receiving housing, the socket thus defining an upper bushing section extending above the tray and a lower bushing section extending in below the plate, the fixing means being formed at the lower section and the holding profiles being formed at the upper section.
  • the hoop comprises an upper end and a lower end, the upper end forming a flap extending axially downwards from the inner periphery of the flange.
  • the upper end of the hoop comprises an annular flange that extends substantially radially inward, the flap extending axially downwardly from the inner periphery of the flange.
  • the flap is in the form of a lapel or an inward hemming.
  • the flap can extend concentrically inside the body of the hoop.
  • the flap may have a cylindrical configuration.
  • the hoop can come to bear on the upper end of the sleeve with its annular rim. Fixing the flap inside the ring can be provided by many fastening techniques. One can provide a simple clamping, or a snap, a harpooning or anchoring by material interference.
  • the hoop is also engaged with the ring at its lower end.
  • the lower end of the hoop comprises hooking means adapted to engage under an edge of the ring.
  • These attachment means may be in the form of latching means comprising a detent profile intended to be housed under the lower end of the ring.
  • the hoop is locked in axial translation at its two ends.
  • the hoop is blocked radially by the flap which engages inside the ring. Therefore, it is possible that the band is out of contact with the ring over its entire height, except for its two ends. Space Free intermediate can thus extend axially continuously between the flap and the attachment means of the hoop.
  • the sleeve of the ring forms a ring outwardly below the fixing means.
  • the shoulder allows to deport the lower end of the ring to the outside to facilitate the creation of the free intermediate space allowing the momentary local expansion of the ring during its mounting on the neck of a tank.
  • the present invention provides a fixing of the hoop inside the ring using a retractable flap advantageously provided at the upper end of the ring. fret.
  • a retractable flap advantageously provided at the upper end of the ring. fret.
  • the present invention also defines a fluid dispenser comprising a fluid reservoir provided with a neck, a dispensing member such as a pump or a valve and a fixing device as defined above for fixing the organ distribution on the neck of the tank.
  • the fixing device of the The present invention comprises two constituent elements, namely a fixing ring 4 and an outer trim ring 5.
  • the fixing ring 4 may advantageously be made of plastic material by an injection / molding process.
  • the hoop it can also be made of plastic, but preferably, it is made of metal.
  • the hoop 5 serves to cover the fixing ring at least partially, and preferably entirely.
  • the fixing ring 4 is thus completely masked by the hoop.
  • the fret has a neat finished look: that's why it is often made of metal.
  • the ring 4 and the hoop 5 are thus made separately and then assembled so as to form a unitary assembly.
  • Mounting the hoop on the ring can be done before mounting the ring on a container neck. None prevents however to mount the band on the ring while the latter is already mounted on a container neck. In this case, the hoop 5 has only an aesthetic function and does not participate in fixing the ring on the container neck.
  • the fixing device of the invention is shown in association with a container 1, a dispensing member 2, a pusher 3 and a protective cover 6.
  • the tank 1 can be made of any material, such as glass or plastic. Only the upper part of the tank 1 was represented on the figure 1 .
  • the reservoir here comprises a neck 11 which protrudes from a shoulder 15 which surmounts a flange 16.
  • the neck 11 is made conventionally with a thickened edge or reinforcement 12 which protrudes radially outwards so as to define a lower shoulder 14 which is directed downwards.
  • the neck 11 defines an annular edge 13.
  • the lower shoulder 14 serves to serve as a fixing surface for the fixing ring 4.
  • the clamping of the ring on the neck is formed between this shoulder 14 and the upper edge 13. It is also possible to define the neck 11 as forming a fixing or snap-fitting housing defined below the shoulder 14.
  • the dispensing member 2 may be a pump or a valve. In this case, it is a pump.
  • This pump comprises a body 21 defining at its upper end a fastening flange 22.
  • the pump also comprises an actuating rod 23 which projects axially upwards out of the body 21.
  • the actuating rod 23 is axially displaceable in FIG. back and forth inside the body 21.
  • the free end of the actuating rod 23 is capped by a pusher 3 which defines a bearing surface 31 on which the user can press using one or more fingers to move the pusher and the actuating rod.
  • the pusher also defines a dispensing orifice 32 which may be a nozzle.
  • the internal structure of the dispenser member will not be described here because it is not critical to the present invention.
  • the fastening device formed by the ring 4 and the hoop 5 has the function of fixedly and sealingly holding the dispensing member on the tank 1.
  • This sealing fastening is here ensured only by the ring 4.
  • the ring 4 comprises a receiving housing 47 in which is received the protruding flange 22 of the body 21 of the dispensing member 2.
  • the projecting flange 22 may for example be held snap-fitting inside the receiving housing 47. also consider other fixation techniques, such as spearing or crimping.
  • the housing 47 is of course formed with a central passage hole to allow the body 21 to extend through the housing 47. In the embodiment shown in FIG.
  • the ring 4 also comprises a self-sealing sleeve 49 which extends here in the extension of the housing 47 downwards.
  • This sleeve 49 has the function of being inserted inside the neck 11 of the tank to achieve a seal.
  • the ring 4 comprises an annular plate 48 which extends radially outwardly from the housing 47 and the sleeve 49. It can be considered here that the plate 48 extends between the housing 47 and the 49.
  • the plate 48 has the function of resting on the upper edge 13 of the neck 11.
  • the plate 48 is pierced with several passage windows 482 whose function will be given below.
  • the ring 4 also includes a socket external 41 which is connected to the outer periphery of the plate 48.
  • the sleeve 41 comprises an outer wall 411 and an inner wall 412.
  • the plate 48 connects to the sleeve 41 at its inner wall 412.
  • This wall 412 is turned radially inwardly facing the receiving housing 47 and the self-sealing sleeve 49.
  • An upper space is thus formed between the inner wall 412, the plate 48 and the housing 47.
  • Another lower space is formed between the wall 412 , the plate 48 and the sleeve 49.
  • This lower space is further defined or partially closed by fastening means 42 which are formed at the inner wall 412 of the sleeve 41.
  • These fixing means 42 are in the form of profiles that protrude radially inward. In the embodiment shown, there are four attachment profiles.
  • the fastening profiles 42 are here configured with a gentle slope and a sharp edge in order to favor the insertion of the projecting annular reinforcement 12 of the fastening collar and its definitive firm support.
  • the collar comes into contact with the ring at different points.
  • the upper edge 13 of the neck abuts against the plate 48.
  • the inner wall of the neck comes into contact with the self-sealing sleeve 49.
  • the inner wall 412 of the sleeve 41 comes into contact with the annular reinforcement 12.
  • the lower shoulder 14 comes into pressed contact with the attachment profiles 42 of the sleeve 41.
  • the neck is held perfectly stable and permanent in the ring 4.
  • the sleeve 41 must deform radially outwardly to allow the attachment profiles 42 to gain their final position below the shoulder 14 of the neck. Indeed, it is necessary that the profiles 42 pass over the annular reinforcement 12 of the neck which has a diameter of course greater than that of the shoulder 14. In other words, the outer diameter of the sleeve will increase momentarily during the passage of fixing means above the annular reinforcement 12. Once the reinforcement 12 passed, the socket resumes its configuration normal, as shown on the figure 1 . A very slight deformation may remain: it will indeed make it possible to ensure perfect stability of the neck inside the ring.
  • the ring 4 which is shown in detail on the FIGS. 2a, 2b, 3, 4a and 4b , also defines an upper end 413 and a lower end 414.
  • the sleeve comprises a first cylindrical section at which are formed the fastening means 42 and the junction between the plate and the sleeve.
  • the receiving housing 47 and the self-sealing sleeve 49 are concentrically disposed within this cylindrical portion. At its lower end, this cylindrical portion extends radially outwardly by an annular ring 44.
  • This ring 44 then extends downwardly to form the lower end 414 of the sleeve.
  • the crown 44 thus forms a step towards the outside.
  • the sleeve 41 thus has a stepped configuration.
  • the inner wall 412 of the bushing is furthermore formed with holding profiles 43 which protrude radially inwards from the wall 412.
  • These holding profiles 43 are formed in the level of the upper portion of the sleeve located above the plate 48.
  • the holding profiles 43 are here formed in the form of vertical longitudinal ribs which extend from the upper end 413 of the sleeve to the plate 48. Instead of these vertical ribs 43, it is also possible to provide more complex profiles forming, for example, snap-fastening or harpoon holding housings.
  • the wall 412 is devoid of any holding profile. In this case, it can for example be provided that the wall thickness of the sleeve at this level is thickened over its entire periphery.
  • the ribs 43 are offset angularly with respect to the windows 482. It may also be noted that the windows 482 are located vertically above the fastening means 42. The function of the windows 482 is to allow the molding of the upper part of the means fixing 42 by passing a pin through the window 482.
  • the sleeve 41 comprises an upper bushing section 41s located above the plate 48 and a lower bushing section 41i extending below the plate 48.
  • the fastening means 42 are located at the lower bushing section 41 while the holding profiles 43 are located at the upper bushing section 41s.
  • the ring 44 is also formed at the lower socket section 41 i.
  • the hoop 5 comprises a cylindrical main section 51, a reentrant upper flange 52, an inner flap 53 and an outer shoulder 54.
  • the main section 51 surrounds the main section of the bushing 41.
  • the inward flange 52 extends over the upper end 413 of the sleeve.
  • the inner flap 53 extends inside the bushing and engages with the inner wall 412. Specifically, the flap 53 engages with the ribs 43.
  • Fastening can be done by simple tightening, snap-fastening, spearing or interference of materials.
  • the flap 53 forms one or more adapted snap or harpoon head (s) to engage in corresponding housings formed at the inner wall 412 of the socket.
  • the inner wall 412 is formed with holding profiles 43.
  • the flap 53 is formed with teeth coming to bite in the inner wall 412 or in the tray 48.
  • the fastening principle of the invention lies in the fact of making the attachment not outside the sleeve but to the inside the socket. It is thus no longer necessary to perform a tightening at the outer wall 411 of the sleeve.
  • the main section 51 1 of the hoop can then be spaced from the outer wall 411 of the bushing so as to form a free annular free space E.
  • This space E will serve as a clearance space for the deformation of the bush 41 during the passage of the fixing means 42 above the thickened reinforcement 12 of the neck 11. It can be seen on the figure 1 that this space E extends over the entire height of the main section 51 of the fret.
  • the re-entrant flange 42 is not even forced to come into contact with the upper end 413 of the bushing 41. Indeed, it may be noted that the shoulder 54 comes into contact with the ring 44 of the bushing.
  • the lower end of the hoop is made with hooking means 55 which allow attachment under an edge of the ring which is formed here by its lower end 414.
  • the attachment means 55 comprise a profile which protrudes radially inwards. This profile is here made by hemming the lower part of the hoop inwards. It is also possible to make other forms of fastening means as will be seen below.
  • the hoop 5 is mounted in a perfectly stable and permanent manner on the ring 4 without making radial clamping at the outer wall of the sleeve 41.
  • the engagement of the flap 53 in the sleeve 41 ensures a radial stability of the hoop , and can also contribute to its locking in rotation.
  • this ensures axial stability. It may be noted that the hoop 5 comes into contact with the ring only at the level of the flap 53, the shoulder 54 and the attachment means 55.
  • the ring 44 of the ring comes to rest on the shoulder 15 of the neck.
  • the protective cover 6 caps the assembly by engaging with its lower edge 62 in an annular groove formed by the hoop. The cover 6 is thus held on the hoop by a slight snap.
  • the cover 6 may advantageously extend in the extension of the tank body.
  • the ring 4 may be identical to that of the first embodiment.
  • the hoop 5 ' it differs from the hoop 5 of the first embodiment in that the shoulder 54' is detached from the ring 44.
  • the attachment means 55 ' are not made by hemming, but by repoussage material inwardly so as to form a barb of material which projects inwards and upwards and which is intended to engage under an edge of the ring, for example constituted by its lower end.
  • the free intermediate space E is larger than in the first embodiment, which makes it possible to implement fixing means which use a more pronounced deformation of the sleeve for passage over the neck.
  • Fixing the flap 53 inside the socket can be achieved by means of retaining profiles 43 like those of the first embodiment, or by any other means, such as snap-fastening, spearing or interference of materials.
  • the ring 4 "is somewhat different from that of the first two embodiments in that the ring 44 is reduced and the lower end 414 is perfectly cylindrical.
  • the ring 5" is also different from the two previous ones in that the flap 53 is longer and extends to contact the plate 48.
  • the hooking means 55 'of the hoop on the lower end 414 of the ring are simply provided by a radial clamping .
  • the free space E extends from the ring 44 to the flange 52.
  • an external radial clamping is used at the outer wall of the socket.
  • this radial clamping is limited to the lower part of the sleeve which is located below the fastening means 42, so that they can move freely towards the outside by deformation of the sleeve in the space E.
  • the hoop engages an inner wall of the ring which is oriented radially inwardly, that is to say toward the axis of symmetry of the ring.
  • This inner wall is here formed by the sleeve 41, but it can also be provided that this inner wall is formed by another element or part of the ring.
  • Fixing the hoop on the ring at an inner wall of the latter is particularly advantageous because we have not no need to worry about the possible deformation of the hoop at the level where it comes into engagement with the inner wall of the ring, since this part of the hoop is not visible to the user.
  • This internal and non-visible engagement makes it possible to detach the hoop from the outer wall of the ring so as to create a sufficient or oversized space E, which will serve to deflect the fixing means 42.
