Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a fastening device for fixing a dispensing member, such as a pump or a valve, on a container neck.
  • the invention also relates to a fluid dispenser comprising a container, a dispensing member such as a pump or a valve, and a fixing device according to the invention.
  • a fluid dispenser comprising a container, a dispensing member such as a pump or a valve, and a fixing device according to the invention.
  • fixing device which holds the pump or the valve, and which is provided with fixing means on the opening of the container.
  • fastening means may use various techniques, such as screwing, crimping, gluing or latching or latching techniques.
  • a well-known embodiment for a fixing description uses a fixing ring comprising the fastening means on the neck of the container and a trim band engaged axially up and down around the ring.
  • the trim band comprises hooking means cooperating with abutment means formed by the ring to define together means for axially retaining the band on the ring.
  • the document EP 1 270 434 discloses a fastener of this type in which the lower end of the hoop is hemmed inwardly so as to define an upwardly directed internal shoulder. This internal shoulder is intended to engage below the fixing ring which forms at this location stop means.
  • the axial retaining means of the hoop on the ring are therefore defined by the internal shoulder of the hemmed end of the hoop in cooperation with the lower end of the ring, or more precisely the end edge of the fixing ring.
  • the inner shoulder of the hoop is perfectly annular, so as to define a circle that extends in a single plane. It is the same for the lower end of the fixing ring, which also defines a circle extending in a single plane.
  • the engagement of the internal shoulder just below the lower end of the ring defines a single axial position of locking the hoop on the ring.
  • the disadvantage with the document fixing device EP 1 270 434 is that there is no freedom or modularity in the axial positioning of the hoop relative to the ring. Indeed, it is sometimes useful to be able to arrange the hoop axially relative to the ring depending on the configuration of the container on which the fastening device is to be mounted. More specifically, the hoop must generally come with its lower end resting on the container, so as to create a kind of continuity between the container and the fixing device. Consequently, it is sometimes necessary to depress the ring more or less on the ring, which amounts to modifying the axial position of the band on the ring.
  • the object of the present invention is to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art by defining a fixing device whose cladding band may be arranged and locked axially with respect to the ring at different offset axial positions.
  • the present invention provides a fastening device for fixing a dispensing member, such as a pump or a valve, on a container neck, the device comprising a fixing ring comprising fastening means on the neck. container and stop means, and a trim band engaged axially from top to bottom around the ring, the ring comprising fastening means cooperating with the stop means for together defining means for axially retaining the band on the ring, characterized in that the retaining means comprise a plurality of mutual engagement elements defining axial engagement positions separate from the band on the ring.
  • the trim band is still attached to the ring, but this attachment can be done in different axially offset locations.
  • the mutual engagement elements allowing the axial offset of the attachment can be formed either by the hoop or by the ring, or both at once.
  • the hoop comprises an upper end and a lower end intended to bear against the container, the attachment means being formed by an internal shoulder oriented upwards and advantageously defined near the end. lower.
  • the internal shoulder is formed by a hemming of the hoop inwardly at its lower end.
  • the abutment means comprise at least one abutment zone oriented downwards.
  • the fixing ring comprises a substantially cylindrical skirt engaged around the neck, the skirt defining an outer wall comprising a plurality of axially offset abutment zones.
  • the stop zones are formed by the downwardly directed lower ends of axial longitudinal ribs which extend vertically projecting radially from the outer wall of the skirt, the lower ends of the ribs being located at axially offset.
  • the shoulder of the hoop has a crenellated profile defining axially offset gripping elements.
  • the castellated profile defines slots of different heights and / or depths.
  • the two embodiments can be implemented cumulatively in one and the same fastening device. However, it is best to implement them separately. It may also be noted that the axially offset gripping elements, whether formed by the hoop or by the ring, do not give rise to any difficulties of production or manufacture, with respect to the device for fixing the document EP-1 270 434 . Indeed, the alzration of the hemmed portion of the hoop is very easy to achieve. As for the molding of the ribs on the skirt, it does not cause any technical difficulty.
  • the ring comprises a protruding preassembly flange with which the fastening means of the hoop come into engagement in the pre-assembled position.
  • the pre-assembly position in which the hoop is not completely engaged on the ring, is useful in particular during transport, storage and handling of the fixing device.
  • this protruding flange makes it possible to maintain the hoop on the ring so that they together form only one unmountable unit.
  • the ring and the hoop can be manipulated as if it were only one piece.
  • the already pre-assembled cover band can be pressed axially up and down on the ring to lock it engaged around the neck.
  • the invention also defines a fluid dispenser comprising a container, a dispensing member such as a pump or a valve and a fixing device as defined above.
  • the fixing device according to the invention is associated with a dispensing member, in this case a pump 4.
  • a valve can very well be implemented in place of the pump.
  • the fixing device associated with the pump is mounted on a container 3 which defines an opening, advantageously in the form of a neck 31.
  • the neck 31 extends upwards from the body of the container, which forms in its upper part a shoulder 35.
  • the neck 31 thus projects from this shoulder 35.
  • the neck 31 comprises an outer peripheral reinforcement forming a flange 32 facing downwards.
  • This flange 32 serves conventionally to the fastening of the fixing device, as will be seen below.
  • the neck 31 also comprises an upper annular edge 33 and an inner wall 34 which defines the opening of the container.
  • This container may be made of any suitable material, such as glass, plastic or metal.
  • the dispensing member designated as a whole by the reference numeral 4, comprises a body 41 provided with a retaining flange 42 at its upper end.
  • the distribution member 4 comprises also an actuating rod 43 which is movable back and forth against a return spring inside the body 41. This is a quite conventional design for a pump or a pump. valve in the fields of pharmacy, perfumery, or cosmetics.
  • the fixing device serves to fix or hold the dispensing member 4 in the opening of the neck 31, with the actuating rod 43 projecting upwards from the neck. Once in place, the dispensing member receives a dispensing head which is mounted on the free upper end of the actuating rod 43, but this is not shown.
  • the dispensing member 4 may also be provided with a dip tube which extends inside the container 3 to collect the fluid.
  • the fixing device comprises two constituent elements, namely a fixing ring 1 and a covering band 2.
  • the fixing ring 1 comprises a substantially cylindrical peripheral skirt 11 which is internally provided with fastening means 12 which can be in the form of a continuous snap-on bead or heads. punctual clipping.
  • the fastening means 12 protrude radially inwardly from the inner wall of the skirt 11.
  • the fastening means 12 are intended to engage below the rim 32 formed by the neck 31 of the container 3, as can be seen in FIG. can see it very clearly on the figures 1 and 6 .
  • the skirt 11 is continuous, so that the fastening means 12 may be in the form of a continuous inner annular bead.
  • the skirt 11 is discontinuous and is then in the form of skirt segments separated by vertical longitudinal slots 111.
  • the skirt 11 extends downwardly from an annular plate 15 which serves to compress a neck seal 5 on the upper annular end 33 of the neck.
  • the crushing of the gasket 5 is obtained by the traction exerted by the skirt 11, the fastening means 12 of which are forced to be housed under the flange 32.
  • This is also a quite conventional design for a bushing. fixation in the fields of cosmetics, perfumery or pharmacy.
  • the fixing ring forms a receiving housing 17 in which is received the flange 42 formed by the body 41 of the dispensing member 4.
  • the flange 42 may for example be received by latching.
  • the detent housing 17 also forms a central passage 18 through which the actuating rod 43 extends.
  • This general design of fixing ring is common to both embodiments. It allows a stable maintenance of the dispensing member 4, an effective situation on the neck 31.
  • the attachment can be provided only by the ring.
  • the skirt is split, the final fixing is obtained by the establishment of the trim band, as will be seen below.
  • the present invention applies to both cases, namely continuous skirt or split skirt.
  • the hoop 2 comprises a substantially cylindrical body 21 which extends at its upper end by a reentrant flap 26 which defines a large opening passage. At its opposite lower end, the hoop 2 comprises a thinned portion 22 whose wall thickness is less than that of most of the body 21. The difference in wall thickness between the body 21 and the thinned portion 22 is visible in the form of an internal recess 212 which extends over the entire inner periphery of the hoop.
  • the lower end of the hoop is formed by an edge 23 which results from the hemming of a portion 24 of the hoop inwardly.
  • This hemmed portion 24, which originally extended in the extension of the thinned portion 22 has been hemmed inward by a well-known hemming process.
  • the lower edge 23 thus makes the junction between the thinned portion 22 and the inner hemmed portion 24.
  • the free end of the hemmed portion 24 forms a shoulder 251 which is oriented upwards, that is to say in the direction of the returning flap 26.
  • the shoulder 251 is thus oriented substantially opposite the recess 212, as can be seen in FIG. figure 2 .
  • An annular housing is thus created in the inner wall of the hoop between the recess 212 and the shoulder 25. This design of hoop clothing is common to both embodiments.
  • the fixing ring 1, the hoop 2, the container neck 31 and the dispenser member 4 all have a certain longitudinal axial symmetry along an axis X visible on the figures 1 and 6 .
  • the dispensing member 4 is first engaged axially from below to the inside of the receiving housing 17 formed by the ring 1. Then, the ring 2 with its latched distribution 4 is reported axially from above on the container neck 31 until its fastening means 12 engage under the flange 32. Finally, the trim band 2 is axially reported from top to bottom on the fixing ring 1, so as to engage the outer wall of the skirt 11.
  • the lower end or lower edge 23 of the hoop 2 abuts or is close to the shoulder 35 formed by the container 3. It is indeed desired that the hoop comes into contact with the shoulder 35 for aesthetic reasons .
  • the fixing ring 1 is no longer visible, since the actuating rod 43 is still capped by the dispensing head which surrounds the hoop 2 or is housed inside the hoop 2 .
  • the shoulder 25 of the hemmed portion 24 forms hooking means which cooperate with abutment means formed by the ring 2.
  • abutment means may for example be formed by the lower end 13 of the skirt 11.
  • the attachment means and the abutment means together define axial retention means which make it possible to block the hoop on the ring. It is thus no longer possible to remove the hoop from the ring, which implies that the ring 2 can no longer be removed from the container neck.
  • the fixing of the dispensing member 4 on the container neck is permanent and inviolable.
  • the axial retention means of the hoop on the ring make it possible to arrange the hoop on the ring in several distinct offset axial positions.
  • the band 2 can be engaged on the ring with its lower edge 23 which extends more or less downwards from the lower end of the skirt 11. This allows to have and block the ring on the ring with the lower edge 23 of the collar in contact with the shoulder 35 of the container 3. And this, regardless of the height of the neck 31.
  • the axial retention means thus comprise several mutual engagement elements which define axial engagement positions distinct from the band on the ring. These gripping elements can be formed either by the hoop or by the ring. These gripping elements make it possible to define determined axial positions of locking of the hoop relative to the ring as a function of the physiognomy of the container neck.
  • the mutual engagement elements are formed by the trim band 2.
  • the shoulder 25 of the hemmed portion 24 of the trim band has a serrated profile thus defining height and height slots. different depths.
  • the hemmed portion 24 defines three crenellated heights 251, 253 and 254 separated by slot bottoms 252 at the same axial height.
  • the slot vertices 251, 253 and 254 are located at different axial heights.
  • the slot vertices and the slot bottoms define arcuate segments which are connected by radial segments 241, 243 and 244 of varying heights.
  • the shoulder 25 formed by the hemmed portion 24 here defines four interlocking elements formed by the crestal peaks 251, 253 and 254 and the crestal bottoms 252.
  • Each of these engagement elements is adapted to abut against the lower end 13 of the skirt 11, as can be seen on the figure 2 with the slot apex 251. If the container neck had been made more stubby or short, the shoulder 25 would have been located a little higher, and the slot apex 251 would not have been able to come into abutment. below the end 13. In contrast, the other crest 253 then would have filled the hooking function in abutment under the lower end 13. And if the collar was even more stocky, it is the niche bottom 252 which would abut under the lower end 13.
  • the trim band 2 can be hooked under the ring 1 at different offset axial positions. This allows to hang the band under the ring regardless of the appearance of the container neck. Instead of the lower end 13 of the skirt 11, any other abutment zone formed by the ring 1 can be provided.
  • the lower end 13 can abut against the slots because the ring, made of plastic material, always tends to deform or flow outwardly.
  • the fixing ring 1 is also provided with a protruding pre-assembly peripheral flange 16 which protrudes radially outwards at the plate 15 at the upper end of the skirt 11.
  • This flange 16 also serves to the attachment of the trim band 2 when the latter is not yet permanently engaged around the skirt 11.
  • the fixing ring 1 can be mounted on a container neck, because the skirt 11 is not yet prevented from deforming radially outwardly by the engagement of the trim band 2.
  • the hoop covering 2 is integral with the fixing ring 1 and constitutes, together with the ring, an unmountable unitary entity.
  • the projecting flange 16 can engage with the shoulder 25 formed by the hemmed portion 24 or more precisely with any crenel formed by the crenellated profile of the shoulder. On the Figures 3 and 4 it is the crestal bottom 252 which is engaged with the projecting flange 16.
  • the cover band 2 may be identical to that of the first embodiment, or alternatively, the hemmed portion 24 of the band may have a continuous internal shoulder 25, that is to say, devoid of crenellated profile.
  • the skirt 11, which is split here is provided with several series of vertical longitudinal ribs 14 which extend downwards from the projecting flange 16.
  • Each series of ribs here comprises three ribs of different heights.
  • the fixing ring here comprises six skirt segments separated by six slots 111, the ring is provided with six series of three ribs of different heights.
  • the ribs define lower abutment ends 141, 142 and 143 which are disposed at different offset axial heights.
  • Each rib end thus defines abutment means oriented downwards, that is to say in the direction of the shoulder 25 of the hemming portion 24 which extends upwards.
  • the shoulder 25 is housed just below the abutment end 141 of the longest rib.
  • the series of ribs of different heights constitute mutual engagement elements for arranging and locking the hoop relative to the ring in offset axial positions.
  • the shoulder 25 of the hemmed portion 24 can engage under the projecting flange 16 to preposition the trim band 2 on the fixing ring.
  • the hoop 2 in which it has no hemmed portion 24, but forms a peripheral internal recess 24 'which defines a lower abutment edge 25' which can fulfill the same function as the shoulder 25.
  • the abutment zone formed by the ring can thus abut on this lower edge.
  • the hoop does not need to have an upper wall thickness below the lower edge because the The abutment zone formed by the ring will flow in the recess due to the creep properties of the plastic material constituting the ring.
  • the retaining means at the upper part of the skirt and the hoop.
  • the ring is preferably made of plastic and the hoop can be made of metal or plastic.
